Linebacker Greisen Out for Season, Broncos sign Replacement

GreisenJeff Legwold is reporting that Broncos inside linebacker Nick Greisen has torn his ACL at camp this morning initially thinking it was a cramp.  The team moved the eight year vet to IR shortly thereafter.   This was Greisen’s first season with the Broncos after time spent with Jacksonville, the New York Giants, and Baltimore.

An immediate replacement was signed, Braxton Kelley.  Kelley is a linebacker out of Kentucky who Denver previously released back on June 13th and had earned All American honors his Freshman season.  This will be the second time he will be reuinited with former teammate Wesley Woodyard.

    I’m not too sure Kerry, the guy did back up Ray Lewis. Also he’s a special teams monster.

    Sounds a lot like Niko Koutouvides. Backed up a pro-bowl linebacker and a special teams monster. How’d he do?
