Saccomano Provides 2009 Uniform Schedule

Via Twitter and his blog, Jim Saccomano, VP of public relations for the Broncos has given us an idea of what to expect our team to wear in this coming season.  Below is a rundown of dates and games for the uniforms for this season.  If I’m understanding the wording correctly, the team will only be sporting its AFL uniforms for one game this season, at home against the Patriots on October 11th.  It was previously speculated that the uniforms would be worn whenever two former AFL teams were playing each other.

Broncos Orange and Anniversary Uniform Schedule
Bailey Alternate Jersey vs. Dallas Cowboys

October 4th. (home)
vs. Boston Patriots (New England)

October 11th. (home)

 AFL Uniform Set
Bailey Alternate Jersey vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

November 9th. (home)

    Oh good, we get to see the vertical striped socks… bet nobody will make fun of those uniforms. Doesn’t help that the Bronco on the helmet looks semiretarded.

    I do like the orange. Took me until the second Super Bowl victory to like the blues. I loathe the blues with blue pants and the white with white pants. Looks like pajamas.

    Something about winning two Super Bowls made me like the blue. That, and #7 never lost while wearing a blue jersey in the regular season or playoffs.

    But who cares what we wear as long as we win!

    The 1960 helmet is brown with white numbers. There is no horse on that particular helmet they will wear with the gold jersey and striped socks.

    Charger fans are probably going to demand Hochuli wear that AFL ref uniform from now on regardless of what game it is.

    No word on if they’ll be wearing the smurf uniforms as I call them. I like the all blues every once in awhile though.

    Just to be nitpicky, I think they’ll be wearing the white AFL uni too (Think the McDaniels Cutler picture) – this is only the home schedule above. If I recall correctly, the white uni was supposed to be against SD in SD.

    Love seeing the orange jerseys make an appearance. I could definitely get used to seeing them more in a season. I actually dont mind the blue jersey/blue pants combo either… i always look forward to a little change of pace with the uni’s… even these throwbacks w/ vertical socks will be rad to see for a game or two.

    I really like the uniforms. I am so glad their color is orange, because it’s just a fantastic color, very flashy. Go Broncos! I miss seeing the games when I lived in Denver. Those were some really great times that I’ll never forget!
