[Travis Henry]Adam Schefter of the NFL Network reported yesterday that the NFL’s decision on Travis Henry should come down today. While initially the league’s delaying of the decision seemed like a positive for Henry’s camp, I get the feeling not making the announcement Tuesday was more out of respect to Sean Taylor and his family than anything regarding a ruling on the case.

Schefter is usually pretty spot-on (do we expect any less from a Denver alum?), we’ll keep you posted.

Hmmm… 3 days before game day (2 days into game prep)? That makes me think it MORE likely Henry will be cleared. Otherwise, that’s really not cool for the NFL bigwigs.

One fan pointed out that they could easily announce the suspension and have it start next week. Don’t know how good that would look for the NFL to have a guilty player on the field, though.

I tend to agree, if the ruling comes today I would expect it would be good news for the Broncos and Travis.

Do they do that? Generally the suspensions start right away, no? I guess we’ll find out.

Speaking of rumors, this was in Klis’s mailbag:

Mike – What is the status of Brandon Stokley at the end of the season? Are the Broncos looking to extend his contract?
    — Dennis M., Indiana

Dennis – Stokley is playing on a one-year contract so the Broncos would have to extend him to keep him. I think it will happen. Shanahan and quarterback Jay Cutler love him. Stokley and his family seem to like it here. The guy can still get open. He catches everything and he’s been able to stay healthy this year. My guess is Stokley returns but Javon Walker leaves, unless Walker agrees to a major pay cut.

First time I’ve heard anything about Walker leaving. Wow.

Yeah, a lot of fans reacted to that. I disagree for several reasons, but I’ll save that for another post as the season winds down in preparation for 2008.

Hopefully in February if you know what I mean.

I heard elsewhere that Henry will likely be suspended for the full year. Good riddance in my opinion.
