Moreno, Larsen ruled out

If running back Knowshon Moreno and fullback Spencer Larsen are the ground offense’s white knight, the Broncos will have to wait at least another week for rescue.

On Friday, head coach Josh McDaniels ruled both players out for Sunday’s game against Baltimore with lingering hamstring and ankle injuries, respectively.

The Broncos’ running game wasn’t exactly dynamic the first few weeks with both of these players, so this isn’t a back-breaker. It’s time for the linemen up front to grow into the bulldozing unit of which they are physically capable.

    And McDaniels says Payton Hillis' running style wasn't what the broncos were looking for. I guess they're not looking for somone who can actually gain yardage.

    Andre Brown must be really bad, or really slow at picking up the offense if he cannot even earn a carry right now. He has the size, might as well give him a shot, who knows he may be able to gain 0.59 yards and improve things. Moreno was clearly overdrafted but as average as he is, he is by the far the best back on the team. A 2nd fullback on the practice squad might not hurt either since Larsen seems to usually be hurt.

    I think if we ran the ball out of a two back set with a true fullback the running game would improve a bit. A lot of the problem lies with the O-line, and our backs not hitting the hole with a big burst. There is tooooo much dancing going on!

    Moreno is a total bust in the making and only denver fans can see it. All we would have to do is get a fullback. He wouldnt even have to be good, just get in the way. maroney is a totall bust 2. Mcdanials is a retard sometimes.

    Buck will do just fine. Time pay the Ravens back for last year. Harbaugh, you better get ready for the beating that is coming on Sunday. If we can avoid our usual slow start and put together a complete game, we will hand the ravens the same beating that they gave us last year.

    I like the fullback idea best . It would spring Moreno into the secondary where he can do some good . McDaniels has plans to use Moreno as a receiver when he is in the secondary . Moreno cannot move the pile like Hillis . There had to be something that McD saw or perceived in Hillis that would throw a kink in the future plans . It does not superimpose itself on the Patriots method of running backs .I am sure things have not gone as planned . Just keep trying until something works out .

    i agree he's not showed me nothing even as rookie,mcdumass needs to go back to new england,sorry only need a few pieces in place as a team injuries have hert the team hard been a broncos fan since 1977 they need a back,pass rusher,Be lucky to win 8 games this yr jarvis moss bust ,

    Aye. I weep each time I see him touch the ball (usually on a dropped pass or a four yard loss).

    I can justify a lot of McD's decisions.. most in fact.. just not this one..

    Maybe. I just haven't seen any hole for any back to run through. Maroney just takes too long to decide. Buck would lose less yardage on broken runs and gain a little even without a true running lane.
