The Denver Broncos commissioned Adrenaline Inc. to design the official 50th anniversary logo.  It commemorates the half a century mark since the team played their first AFL game (along with seven other new teams that year) against the Boston Patriots, Sept. 9th 1960.  The Broncos won their first game 13-10.  Adrenaline also helped design the Broncos Country logo for the organization.

    looks cool guy

  • Rob Bronco

That logo is awesome! Rock on, Bronco Country!

  • Just SomeBroncosfan

Really? You both think it’s great?

    I think it’s totally uninspired…. especially for a 50th…..

I love the broncos, and I love where we are at(believe it or not)… but this just seems like amateur hour…

  • flbronc

I like it ok…. i would have liked to see the old D incorporated in there somewhere. i’m sure i’ll end up ordering a hat or something with that logo just because….

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

Why would they use the newest logo to represent the past 50 years? I guess its because the superbowl’s were won with the new uni’s , but we did make it to other superbowls in the old uni’s. I think they should have used the old school logo.

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

looking at it again, this logo could have been done by a 13 year old… i’m not impressed, we deserve more effort.

  • http://www.broncotalk.net Josh Temple

I think it’s classy looking. But I’m with flbronc, I would’ve loved to see something spanning the four different logos.

  • Boisebroncoguy

    I want vertical striped socks!

  • http://www.broncotalk.net Josh Temple

It has that Invesco Field corporate aesthetic to it.

  • Rob Bronco

I like that it’s kind of plain and not overly flashy. It’s a simple statement, but a strong one as well.

  • http://myspace.com/paraleipsis jchase8410

    -10
I could have made that on the generic paint program that comes with every PC. I wonder how much money they paid for that unbelievably dull logo. Some guy. At the company must have spent a whole 15 mins on that project…I’m totally not impressed.

  • http://mrherculesrockefeller.blogspot.com hercules rockefeller

Is it going to be a patch or something?

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

THE DRAFT is 15 days away!!! I can’t wait …

  • DHB

They paid for that? It looks fine, but it hardly captures 50 years of tradition. No ugly “D”, no ugly socks, no images of old mascot designs? It looks like a bumper sticker they had already designed and they slapped a “50” and the years on it. Hey Mr. Bowlen, how about an open fan competition for a design, and the winner gets VIP treatment at a game or two?

  • Andpark

The more I see of him the more I like Sanchez, big strong arm, smart…. Oh wait this post isn’t about the Broncos QB’s? Graphic design? Sure!

I think FAIL, you can’t really read Denver Broncos, or really see the logo, just a oddly shaped football and a huge 5-0.

Really though, Sanchez is falling down draft boards fast, I know we need that D Line big time but what if we can even get him at 18? Jump then?

  • http://www.broncotalk.net Josh Temple

This as a sticker would look nice on the back of my Cadillac. That is of course if I owned a Cadillac.

  • MILEHIGHS

i wish they wuold of gone with the old denver broncos uniform.i would like to see them play in old uniforms one last time.

  • MILEHIGHS

broncos biggest mastake in the history in the nfl.want jay cutler back.

  • kerry

um all logos aside, 1960 to 2009, according to math, is only 49 years. not 50. maybe im just not good at math. lol

Bill Williamson lists Kiper’s newest Mock Draft predictions for the 1st 4 rounds. Not the dream draft that most of us would want, but i’d be very happy if this were the outcome (i.e. Defense):

No. 12: Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU
No. 18: Everette Brown, DE, Florida State
No. 48: Ron Brace, DT, Boston College
No. 79: Asher Allen, CB, Georgia
No. 84: Louis Murphy, WR, Florida
No. 114: Chip Vaughn, S, Wake Forest

  • Aerobroncos

Hey bronco nation!!! I just graduated from basic training yesterday and its so great to be able to come back online to bronco talk. I cant believe all that’s been going on and I’ve got a lot of reading up to do. I’m officially a soldier in the US army now and my next destination is to Ft. Sam Houston to be trained to be a medic. just wanted to touch back in with broncotalk b/c i missed it so damn much! Go Broncos

  • kerry

    Jaiu:

hmmm. that draft seems good except the Everette Brown pick. Kiper can be dumb sometimes.

  • Jaiu

    @ Kerry

True, but i’m even hesitant about Tyson Jackson. i guess my angle is that i hope we don’t hear a QB’s name, or worse: traded up to get that QB.

  • kerry

    Jaiu:

yeah a QB at anytime in the first 3 rounds would be bad. but why leary about Tyson Jackson? his stock is actually rising due to good pro days. are you leary because the last SEC DE we drafted is a joke? (Jarvis Moss) because some people are actually leary for that very fact.

  • Jaiu

    @ Kerry

The 1st few reports i’ve read were that he may not be a good fit for a 3-4 Defense and that Raji would be the better choice. But since then, Raji’s stock took him all the way up to a top 5 (in some mocks) and our “Franchise” QB is now a Bear. My hesitation is pretty much based on “drafter’s remorse” – especially with the situation the Broncos find themselves in this off season.

  • MIAbronco

i just found our next clinton portis,

i go to drafttek.com for their mock draft, and they predicted us taking lesean mccoy out of pittsburgh, the guys a beast and would look good in a bronco uni

  • stav

LB anyone? What happened to Maualuga/Laurinaitis/Cushing at 18? I agree, #12 is a d-line pick, obviously the best one available, but we need a linebacker.

  • kerry

    Jaiu:

every report i read and all the scouts and Analysts say tyson Jackson is the best 3-4 DE in this draft and is the perfect size for it. Charley Casserly has even compared him to Richard Seymour of the Patriots.

    Stav:

we dont need a LB. with Moss and Dumervil moving to OLB we have rush LB’s. DJ and Boss can play middle or DJ and Larsen or DJ and Davis. we actually have quite a few LB’s when you think about it. a better D-line will make all these LB’s better. im saying if we dont Raji then we get Jackson at 12 and Brace at 18. or trade down a little from 18 and get Brace anyway.

  • kerry

oh and i forgot to mention Wesley Woodyard.

  • MIAbronco

mauluega will not be a bronco, and laurinitis will not be a first round pick, if either of those two is drafted by the broncs in the first round i will consider the draft a bust, better yet, an explosion of busting. we need raji, if hes not there, then jackson at 12, at 18 if hes there should be cushing, if not we should trade down and get brace in the second, also conner barwin could be one of our third round picks

  • kerry

    Miabronco:

you and i both like Connor Barwin. but after his great combine and pro day, he wont last to the third round. he is projected a mid to high second round pick. Jackson and Brace in the first, the Barwin in the second. third round i could see Ricky Jean-Francois out of LSU to play 3-4 DE as our first 3rd round pick then maybe a safety like Rashad Johnson for our 2nd third round pick,

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

    kerry

You think Brace will go in round 1? I’m assuming you base that on Raji not being there at 12, and not waiting for Brace in round 2?

  • kerry

    Dee:

yes exactly. i think Brace could go in the end of round one anyway due to the lack of big NT’s. a team like the Steelers could take him due to Casey Hampton geting a little long in the tooth. so im saying Brace in the first for us. after him there isnt any NT. i say grab him at 18 or trade to 21 and get him. but one way or another he needs to be gotten IF Raji doesnt fall to 12.

  • Jaiu

    Kerry

i’ve seen/heard reports that Jackson can be sluggish, probably won’t rack up too many sacks, has a hard time shedding blocks, etc. Yet all the reports still agree that he’s a top pick, so i’m still hopeful. And the last time this Franchise had a D-liner named jackson, he had a pretty good career. Thanks for the optimism.

Any word on when Marshall will find out about his playing time next season? M. Lynch got 3 games and he was actually charged. Curious to see how that affects Brandon’s outcome.

  • MIAbronco

i competed against rick jean francois in high school in track and field, that guy was a man child from day one, i always thought he would be projected a first rounder, but missing the entire season before winning a nat champ really must have hurt his status. for a big bo he can really move. i continued to compete against him in college(he always kicked my ass) when he did throw, and i remember seeing him for the first time in like 2 years and he had to have put on like 40 lbs and he was still movin.

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

    Kerry

I can see where you’re going with that. Also I would be all for moving down to 21 if Brace is your guy and getting an extra 3rd or 4th round pick out of it. I like the reasoning…I have a feeling they might go DE with both 12 and 18. I would also be shocked if they draft Rey M at 18.

  • MIAbronco

i hate to this guys, but rey m will probably be a charger

  • kerry

    Jaiu:

oh yeah i know that Jackson wont get many sacks. but 3-4 DE’s dont every get alot of sacks no matter how good they are. they are basically used for eating up O-linemen so the LB’s can flow to the ball or the safety can come on the zone blitz. i like Jackson for his strength and size. i know he wont get alot of sacks but no 3-4 DE does. unless you are Bruce Smith.

    Dee:

not only would i be shocked if we drafted Maualuga but id be pissed off! we dont need any LB in the first round with all the guys we have now. most keep forgetting about Boss Bailey and Spencer Larsen. and the fact Moss and Dumervil are moving to the outside as 3-4 OLB’s. we have a alot of LB’s now. but i do really like Connor Barwin in the second round as a 3-4 hybrid LB/DE.

  • kerry

Maualuga can go ahead and be a Charger. he is only a 2 down LB anyway so he wont be on the field much. he can hit but that doesnt make him a good MLB. he is like Nate Webster. lots of fire and hitting ability but no true fundamental skill set. he is more of a Product of having Clay Matthews and Brian Cushing around him then anything.

  • Jaiu

fwiw: i’m glad that the thread is focused on the draft and Defense. Getting a lot of insight on potential picks and it’s very refreshing to not see any talk about the trade that happened on the other side of the ball.

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

    Jaiu

I think I responded to your question about BMarsh and his suspension but it didnt get posed.

I think because of the recent suspension to Marshawn Lynch of 3 games , BMarsh better get prepared for a long suspension. Lynch is a 2nd time offender, however Bmarsh has had more than 2 incidents (granted he was not convicted for all of them. ) I think Marshall will get at least 4 games, however would not be surprised if he got 8 games.

Once again I think the commish will take into consideration that Bmarsh is a star in the league and fans love to watch him on the field, but I feel there have been too many incidents not to command an 8 game suspension.

So bottom line, hope for 4 games but I expect an 8 game suspension.

This is the latest update from ESPN and everyone’s favorite Bronco reporter:

NFL is still reviewing Marshall’s case

    April 10, 2009 3:25 PM
    Posted by ESPN.com’s Bill Williamson

Many readers have asked if the NFL’s investigation into Brandon Marshall’s off-field issues has been completed since the league just announced a three-game suspension for Buffalo running back Marshawn Lynch.

A league spokesman said Friday that Marshall’s situation is still under review. Lynch was arrested Feb. 11. Marshall was arrested 18 days later after a domestic dispute.

Charges were dropped the day after Marshall was arrested. It was Marshall’s fourth arrest in three years. He was suspended by the league for three games last year but it was knocked down to one game after an appeal.

The Broncos are bracing themselves for a potential suspension of their star receiver. Last month, new Denver coach Josh McDaniels said he was concerned about the situation.

    Kerry

I’m not saying we should, but if we do draft Mauluga I would be just fine with it. I got to see him play in person several times this past year and that guy has heart along with some skills. Our D needs an identity and people with some heart. The only thing a insidebacker needs to do in a 3-4 is support the run and smack people around and that is exactly what he does. People said the same things about Polamalu and he’s doing the same things he did in college in the next level.

oh by the way Metallica sucks.

  • walton

    Kerry,

    It’s the 50th season of Broncos football, not 50 years, that’s why it’s 1960 to 2009.

  • DC

I’d be more worried if Beanie is a charger.

  • walton

yeah i’d be more worried if Beanie is a charger too, I also don’t mind the pick of Malaluga either. He was injury prone this year and the scouts question if he can play, but every pick has question marks. I like him because he played with passion and has fun playing the game. I’ll take anyone like that. Champ plays that way, and this D has needed someone to bring excitement the way Champ does. I like D.J. Williams but he is too quiet. Woodyard has it but not necessarily the skill set. I’ve very open to anyone they draft but I hope they don’t trade up and they don’t reach for a player that they think “fits their system”(aka Jarvis Moss).

  • http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3983805 WhidbeyBronco

Lynch had a gun and pot… never mind that he wasn’t charged, BM wasn’t either. BM’s gonna get 4-8 games for getting beat up by a girl? How’d Lynch get off so easily for his second offense would be my question. (But then, since when is a legal pistol in his trunk a concealed weapon?)

No. 12: Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU
No. 18: Everette Brown, DE, Florida State
No. 48: Ron Brace, DT, Boston College
No. 79: Asher Allen, CB, Georgia
No. 84: Louis Murphy, WR, Florida
No. 114: Chip Vaughn, S, Wake Forest

I’ll take that draft! Would that we didn’t have those extra picks with so few exciting picks out there but at least we’d be concentrating on defense!

I’d comment more on the options out there but you all seem to have pretty much covered it all. Nice thoughts folks, good to see we real fans on the same page. Let’s just hope the powers that be are reading your comments!

Oh yeah, I like the logo. Simple.

  • http://myspace.com/paraleipsis jchase8410

Marshawn Lynch has a hit and run, as well as a gun charge, and he gets 3 games. If BMarsh gets more than 3 games for a domestic Disturbance Charge that was dropped in less than 24 hours, it will confirm my theory that Everybody hates the Broncos.

My top 3 picks for the upcoming draft are pretty much the same as Kerry’s. I like Raji, Jackson, and Brace.

man you just commited SERIOUS AND UNFORGIVABLE BLASPHEMY. Metallica rules. and to say they suck is serious lack of music knowledge. even people who like Country or rap acknowledge Metallica’s greatness and huge accomplishments. they set the standard for metal and new genre hard rock. they defined metal and hard rock. end of story.
