Pats RB Fred Taylor ruled out Sunday

Just reported on ESPN: Patriots RB Fred Taylor, the team’s leading rusher, will undergo ankle surgery this week, ruling him out for Sunday’s tilt against the Broncos. If the surgery is successful, Taylor isn’t expected to miss the season.

It’s a blow for the Pats — Taylor is their only rusher averaging over 4 ypc — but not a huge blow.  The Pats rushed five different backs remarkably evenly in their win last week against Baltimore; look for them to do the same in Denver.
