The Denver Broncos have taken a commanding 16-0 lead as they and the New York Giants head into halftime on Thanksgiving night, and I, for one, am thankful.
As dominating a picture as the scoreboard paints, statistically the Broncos’ stats are even more impressive. They have outgained New York to the tune of 213 net yards to the Giants’ 38. Kyle Orton has thrown for 149 yards while Eli Manning has only gained nine. Broncos rushers have outgained the Giants 64-29, and Denver has nearly doubled New York in time of possession, 19:47 to 10:13.
The defense is flying to the football, forcing fumbles, and holding the Giants to 1.65 yards per play. They haven’t been perfect, but they’re 30 minutes away from finishing a hellish November on a high note.
