On Sunday, Denver’s first overall draft selection showed the world why the Broncos picked him where they did. Demaryius Thomas, a rookie out of Georgia Tech, played in his first NFL game after missing week 1 due to an injury. Leading a dominating offensive attack, Thomas caught 8 passes for just shy of 100 yards, and a Touchdown.

His performance hasn’t gone unnoticed, as the 6-3, 230 pound receiver is now a finalist for two weekly awards – the Diet Pepsi Rookie of the Week award and the GMC Never Say Never Moment of Week 2 award.

Fans can vote for one of the five nominated rookies on NFL.com/rookies beginning Tuesday at 9 am ET and ending on Friday at noon ET to determine the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week. The Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week will be announced Friday evening on NFL.com/rookies.

Last season then-rookie running back Knowshon Moreno won the Diet Pepsi Rookie of the Week award four times, more times than any other rookie that season.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/rookies throughout the month of January. The winner will be announced at a press conference at Super Bowl XLV in North Texas.

Be sure to go vote for Thomas here for the ROW award, and here for the GMC award!

Big strong kid with more speed than Marshall. Have to give credit to whoever pushed for him to be our #1 pick.

You can just tell he's going to be very good if not great. Being in the NFL is not overwhelming to him… you can just see that.
