McDaniels Too Ill to Make the Sanchez Scouting Trip

Update:  According to ESPN; McDaniels had been struggling with migraines over the course of Monday night.  Xanders and McCoy ran Sanchez through writing out plays on a board for about 45 minutes and then broke down what if scenarios in certain situations.  Afterwords they had the QB take it outside where the threw close to 90 balls for the scouting team.

The Denver Post is reporting that Josh McDaniels become ill in the middle of Monday evening and did not travel to Los Angeles this morning to make the Mark Sanchez scouting trip at the quarterback’s former high school.  The NFL rumor sites are abuzz playing this as something more than the head coach being sick, but no word on whether there is reason to believe that is the case.  McDaniels was expected however to be at the Broncos headquarters today.  The team scrambled to book offensive coordinator Mike McCoy to join GM Brian Xanders on the trip.

    i’ve been doing a lot of research and thinking, and here’s who i would draft if i were the broncos, in order of importance and assuming all players are available at one of our picks,
    12 – jackson
    18 – jennings
    brace
    hood/chung
    rhett bomar
    glen coffee
    and colt mccoy next year

    I like it. Jackson and jennings would be good. Hood’s probably going to go in the last 1st early 2nd range. But I like B.J. Raji, Tyson Jackson, Everette Brown, any USC LB. Any two of the 6 I would like to be a bronco.

    i like brown over jennings at 18. also if we plan on taking mccoy next yr (which i am ok with at this point), i dont think we should take a qb in this draft- focus on defense. if mcd wants a third qb- sign a undrafted fa to a 1 yr contract.
