Starting Internet Rumors about Terrell Owens

The Cowboys have officially confirmed that they have released Terrell Owens. They are going to take a $9M salary cap hit by doing this, but with his welcome more than worn out the team decided this was a small price to pay for a healthier team morale.

So, just to stir up another internet rumor, do you think McD & Company will be interested?

The case against signing TO for personality and morale issues is strong (and well known), so I won’t even attempt to go into that… I’ll assume you all know the negatives on that point. The other negatives for me would be his price tag. The Cowboys, just last year, signed him to a 4-year deal worth $34M. And, as I stated, he’s going to cost them $9M against their cap this year after releasing him. So, with the work we need to do on the defensive side of the ball, can we afford to drop that kind of cash for a player with Owen’s baggage.

The case FOR pursuing Owens is the possible Brandon Marshall suspension, plain and simple. If Brandon gets the max he could be out for half the year, and that would sideline our most talented wideout.

So, just for kicks and giggles what are your thought? Would you like to have T.O. and Baby T.O. on the roster for at least this year? Would McD and Xanders even consider it? Sound off Broncosnation… let’s hear what you think!

    We should sign TO, only if there’s an new experimental procedure for a lobotomy that allows you to function at the same physical level, and while we’re at it, management should get one too if this is even considered as a realistic move. Everyone who says to sign him, give me a break, 0-3 on three teams all because he is team/lockerroom/chemistry POISON. I’d like to hear Dawkins take on TO while he was a chicken. This is all we need Cutler & TO together, what the hell, they may be soulmates.

    Stokley needs to go, does anyone remember the pass he dropped against Buffalo? I do … I lay awake thinking about it … But seriously TO is not a fit here, and I’m joking about Stoke he’s good for another season and we’ll see from there.

    jchase . . . good points made . . . . still do not want T.O. in Denver for any time or any reason . . . .

    just a couple stats on Jay Cutler . . . our over-sensitive Q.B. . . . in 1993 John Elway threw for 4,030 yds. ( his most ever to that date) and 25 T.D.’s . . . it was his 11th yr. in the NFL . . . Jay Cutler threw for 4,526 yds. and 25 TD’s in his 3rd yr. and made the Pro-Bowl . . . and unfortunately either Q.B. during this time had crap for a defense to back him up . . .

    This is going to change this year . . . not only has the offense improved with the competition at RB and the addition of Gaffney at WR . . . but we managed to steal a lightning fast defensive backfield from the Dolfin’s with Hill and Goodman . . . and an All-Pro Brian Dawkins to mentor them along with the Bailey brothers helping tudor and punch the outsides . . . also getting Reid from Indy was huge . . . . and we haven’t even gotten to the draft yet . . .

    This will not be the same defense Bronco fans have endured the last three years! . . . I’ve already posted on other blogs that we will win the Superbowl next year . . . . most tired of hearing negative BS, maybe you are too . . . let’s start looking at the cup 4-5th’s full . . . . this is going to be an exciting year to come!

    I didn’t actually want him on our team either, I just said I would be okay with if it happened. All of this is of course a moot point due to the fact that he agreed to a 1 yr, $6.5mm offer from the Buffalo Bills according to John Clayton.

    I am soooo tired of the negativity around here…we have the talent, let’s gel and start the season with momentum on our side!!
