Ryan Torain probably done for the season

NFL Network’s Adam Schefter reports that Ryan Torain probably has a torn ACL and unless the MRI shows it to be more benign than that tomorrow, will be placed on Injured Reserve.

That would be four, count them, four running backs to go down for the count this season, leaving only Selvin Young who left the stadium on crutches and might be lucky to hobble onto the field in weeks 16 and 17 at this rate. Peyton Hillis may end becoming the feature back by virtue of there simply not being anyone else.

Maybe I’ll go try out. Think an overweight 37 year old white guy has a shot? Eh, I didn’t think so either.

    Yes Alridge is on IR.

    The Broncos are holding open tryouts for running back, tight end, and linebacker. Football experience preferred, but not required.

    At this point, what RB’s are really out there who could help us? Same w/LB. Are we going w/Woodyard (had 10 tckles)? Are we staying with K2 @ MLB? (didnt look good last night) or do we go with Spencer Larsen? Marrio Hagan’s a big dude, and may be useful in the run stopping effort @LB, but after that, we are extremely thin and fragile…

    Is it just me, or does this whole thing seem like a sick joke. Obviously, every team will get beat up some during a season, and a few teams get beat up pretty bad every once in a while. But why does it seem to happen to the Broncs every year?

    I see no reason why Hillis wouldn’t be successful. He is known to have some of the best hands on the team and was an unbelievable tailback in High School.

    one of the undeniable truths stated through the league is that anyone can come into denver and run for a hundred yards. We’re about to find out if that’s true.

    And earl, you may not make the broncos but al davis is looking for someone to give a multi-million round signing bonus to and then cut.

    Espn has an article up on their site saying the mri showed a torn acl and he is done for the year.

    I forgot Aldridge was on IR. Kenton Keith, Vernand Morency, and Artose Pinner are all available. While all are scaping the bottom if the barrel, they are better than no one.

    time to bring in Cory Boyd. if you dont know who he is check these out. Good footwork. Great north-south runner. only problem is his attitude but I dont think we have room to be picky.
