Every week, we’ll keep you updated on the latest playoff movement from within the division and around the AFC.

TEN PIT
DEN NYJ

First Round Bye
1. Tennessee Titans (12-1, 8-1)
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-3, 8-1)

Other division winners
3. Denver Broncos (8-5, 5-5)
4. New York Jets (8-5, 6-4)

Wild Card
5. Indianapolis Colts (9-4, 8-2)
6. Baltimore Ravens (9-4, 7-3)

On the cusp:
Miami Dolphins (8-5, 6-3)
New England Patriots (8-5, 5-5)

Notes:
Third seed on thin ice — Cheer for the Jets, Broncos fans. The Broncos need the Jets to keep their barely-there lead in the AFC East, as New York, Miami, and New England all sit at 8-5. Since the Broncos are also 8-5, and they lost to both the Fins and Pats, the only way the Broncos stay in the third seed is if the Bretts hold on to the AFC East. It’s shaky ground at best, and the Jets are heading in the wrong direction while the Patriots have a cake walk of a remaining schedule.

Second seed out of sight — The two seed is all but impossible. The Steelers have to lose all three of their remaining games while the Broncos would have to win all three of theirs to catch up. Of course, if the Steelers lose three the Ravens would likely win the division; it wouldn’t matter. The Ravens would just move up to the two seed ahead of the Broncos instead based on a better conference and common opponent record (that’s the problem with winning all your NFC games – they give you nothing in tiebreaker scenarios).

Still have to take care of busines within the division — It’s not done yet. The Broncos still have some business to do, and only two weeks to do it before the Chargers take back control of their own destiny.

Let’s face it: It’s gonna be a first-round home game against (gulp) the Colts. They are going to win out against the Lions, Jags and Titans, who will have nothing to play for in Week 17. As big a Broncos fan as I am, I’m also a realist. Peyton Manning’s resume against Denver in the postseason is incredible. So I’ll celebrate the division title, either this Sunday or next, and then enter January with a nothing-to-loose approach. Might have to go try out for running back if these injuries continue to mount ….

i think a 4-seed against indy & tenn sounds better than a 3-seed against balt & pitt (scariest), bad history with manning notwithstanding.

Well I think the most important aspect to focus on currently is that it is they, the Denver Broncos (not the San Diego Chargers), who face either of those teams! Once that issue is resolved, then worry about possible matchups. I don’t know about you guys, but losing to Indy, Pitt, or Baltimore again wouldn’t even be half as bad as watching the statics and their fans celebrate a division title right in our boys’ faces!

We have never faced Indy in the post season with this offense. I don’t think either D will hold up greatly, but this is the first time that we could possibly win a shoot out with Manning. God I love Cutler.

Our most favorable wild card matchup would be Baltimore. Rookie qb trying to win a road playoff game in cold weather and a hostile environment against champ bailey and dre bly, the way he’s playing. It wont happen.

I will take the playoffs against anyone. The Broncos seem to play to the level of the competition. The better the seed the better the team. Injuries, turnovers, rookies… I don’t care. BRING IT ON.

All of those teams are good. ITS THE PLAYOFFS. They are all good. They all have flaws. Just like the Broncos.

To be the best you have to beat the best. If the Broncos lose to the AFC Champ or Super Bowl Champ, I have no problem with that. As long as bring their best.

Two years of the chargers? Early season exits? Travis Henry? Javon Walker? The chefs rather than the Broncos in the playoffs?

I am tired of all of that crap. Let’s Go! All Ready!

I AGREE WITH PRECISIONTINT, after seeing the Broncos lose to such weak teams, yet seem to have something to prove against a higher ranked team.

I’m anxious to see them play Carolina next weekend, if we stop their strong running game and give Cutler and his offense an opportunity, there is no chance we can lose.

IT’S GONNA BE A GOOD ONE!

    stay tuned..
