  • No, Jay Cutler did not break his leg. And, NO, Mike Shanahan doesn’t know if he’s play this week – so stop asking! [DenverBroncos.com]
  • The Detroit players can thank the Denver Broncos for their first day off in 22 months. [Mlive.com]
  • The Denver Post has all but declared war on Head Coach Mike Shanahan. And in the case of Mike Klis, he doesn’t even have the cohones to say it… he just picks some Mail Bag letters that bring up the point (repeatedly). Oh, yeah, he defends Shanahan in his answers, but if he really thought that do you think he would have picked THREE letters asking for Mike’s head! If you really want our best hope of a future Super Bowl to leave town, just say it – don’t hide behind some loud mouth fans and a couple of emails. [Denver Post]
  • And if our record, our run defense and our injuries aren’t enough to keep you up at night worrying, here’s some info on how bad our rushing attack is looking this year. [Rocky Mountain News]
  • So, with all this gloom and doom talk is Mike Shanahan ready to use the ‘R’ word? Don’t even THINK about it! [Rocky Mountain News]

TO be fair, Jon, those guys do have to pick letters that are representative of what they’re getting. And I’m sure they’re getting a lot of fire Shanahan stuff right now. Football fans are very fickle.

Jonathan, you’re awesome. I’m really behind on homework for my senior statistics course and he’s jumping on the ball without me even asking.

Even did the daily links… freaking sweet. I completely agree with your opinion on the mailbag by the way.

Miles, Oh, I’m sure sure they’re getting flooded with those types of letter – that’s definitely true. However, three back-to-back fire Shanahan letters was a bit much. Especially after that intro where he describes ALL the letters they’re getting. It’s like he just wanted to keep saying it and saying it.

Well. Mailbags are hard to pick and choose sometimes. If you’re flooded with the mail, that’s what you get to report.

I thought he did a pretty good job of speaking against firing Shanahan.

This was my favorite line from those letters:

“Injuries aside, other than the Pittsburgh game, this team hasn’t played well in nearly two months.”

I’ve been a Broncos fan since 1983, and I haven’t seen the fan base such a bunch of whiny cry babies in that entire time as they are right now. Two months of bad play? Complaints of “bad drafts” that included Moss, Marshall, Crowder, Dumervil? People need to get a grip. Talk about a lack of cojones…

Shanahan is pretty much the winningest coach over the past 12 years and people complain about a two-month stretch? What other team has contended for a playoff spot nearly every single season over that timespan? What other teams haven’t had stretches where they played poorly? Nonsense.

I guess I’ll just stretch out with all this room here on the bandwagon and keep rooting for my favorite team and their coach.

“I guess I’ll just stretch out with all this room on the bandwagon…”

    I call shotgun!

Hey, I’m with you. I think this season may not be salvageable, but I’m not going to get up in arms over a bad season when we’re in transition.

I am very sad about J. Moss going down, though. That’s valuable playing time he loses.
