- Goodbye to Meadows – I hadn’t reported it before the game, mostly out of my own schedule hell, but backup and injured RT Adam Meadows was released last weekend. TE/T Chad Mustard took his spot on the roster – which indicates to me the team needed depth along the offensive line for the game and couldn’t rely on Meadows to step in. It wouldn’t surprise me to see the team talk to Meadows again once he’s healthy.
- Injuries from Sunday – CB Domonique Foxworth is nursing a sprained ankle after the game, and LB Louis Green is dealing with a blow to the head. Tim Crowder is still out with his high ankle sprain, and LG Ben Hamilton continues his doctor-ordered benching.
- Changing of the Guard – You all know I love Montrae Holland – he had some devastating blocks on the right side yesterday. And I’ve been dogging on Chris Myers ever since I saw him miss block after block during the preseason. But I came into the game as objectively as possible, and came out a Myers fan. He did very well on Sunday replacing Hamilton, and it was actually Holland who failed to get in anyone’s face on Jay Cutler‘s one sack in the second half. Both did very well, and I haven’t been this excited about our offensive line in some time.
- To Start, or not to Start – Last week I reported Simeon Rice would get the start. Well, that turned out not to be true. This week it’s being reported again, but I’ll take a wait and see approach this time. Both Rice and Elvis Dumervil had great games, and I’d love to see both these Broncos get more action. Can’t wait for T-Crow to get healthy, either.
