Remember Back in 2007 Brandon Marshall was pulled over for suspicion of DUI? Well here’s the police report folks. According to the police report Marshall repeatedly asked for his lawyer over and over and the officer let him know each time that he could not have one yet. According the police report this prompted Marshall to say,

“That’s b******t, that’s a lie. Why aren’t you guys out there looking for William’s killer? I hate Denver, I hate this city, I hate f***ing city.”

Marshall was then escorted to the police headquarters where he blew a .116 BAC, which is over the legal limit.

No one can be positive that this actually happened the way it did but never the less another document has shown up unveiling Marshall’s character for yet another offseason. Remember the 911 tapes last year? Sheesh. Either Brandon Marshall makes a ton of mistakes or he is the most unfortunate man ever. If it’s the latter, Brandon Marshall has more unfortunate events then Lemony Snicket himself. Also drinking and driving is no joke, I and many others out there have lost close friends and family members to it.

This all did happen in the past but makes it a little more clear why Marshall wasn’t hesitant to ask for a trade. This doesn’t mean he’s always hated Denver, I’m sure his angry drunk venting was all just that but those are things you just can’t say. Marshall is just a young man who’s too quick to speak and never really thinks about what he’s doing. Take this incident out of the picture and you have:

  • Marshall “slipping on a McDonalds bag” a.k.a wrestling with a cousin and slamming into a glass TV stand.
  • Marshall allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend.
  • Marshall still going back to her.
  • Marshall then looking like a fool on ESPN.
  • Marshall almost giving the Browns a better field advantage with his glove stunt in the 4th quarter.
  • Marshall fighting with his fiance in public and getting arrested for it.

That’s just a few to name, feel free to list more in the comments. The point is, when will this all end? Will it ever end? Or is Brandon Marshall just a series of incidents after incidents?

The real question now is, even if Marshall isn’t traded this offseason what does his future in Denver look like? Let’s hear it Bronco fans.

  • http://broncotalk.net Kyle

The DUI and everything makes me as livid as it ever did. Him saying he hates Denver in the middle of getting pulled over? Meh, I couldn’t care less.

  • http://www.search-this.com mark

    Drunks say stupid things…
The DUI bothers me, but I don’t want to play high-and-mighty. When I was young I too did some drinken and drove home. I never got a DUI because I was lucky. So the DUI I can forgive.
BUT, if he ever hit a woman then that’s it… I have no forgiveness for that.

  • http://broncotalk.net Ian Henson

haha, I guess Marshall should understand when Bowlen told him that he’d be traded that he was just drunk.

  • jcampb72

This just stirs a pot that doesn’t need stirring.

  • MikeY55

Marshalls the shit why is everyone saying get rid of him? give the man the money he deserves with a contract that protects you from him being an idiot how hard is that! hes extremelly underpaid for a top 10 receiver could be pushing top 5 sooner then later give him a contract with which he deserves to be paid offfield issues are a terrible reason to not sign him all they have to do is make written agreements to protect the team from suspensions

  • http://ttmt.com T-Money

Is it me or does it look like the police officer was having some speech impediment and sever seizure when he wrote that?

  • NathanH47

I’ll state once again that i really don’t see him being traded until at least next offs season. Marshall has NOOOOO leverage right now to be demanding a new contract given all the negative media attention he and the Broncos have received this off season be it right or not. Teams will try and low ball the Broncos because they may think we’re desperate(i don’t they do), and no team is going to want to trade unless Marshall agrees to sign and extension after the trade, which is exactly what he wants, but he wants top 10 money and i’m not sold that any one is willing to give up a 1st and more and than shell out that much for a receiver that’s an incident away from an 8 game suspension and possible jail time.

Because we won’t get any good offers, we tell him to play or we put him on the inactive list come preseason. At this point, if his agent isn’t a complete dumbass, he’ll be advised to suit up and go have a career year and not get into trouble. If he does that THEN, next off season, we tag him, and trade him when his value is higher and hopefully he doesn’t get into trouble in that year and his name will be a little better as well.

It’s win/win for us though if played like that, because if we overachieve next year or look like we can contend in ’10-’11, than we tag him, and make his ass go through that process one more time.

Everyone here should really look into Julius Peppers’ hold out situation this summer and how it ended this week.

  • http://mrherculesrockefeller.blogspot.com herc rock

    Reach.

As an aside, you can’t believe much of anything in a DUI police report other than BAC. I made a similar mistake when I was a young guy and my report was full of lies upon lies upon horse-hockey.

  • kerry

why wait to see if he gets suspended when he can be dealt right now for someone who actually can stay out of trouble. we can deal him right now and let some other team deal with his bullshit. yeah he is a excellent receiver, but that means nothing if he isnt actually on the field due to suspension.

but here is the funny thing, alot of people want screaming to keep Marshall and pay him, yet proclaim McDaniels a genius for getting rid of Cutler. hmmmmm……dumping a pro bowl talent gets you a genius label, so why wouldnt everybody WANT McDaniels to get rid of Marshall when dumping pro bowl talent makes a guy a genius? hmmm…

and here is another thing, common sense (i know that term doesnt really mean anything to most here) dictates that his numbers will decline due to a lousy QB. so keeping him and TRYING to trade him next year will backfire because his value will plummet further. right now his value is highest regardless of what levarage he has or doesnt have. we could trade him right now for, oh i dont know, MAYBE SOME ACTUAL D-LINE TALENT!! Darnell Dockett wants out of Arizona, send Marshall there, then Arizona sends Boldin somewhere for a draft pick. everybody wins and we dump a guy who may be suspended anyway. because he more then likely will be suspended afeter his trial in september.

  • Sam

I have said it over and over get something for him now he will self destruct his way out of here and we will get nothing for him. He he good yes, do I wish he wanted to play here yes. But he has to many troubles and if he thinks he is not happy he is no good for us.

  • robtink242

marshall isnt going be suspended. the media is dangerous and can destroy a persons image. the only way marshall can fully redeem himself is by having a monster season. but when there is no football going on people’s imaginations run out of control. On the other hand marshall needs to ge is life in order. It’s quite appearent everything is not together.

Kerry there are plenty of guys besides Dockett (whom i love for this team). dont foget Shaun Rodgers isnt happy out there in cleveland. there are two ways we can go; get a proven vet to teach Baker, and Parker or get a young stud. lets just focus on the front seven cause thats the area that needs to be organized. But dont get me wrong QB is the least talented group.

  • kerry

    Robtink:

yeah i say the Broncos go after Haloti Ngata. the Ravens want Marshall, we NEED NEED NEED D-line help. thats a fair swap.

  • Tim Greenwood

I think guys need to no both sides of every story except the dui he obviousley said that he hates this f***ing city because he was pissed at the police and drunk and the whole wife beating thing she was probabley hit him to so just like any other fight after so much beating you must fight back and who knows and who cares why he hurt his arm on the Mcdonalds bag its his life the only thing you cant excuse is the DUI he put that one on himself but every does atleast one thing dum in there life and thats is my feelings about brandon and i hope he just toughs it out stays in denver for many years and beats all rod smith records and enters the ring and hall of fame

  • Nicole

If this incident occured in 2007 then why is it being talked about now? I don’t defend the drinking and driving, but it apparently has already been handled. This wouldn’t even be talked about right now had he not asked for a trade. He was drunk and probably didn’t know what he was saying at the time. If you don’t want Brandon on your team there are teams that will trade for him. This is not a “clean” league and there are things going on with players that we never hear about so either keep him, pay him the money, and leave him alone or trade him off and get some picks for him. That’s the only solution for everyone.

  • http://broncotalk.net Joe

    Kerry-

So you want us to f*** up the only decent thing we have, our offense, for a single player for our horrible, unrepairable defense? Its gonna take a whole lot more than just one lineman to fix our defense….But hey, maybe we should just stack our defense by trading away all of our offense talent. Than we can just lose by less, right? The opposing team can just kick field goals on us all day as our offense gets laughed at. This team is in for a loooong season, with or without Marshall, with or without one huge and talented d-lineman. Just make sure that your super hammered while watching the game and hope that you pass out right before the final score and cross your fingers that your wont remember anything when you wake up.
And this is coming from a die-hard Broncos fan. But no QB=No success. I don’t care what any of you think about Jay, you all still wish he was still on our team. Than hey, we might be able to go 6-10 with our schedule this year, rather than go lower than that……
Imagine what we could do if we had Jay, Marshall, Knowshon, Royal, Stokely, Graham, Sheffler, Gaffney, and Hillis for people who could all do something with the ball……

Oh well, Maybe in another 10 years we will find another franchise, young, PRO-BOWL QB, and hell, maybe we can do this all over agian.

Whats even funnier is that the Lions went 0-16, but yet WE are still the laughing stock of the NFL. We never used to be in any news, not we just get laughed at all the time.

Sit down and buckle up your seatbelts fellow Bronco fans, we’re in for one hell of a bumpy season!!

  • robtink242

nicole thats why i had my statement about how the media acts. marshall images is tarnished no matter what its up to him to have a great season to kill all that shit.

  • Katch22

Kerry why do you come on this site? Your not a fan and you sound like a bad circus fortune teller. Nobody really likes you in case you haven’t noticed. You talk down to people to make yourself feel better is that it? I mean thats what it sounds like but then again all of us lack “common sense” right? It must be hard being better than everybody, and don’t give me the “I’m just being real” talk. Everybody has their issues but to be perfect and know everything, that’s just UNREAL!!!

  • Katch22
  • anthony33

If the Broncos get the right offer, yes, trade him now. However, I think we make him come to camp (use the advantage we have) and wait it out. You never no how the season is going to go, but his trade value is fairly high now and might decline by the end of the season if he has a bad year. I think his speak value will be 2-5 weeks into the season when players start going down. If they can’t cut the right deal now, wait until then and see if someone gets anxious.

Great athlete, but a slug. He will end up in jail at some point. No doubt.

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

B Marsh …great talent , but dumb as a brick… Is anyone actually surprised at this?

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

That 06 Draft Class is looking worse and worse every year, I guess Shanny didnt really care about character… or intelligence when selecting guys like (culter, marshall)

  • Estes2SD

I hate to agree with Kerry,
but his trade value is higher now than it will be down the road. Send the thug back to Florida “Psychoville” and let Marshall be the Mayor.

  • Stav

This is a non-story. Doesn’t matter where he plays, if this asshole behaves the way he does you can insert any city’s name in that “I hate _ _ _ _ _” line. An asshole is an asshole wherever he plays. Does he think that he’ll get a pass on domestic abuse and DUIs in other cities? Be my guest and go find out for the right trade. Force him to camp and if the right trade pops up, see you later. As much as I love his talent on the field, what does his past track record tell us? He’ll be behind bars or facing a major suspension within the next two years. Is he suddenly going to be able to stop abusing women? No, I don’t think so. Time to cut bait fellas, BUT only for the right package. I’m not saying McKinley is his replacement, but a few of us said that drafting him was a little msg to #15. What’s this guy worth though? A #2nd and a #3rd rounder? A #1 and a #4th? I’d take either one which would easily give us trade up value for next year IF NECESSARY based on what happens this season. I don’t know. The only issue is that his off-field behavior is leverage against us in a trade, but I’m sure that there’s one or two teams out there wouldn’t care about that, Cincy or Cleveland, but we’d have to send this guy out of the AFC hopefully. I’m sure Dallas would be calling if trading him becomes reality, (shanny would be hiding quietly in the background of Jerry Jones call to Bowlen).

  • milehighs

I hate denver to.Suckest team ever traded the best futer qb ever in the history in the nfl.Dumb idiots crap on that hole franchise.I just cant belive those idiots make millons of dollers. They should all get kiked in trhge nuts for thier stupitity.

Hay Cutler I wish you well, rubb it in thier faces for 16 years.Like John Elway did the Colts.

Ya I said it if you guys dont like it.Then your blind of the truth and you will have a long 15 years.Whith me on this sight saing BRONCOS FRANCHISE STUPID IDIONT.

GIVE A SWIF KICK IN THE PRIVET PARTS TEN TIME EVERY DAY UNTIL CUTLERS IS NO LONGER PLAYING NFL FOOT BALL.

  • milehighs

GOOD JOB BRANDON MARSHALL LEAV THIS SINKING SHIP I WOULD.
GO BE THE BEST QB FOR A TEAM THAT DESERVES IT.

PAT BOWLEN NEED TO RETIRE.OLD BASTERD IS LOOSEING HIS MIND.

  • Stav

Cutler, I can tell it’s you by your terrible grammar, but can you stop submitting your hate-posts? We’ve moved our venom from you to Marshall.

  • http://myspace.com/paraleipsis jchase8410

Why is Brandon Marshall considered a top receiver in the NFL? don’t get of wrong, he is a good player, but i just don’t see what everyone else sees. is it the fact that he caught a lot of balls? That’s not hard to do when you are targeted more than any other receiver in the game. Is it the fact that he loops backwards after every catch, losing more YAC than he gains? It must be his red zone performance. oh wait, his 15 career touchdown receptions. There are 3 or 4 receivers who did that last season.

  • roshon2411

    Kerry,

You really think the Ravens will trade Haloti Ngata for Marshall? One it’s not a fair trade and two Marshall will be lucky to pick up a 2nd round pick. Remember Cutler was traded for Ayers, Smith and Orton. Marshall won’t get close to that.

  • http://myspace.com/paraleipsis jchase8410

I know, maybe it is the fact that he has almost no threat as a down field receiver. Then again it could be his pedestrian yards per catch numbers. He is a good receiver, he makes some great plays, but to call him a top receiver in the NFL is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. Catching a lot of balls is good, and he moves the chains with a lot of first downs. I like him on my team, I really do. I an just saying he has a long way to go before I label him elite.

  • Stav

It goes both ways for QB’s and WR’s, they make each other. QB has got to put the ball on the numbers without getting the WR killed, and the WR has to make something out of nothing when the ball is caught. But when you have a QB whose throwing to you regardless of double coverage when two other WR are open, then you are going to see some balls, as well as drop your share. WITH Marshall they have an elite wr CORPS, but to label him individually elite is ridiculous. When he starts breaking double digits in tds then we can discuss this. I don’t find 12.2 yds per catch to be elite at all, that speaks more to his refusal to run north-south after the catch in favor of east-west to go for the big play, which is usually where his fumbles show up. A very good receiver? yes. Too many drops/fumbles and too few TD’s.

  • kerry

    Roshon:

well they probably wouldnt because Ngata is a hell of a talent. BUT, if the Ravens feel they have enough depth on the D-line to part with him then they just might considering how bad they need WR. im saying that IF a deal was to be worked out the Broncos should ask for Ngata instead of draft picks.

  • kerry

    Katch22:
well see ive never claimed to know everything. thats your assumption. i call it like i see. and last i checked im not required to post how you think i should post. and if you dont like it then just skip over my posts and quit whining about what i have to say. quite a few happen to agree with many things that i post.

nobody likes me? so? i didnt realize this was a popularity contest. i come here to post my thoughts and analysis of the Broncos just like anyone else does. you just dont like it because i dont view this team in the kool-aid drunken, “everything is wonderful” look like you and most others do. when i see something positive then ill comment on it. but right now, in case you havent noticed, there arent many things positive going on in Bronco land. but i sure as hell am not gonna sit and PRETEND that everything is great.

  • Stav

I hear that, give me proven talent over potential talent. And Ngata is only 25. No one can stop us from dreaming.

  • http://Raji mauibroncofan

This is story reminds me of something the MSM would write. trying to make a story on a slow day while the Broncos are very quiet about it and possibly trying to work it out. This kind of story is what made me leave the DP and go to the blogs. This should be a positive site, not one trying to open wounds.

  • Broncomania

Brandon Marshall is a good receiver but he is in a bad situation with no leverage to negotiate any deals. I loved watching the Cutler to Marshall combo last year, but lets be honest. Any NFL team can have success throwing the ball if the QB is given enough time. Cutler reaped the benefits of having left tackle Ryan Clady watching his back along with an offensive line that only allowed 12 sacks last year.

Bronco fans just have a little faith in what McDaniels has done thus far. It is unfair to put all the blame on McDaniels for Cutler wanting to leave. Cutler should have been man enough to talk it out with the owner and coach.

We should keep in mind that McDaniels has a pretty good success record when it comes to QB’s and a high scoring offense. Marshall should sit the bench until he grows up. The Broncos will be just fine without him, probably even better because the team is more balanced now with a potentially awsome running game. The offense will be spread out more with Moreno to throw the ball to out of the back field. I expect Eddie Royal to have a break out year too.

  • kerry

but hey on a positive note, the Nuggets are in the process of resigning the Birdman! best sports news Denver has had in months.

  • NathanH47

Kerry, i’d have no problem trading him right now if we got a great deal in return, but that was the point of my first post, we won’t get that right now, so why trade him for nothing? If he can play even average and not get suspended this season not only do we gain a good player on the field this year, but more importantly we’ll gain a lot more when we trade him next year.

And get it through your thick head that McDaniels has nothing to do with trading Brandon Marshall, he’s not the GM!!!! He’s a coach, see…how nearly every NFL team is ran in the NFL. Things are different now that Shanny is gone.

  • kerry

    nathan47:

yeah McDaniels isnt the GM. at least not in name. Xanders is a freaking puppet like Sundquist was when Shanahan was here. MCDaniels doesnt have the GM title because Bowlen wants it to look like there is a GM above McDaniels. when in all actuality Xanders is a puppet.

  • robtink242

yeah Kerry is right. But i do think that this team needs a true GM. Until McDaniels becomes a more experience office person to avoid a lot of his rookie eras

  • Jon Krause

who cares? he was DUI = DRUNK
if u were drunk in ur crazy city in traffic and ur job was a pain what would u say? oh hey sounds like what marsh said 2 years ago

btw anybody have a link 2 the NFL FILMS tope 10 most feared tackelers w/ lynch and atty

  • Rob Bronco

Who cares … this isn’t news. Marshall isn’t going anywhere for a while. Bowlen has tightened the reins a bit with McDaniels, and I can guarantee you that he was told not to seek out trades for Marshall. Marshall will play out his contract and he’ll be gone as a free agent.

  • http://BroncoTalk.net Mr.East

    mauibroncofan,

I understand what you mean. However, If we didn’t report stories like this then we’d be turning a blind eye to important issues players have been involved with. Some accuse me of drinking the koolaid, but I will not let a drunk driving and loud mouthed moron off the hook. This is nothing about a slow news day seeing how I only write about the things I want to. It’s not that I’m trying to be negative, it’s that I’m not trying to let players off the hook by sweeping all their dirt underneath the carpet. That isn’t ethical.

I love the Broncos and I hate drinking and driving so of course I was going to write an article about this. I’m not the biggest fan of PFT but I think the police blotter they have is great. It lets everyone know exactly who is messing up and why. When you become an NFL player this is the life you sign up for, they teach you this at the Rookie Symposium, so don’t mess up.

Brandon Marshall makes more money in a few games than some people make in a few years, the contract he complains about. Why couldn’t he afford a limo? Even a taxi? If Marshall actually said what was reportedly said then that’s despicable. Who cares if he was drunk? If you cheat on your girlfriend while your drunk she doesn’t just understand and instantly forgive you.

    Kerry,

How long has Xanders been the GM? And you already know for a fact the he’s a puppet? Give me a break. You act like you’re a fly on the wall of every room of every person on the staff and roster. Whether you’re right doesn’t mater because you have no way of knowing.

  • http://BroncoTalk.net Mr.East

    Rob Bronco,

According to quotes it seems that it was the other way around. Bowlen was quoted by Marshall saying he was willing to trade him and McDaniels said “I’ll see you in camp.”

  • http://broncomadness.com Jon Krause

he “hates this @#$%^&* city” cuz Darrent Williams was slain there!

  • Vince_Marine

    Well said Mr. East!

  • http://dcloughdesign.com David

I am just about done with the NFL. I am becoming more and more of a college football fan every day. I am so tired of all of the bs in pro football.

  • kerry

    East:

come on man. use some god damn common sense. there is a reason why Xanders has been completely non exsistant during this whole offseason, because he is a puppet. the guy is a GM in name only.

read between the lines man. its like for years everybody thought Ted Sundquist was making decisions when in fact Shanahan was the one making them all. if its not obvious that MCdaniels is calling the shots then you are blind. Bowlen says to Marshall, “we will trade you”. McDaniels says, “we will see you in camp” is Xanders anywhere to be found? nope. not anywhere around. and Marshall hasnt been traded, so obviously McDaniels is calling the shots. Bowlen put Xanders as a “GM” to make it look like he wasnt making the same mistake as he did with Shanahan by letting the coach run everything. McDaniels just doesnt have the title of GM.

i mean seriously you never questioned why a REAL GM was never brought in? Scott Pioli was available and Bowlen let him go to a division rival. if Pioli was here, McDaniels wouldnt be running shit. if a GM who could actually take charge of the front was here then this team would be in alot better position instead of letting some ego maniac head coach call the shots.

  • anthony33

    Jon,
BM hates this city because Williams was slain here???

I don’t know but a couple of actual facts in this case, but it was well reported, and never refuted BTW, that it was BM’s big. loud, ignoant mouth that set the whole thing off.

He is a complete loser that is well past changing. If you have not noticed, he is grown up, and what you see is what he is.

  • kerry

yeah you would figure after 13 incidents with the police it would show he is incapable of change. but for some reason people keep saying “Oh come on Brandon, we wanna see you change and grow up” PFFFFFFTTTTT. isnt gonna happen. 13 incidents is 12 too many.

  • broncoNM

The national media is relentless… They smell blood around dove valley and they are pouring it on… I appreciate East and the gang posting this but this is just the media “kicking a dead horse”. The media knows that there is drama in denver so they are not leaving any rock unturned.
Its a little early to know if GMX is a puppet… Im not buying into that conspiracy theory.

I agree with NathanH… If we get a trade deal that we cant pass up we send BM packing… If not we hold on to him… Im on board for Marshall for Ngata trade. I doubt Ozzie would go for it but McD might as well make a call to Baltimore and see what happens. We are a little over a month away from preseason… Im ready for this off season to end!
