Let’s talk about quarterback, baby. Let’s talk about you and me.

Colin of South Stands Denver makes his case — if the Eagles don’t want him, he’d be happy to see the Denver Broncos pursue QB Donovan McNabb.

Kim at Predominantly Orange agrees, to a point. Maybe a change at quarterback isn’t needed, but a change in offensive philosophy — from conservative to aggressive — definitely is.

How stable is the Broncos’ roster? The guys at MHR have a graphical take, starting with — what else? — quarterback.

I would welcome McNabb with open arms in Denver, I don't see it happening though.

I've always been a fan of McNabb's as well, but I don't think the difference between McNabb and Orton would be as far off as some other positions we need to upgrade (offensive, defensive line). The net gain isn't worth the probable cost.

Let's focus on solidifying the o-line (LOGAN MANKINS!), adding depth in the front seven and dealing with our WR situation. Neither Orton (talent) nor McNabb (age) are the long-term answer as a franchise QB.

This is the way i look at it. If Brandon Marshall decides to leave then i think we should draft Dez Bryant from Oklahoma State and then if we have to then we should trade up in the draft for Colt McCoy. After watching Colt every week (Im a Longhorn fan) I really believe he has what it takes to be a franchise QB. And with McDaniels teaching him he could be the next best thing. But if B-Marsh stays I say we draft Rolando McClain.

We DO NOT want McNabb! He wouldn't be a huge upgrade from Orton! Let Orton train up a youngster while we solidify the rest of our weaknesses. It's the only way to go.

I like McNabb, but not as a Bronco, too old and we need to focus on the long term by developing the right young QB. And unless Claussen is available, I would not pick a QB in round one. All due respect to McCoy, tell me one QB from Texas in the last 15 years that is a star NFL QB?

    Maybe Brandstater is the answer.

    Can't wait til camp starts!!

I don't want any more band aids. Call the surgeon and fix the problem permanently.

Was that coming out of the tunnel in the Cowboys new monstrosity of a stadium? If so, I find that hilarious.

  • broncomaniac

Brandstater is not the answer! Im laughing at that comment….Orton will be our QB for at least another year…if that….and that's fine with me as long as we can upgrade some of our weaknesses just like the rest of you guys said

Vince Young is a good player, They went 8-2 with him starting this year. The reason he wasnt so good in the past is because he had to adjust to a pocket passer but now Fisher is giving him more freedom to scramble if he wants. I just think Colt has what it takes

  • anthony33

Young certainly showed promise this year, no doubt, although I would not call him an upper echelon QB yet.

McCoy appears to be undersized, kind of like a Chris Simms.

It is almost like rolling the dice with QB's coming out.

  • anthony33

Totally agree Orton is the QB for the next year or two and it is critical to start developing someone for long term.

I don't think any of us know enough about Brandstater to predict anything. I am just saying he might be the answer… I hope he is.
