Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey was seen leaving the locker room on crutches following the Broncos’ 31-14 win over the Seattle Seahawks Sunday.

Bailey, who intercepted Matt Hasselbeck in the first quarter with a high-leaping red zone catch, told CBS4’s Vic Lombardi that the crutches were merely “precautionary.”

Bailey’s backup, Perrish Cox, also hauled in an interception late in the fourth quarter, but with the Indianapolis ColtsPeyton Manning coming into town next week, the Broncos’ secondary can’t afford to be at anything less than full strength. Hopefully Champ’s self-diagnosis is accurate and the future Hall of Famer is ready to go this week.

oh yeah…i often just use crutches for precaution.

who are we trying to kid here?

RICE – Rest, Ice, Compression & Elevation. If he's twisted something, the first thing you do is rest it and take your weight off it. Crutches may help it get better but they won't make it worse.

Yes, but will he be able to play with bruised armpits?

I remember Shannon Sharpe leaving the locker room on crutches after many a game back in the 90s due to his chronic ankle problems. If Champ says he is ok, then I'll bet this is precautionary.
