Tim Tebow is a Denver Bronco.

Arguably the greatest player in college football history was drafted by the Broncos with the 25th overall selection in the 2010 NFL Draft.

The Broncos traded 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round draft picks to move back into the first round and select Tebow. They earlier selected WR Demaryius Thomas with the 22nd overall pick.

After a year of trades that saw Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall, Peyton Hillis, and Tony Scheffler exported elsewhere, the Broncos’ offense has a youthful, long-term direction again. Will the picks pay dividends? Did the Broncos, despite trading down from 11th overall, reach for these players?

Broncos fans, we want to hear from you! Be sure to take our poll in the sidebar or after the jump. Your thoughts in the comments.

The Broncos select QB Tim Tebow in the 1st round. Do you approve?

questionable impact on the field but great locker room guy immediately. I like it.

  • Georgia_Dawg

    wasted first round pick….

  • inrodwetrust

If he is better than Alphonzo Smith we on our on way up. TT to DT for a TD!

  • guest

thomas not a reach. tebow is

  • markydenver

I am getting rid of my season tickets because of tebows religious views, guy sucks and is a watse of a first round pick

  • herc_rock

Hey, it's Bradlee Van Pelt with a shitty arm!! Great!!

  • herc_rock

Good. Move me up on the list. It won't be like this forever.

  • Seahorse

Can I have them? I'm pro choice, cause apparently that really matters a whole lot to you.

  • Jack

The Broncos landed Tim Tebow with the 25th pick overall after trading with the Ravens. Denver also gets a fourth-round pick as part of the deal, in exchange for a second-round pick (No. 43), a third-round pick (No. 70) and a fourth-round pick (No. 114)

  • biseltech

overall we have another year without the playoffs, there is no way tebow can give us the playoffs.

  • biseltech

I will take them. Tebow won't play much next year

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/COFOWCYPC56ESKGQQ4EQG2RPOI yahoo-COFOWCYPC56ESKGQQ4EQG2RPOI

Tebow, Great move!! this year Orton will do well. But you all will be happy when Tebow will finally get out of the Elway shadow!!
    Go Broncos!!

  • Ben

you can give your Season Tickets to me MarkyMark, And I'll take Tebow's religious views over Cutlers mouth any day of the week, especially if the Kid can win (which he can).

I know people are going to go Bananas about this pick, But I like it, We gave up very little to get either of these guys (considering we got most of the picks we gave up from moving back), And both of them are serious play makers that also have great locker room presence and Awesome Character to boot.

I know marky, and kerry (oh how kerry will hate this :O) are flipping out, but I think there is potential here for some serious future playoff/Superbowl appearances.

I know it would be ridiculous for me to tell you all to try and give the kid a chance (I have been on this site before, and it seems that many of you have a really hard time with that), but for now, at least lets not be bashing these guys before they ever even step on the field.

  • guest

no, he doesnt flick off fans. he circumsizes them

  • guest

honestly he wont be asked to. hes going to be a backup for at least a yr.

  • broncosrule789

    Who is the bigot now?

  • Tom9798

Kyle . . . this was pretty much a sure thing . . . I commented on another blog that Tebow is the alter ego of McD . . . McD will live vicariously through Tebow . . . . even gave him D.Thomas to throw to . . . .

McD is now drafting his team . . .

  • Jack

    +1000 love your comment
PS I need season tix too send them up

  • Iwasfn47

We'll see…We'll see. Nothing else we can do except wait until he starts a full season to judge, we can only speculate and I won't be negative until I have a reason to be. With Pouncey + Iupati off the board so be it for now.

  • steeplebomb

Who knows what this means? How can you possibly classify this pick? Yes Mel Kiper doesn't like him. Yes his throwing motion is too long. There's more that makes a successful qb then just raw mechanics or form. If it were that easy then 1st round qbs wouldn't have the bust rate they do. And all those things you can't put on paper? Tebow has all of them in spades. Work ethic, leadership, maturity and responsibility. He's arguably the most successful college football player of all time. Anyone who is willing to check out on the broncos because of this doesn't realize that being a fan sometimes requires you to check your doubts at the door and just have faith.

  • Seahorse

I had no idea there was a guy at #25 that can just give us a playoff berth… I gotta admit I'm disappointed we didn't go with the guy you are referring to. har.

  • Guest

well said lets try some optimism for a change and quit hating on a team we're supposed to be rooting for

  • inrodwetrust

thats what you call a shitty arm?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsditoWmwNM

  • vmec

good job by denver..excellent draft!!! made my day. in tebow we trust

  • Big_Pete

Lots of busts and steals. To be a bust, you have to be a player that the “experts” and teams thought would be a stud. you are a player that people gave a grade of “A” when you picked the player. Then, the player turned into a bust.
In order to have a steal, you need to draft a player that people scratched their heads at when you took them. You are taking a player that people don't really expect much out of, and yet, that player turns into a stud.
Only time will tell if Tebow is a bust or a stud. Keiper didn't like him? Big deal, he liked Leaf and Akili Smith and Rick Mirer etc… He's one of the biggest idiots in all the land.

  • inrodwetrust

This raises some questions, does this mean Clady gets moved to right tackle to compensate for the lefty's blind side? When do we get Chis Simms back to be his backup? Can Tebow play center?

  • guest

is clady going to switch sides when tebow plays?

  • Big_Pete

Clady is arguably the best LT in the league. However, Harris is one of the top RT in the league, so I wouldn't be too worried. Yes, Harris will get the best DE's on the opposition when Tebow is in, but I'm sure he's talented enough to handle that. Now all the counter or off tackle sweeps will run to the weak side, or Clady's side. This could help the run game. Clady is a monster. While he is known the best for pass blocking, he can run block with the best of them.

  • biseltech

Your right Tebow shouldn't be asked to but McD should and his picks directly reflect what will get us to the playoffs. last year a big McD fan, slowly losing respect.

  • Andpark

I think McD just bet his career on Tebow succeeding as a starting NFL QB.

  • FloridaGator

are you scared of God or what Tebow might do for Denver

  • guest

    yup.

  • Craig

I think you are right Andpark and I also think McD made a wise bet.

  • Iwasfn47

A lot of other fans think he'll be good BECAUSE the Broncos drafted him. Don't underrate McD's ability to coach up a QB, its what got him here. And Andpark is spot on. McD just put his job on the line for Tebow, no doubt. Thats that. In 4 years he'll either have a hard time finding an OC job or he'll be a genius, time will tell.

  • biseltech

I think getting rid of a pro bowl player, every selection has to geared to getting us to the playoffs.

  • Shawn Adair

Broncos are a legitimate threat within 2 years. Best draft by Broncos since Elway. With 2 1st Rounders. D Thomas to replace B. Marshall, Tebow to replace Orton and/or Cutler (I think Orton sticks around but NotForLong!)

I agree that McDaniel has bet his career on Tebow in we Trust! MileHighNation time for a new ERA of Bronco Ball!!! Bring it on and click those hooves!

    DieHardBronco fan Stuck in D.C.

  • Russ

Appluading Ben very smart Tebow is a very smart qb im sorry to see the bashing already,it's a shame wanting to give your tickets up to me win or loose with what ever you got is not a true blue and orange supporter you have to win to love em give the guy a chance if he dont work out then you have the option to run your mouth marky…but to be scared of God and use that as a front to get rid of your tickets is a shame and a slap to bronco nation

  • kenmasta

    i'll take your tickets then

  • TheTroglodyte

I really like Tebow and I think he is going to make a great qb “some” day. Really disappointed we grabbed a project though. Now that I have calmed down, I will reserve judgement until I see what McD can do to improve the O-line and D-Line though. Still short a LB too. My initial reaction is one of frustration. Would have much rather grabbed Dan Williams at that spot if we were going to trade up.

I would like to see Orton get traded now as I simply don't see him leading us to the playoffs and feel Quinn is a better option.

If nothing else, I guess we finally got a goal line back that can fix our goalline and short yardage situations right? Maybe some more “Wild Horses” in our future?

  • FloridaGator

Well said steeplebomb ive seen Tebow 4 straight years as a season ticket holder i live in florida wish he would have made it here closer to hom but i see myself making the trip and now supporting the broncos myself i love my dolphins but Tebow is with a change go ask the over all # 1 pick in the draft did he win a National Championship in football he'll answer no because Tim Tebow beat him for it along with Mcoy also on the same team these are good traits Work ethic, leadership, maturity and responsibility enjoy him and support him he'll suprize you :)

  • cgabeyta7

That might be one of the most ignorant comments I have come across on one of these comment pages. By the way Brian Dawkins has the very same religious views you are so uncomfortable with.

  • Ben

You know it's funny, I remember when Elway came out in the draft, there were all these critics that said (of all things) that his throwing motion would give away his passes (he tapped the ball before he threw it, which was to slow :) I am not trying to say Tebow will be the next Elway I just think it is funny to hear people rag on this specific topic and say how a QB can't succeed in the NFL with a slower motion (or with a hitch as they call Tebow's quirk) seemed to work out OK for John…

  • Rob_Bronco

There's no doubt that Tebow is a risk. But ALL the QBs in this draft were a risk. We all know that high powered teams are built on having a solid QB. That being said, Orton was signed to a one year tender (not a high powered QB). We traded for Quinn on a hail mary (not a high powered QB), and obviously Brandstater wasn't the answer. Look at these stats:

    Tebow Cutler
    Height 6'3″ 6'4″
    Weight 245 230
    Total Yds 9285 4917
    TDs 88 31
    Ints 16 14
    Cmplt % 67.8 59.1

Cutler was a huge risk, and he flourished in Denver. Tebow can flourish as well. Strong offensive line. Incredibly talented YOUNG receivers, and a nearly 1,000 yard rusher in Moreno.

  • ocbronco

Read this…. The guy has a shot to be great. Aren't 90% of 1st round qb's question marks anyway?

    http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/Articles/1

  • beastrules0015

that was really sweet of the broncos to make sure tebow's dads prediction was correct.I just can't get myself to believe it wasn't a waste of three picks that could have really helped this team. And the sad part about it is ,i'm not a tebow hater either, and i want to really beieve it was best for the broncos.

  • areferee

    Team Tebow…the line forms here…

  • Murph

Once a Bronco fan—always a Bronco fan. Where does Brady Quinn fit into the scheme of things? Is there a trade in the air for either him or Tebow?? A lot of you are right about Coach McD being a goat or a hero after about 3 years.
    Go Broncos

  • bananahead

Tebow's religious views aside my guess is that he isn't liar like you. I am calling you out right now. Provide proof that you have given up your season tickets or be forever known as a worthless, lying piece of garbage.

  • TheTroglodyte

I wouldn't call Cutler's 2 year tenure of leading the NFL in redzone INT's, INT's inside your own 20, and the 16th highest scoring offense exactly flourishing, but you make a great point.

  • converted

Life long Gator fan, very long Raider fan, who just converted!!! Yesirree!!! I am a Denver Bronco fan now! I am a football coach and have told colleagues of mine that Tebow will go first round. Ironically an offensive coordinator who played QB at an NAIA school told me I knew nothing about the position and that I was crazy. All I can say is HAHAHAHAHAHA!! He hasn't returned a text yet. Now I am not saying I will be a loyal Bronco fan. I am a Tebow fan. I will root for any team he plays for. Right now it's Denver. STEEPLEBOMB had most of it right, but the thing about his throwing motion…..he shortened it and it is fine now. I'd listen to Jon Gruden unless you are better than him recognizing talent when he sees it. We live close to Denver. If that knucklehead really wants to get rid of his season tickets let me know. He's a winner and he ALWAYS will be. Congrats to the diehard Bronco fans. I can't wait to find out his number and buy about 5 jerseys. GOOOOOOO BRONCOS!!!!
I liked the comment of one Bronco fan saying, :lets be optimistic here and start rooting for the team we love” Nuf Said!!
