I’m starting to get a little worried for Oakland Raiders defensive lineman Richard Seymour.

“You can mark it down,” Seymour told a Cincinnati sports radio talk show Wednesday. “The Raiders will be in the playoffs.”

The Raiders — in the playoffs?  Upon hearing this proclamation, even Al Davis reportedly rolled his eyes.

But hold your laughter, readers. BroncoTalk has learned — exclusively — that the radio hosts, mouths agape in stunned bewilderment, cut off Seymour before he could finish his statement! You see, Seymour had more to say; a few words were left off the end of that sentence, and those words are key.

Allow us to finish Seymour’s thoughts for him. Our thorough statistical analysis suggests the following were the most likely intended conclusions to his sentence:

“…in 2021.”

“…when hell freezes over.”

“…after Tom Cable finally exclaims, ‘I’ve had it!‘ and knocks JaMarcus Russell out for the season.”

See? Now it all makes sense.

Seriously though, as long as J.R. is quarterbacking the Raiders, all Oakland fans can look forward to in the spring is a draft spot ridiculously close to their quarterback’s jersey number. I guarantee it.

I love the tag “Ill-Fated Attempts at Humor”

I'll have to treat Seymour's comments like the breeze and just let it pass you by.

    They're one injury away from being a .500 team….

    An Al Davis stroke…

The Radio guy said, “Will the Raiders make the Playoffs?”
And if Rich had said, “No, or “I Don't think so” Then he would have been smashed by media for being disgruntled and whatever, and people would say he doesn't have team spirit and bla bla bla. But it's still funny….

wow. Richard must have been wasted, high, strung out, tweaking and drunk off his ass all at the same time. of course you kinda have to be wasted all the time to stand the pain of playing on Oakland.

I don't pay too much attention to media stuff. I do however have a question along a different line. What's going on with Peyton Hillis? I keep looking and hear nothing. Last year he was a beast in the running game such as it was and this year zip. So what gives? I've been a Bronco fan since 1973.

I question the same thing. Against Dallas and New England we use Moreno. Results turn over on downs. there was one time in the Charger where we had short yardage situation and Jordan was in the back field but we called a timeout and then threw a pass out the spread offense.

Hey Al, I'll have another. Looks like Seymour is drinking the Raider Kool-Aid again.

Other being in McDaniels' proverbial doghouse for fumbling at crucial times, I think the coaching staff has avoided using Hillis at HB due to the extended injury of Spencer Larsen. In training camp the offense was using a “Jumbo” package of Larsen at FB with Hillis at HB in goal line and crucial short yardage situations. If we see Larsen back healthy at some point this season, I think you can expect to see this package thrown in during games.

    Thanks for the update.
