The Denver Broncos have joined the NFL in it’s effort to stop child obesity through it’s ‘Play 60′ campaign. “The Movement for an active generation†is their slogo, encouraging kids to get at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day.
It is a movement to be commended, as is Play 60’s latest event, “Back to Football Friday.â€
“Back to Football Friday†is a campaign that combines the efforts of the United Way and NFL Play 60, which is the league’s initiative designed to get kids active through in-school, after-school and team-based programs. The campaign is in support of the NFL and its clubs’ commitment to youth health and wellness.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos along with the rest of the NFL are encouraging fans to wear their team colors on Friday in support of the league and United Way’s goal of ending childhood obesity.“Back to Football Friday†is a campaign that combines the efforts of the United Way and NFL Play 60, which is the league’s initiative designed to get kids active through in-school, after-school and team-based programs. The campaign is in support of the NFL and its clubs’ commitment to youth health and wellness.
This nationwide celebration is set for Friday to coincide with the excitement of Kickoff Weekend and the anticipation of the 2010 NFL season.Schools that sign up to participate in “Back to Football Friday†are competing to win a player/team visit and a $10,000 NFL Play 60 Grant. Local offices that register are eligible to win a private suite for the Broncos’ Nov. 28 game against St. Louis with a Daniel Graham autographed jersey (1st place) and four Budweiser Champions Club tickets for the Broncos’ Dec. 26 game against Houston with a Champ Bailey autographed helmet (2nd place).
The Broncos also will celebrate “Back to Football Friday†through their partnership with Western Dairy Association. They will host “Fuel up to Play 60 with Miles†assemblies on Friday at 10 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. at Letford Elementary (Johnstown, Colo.) as well as on Friday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. at Heritage Elementary (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) in conjunction with Western Dairy Association. Fans who sign up to participate in the “Back to Football Friday†celebration are eligible to win a trip to Super Bowl XLV in North Texas.
