Week 1 Pick ‘Ems

At halftime last night, I actually thought, “Hey I might be wrong about the Saints. They look like a legit team after all.”

31 points later and I wasn’t singing the same tune.

Every week, Jonathan and I will go through and select our weekly winners of each game. Since he’s on the road this weekend at the Toronto Film Festival, I get the benefit of picking weekly contests without the consequences (although if I ace this thing – unlikely – I’ll be including it in the running total).

TEN @ JAC JAC Vince Young is overrated and will fall to earth quickly.
PHI @ GB PHI Philadelphia has had Green Bay’s number for years.
KC @ HOU HOU The Chiefs’ free fall starts in Week 1
DEN @ BUF DEN LET’S GO BRONCOS!
CAR @ STL CAR Panthers shut them out last year.
PIT @ CLE PIT Cleveland will be 0-4 after a brutal opening stretch.
TB @ SEA SEA Seattle has a lot of prove and has that “it” factor.
DET @ OAK DET Close one to call, but the battle of the horrible offensive lines goes to the team with a QB and solid WRs.
ATL @ MIN MIN Not fun to go to the MetroDome in Week 1, Joey Harrington.
CHI @ SD SD Will the Bears be calling for Griese after only one week?
MIA @ WAS WAS I think Washington will bounce back this year and win 7-9 games.
NYG @ DAL DAL Seriously, Tiki, just STFU already.
NE @ NYJ NE I’d be shocked if the Jets stole this one.
BAL @ CIN BAL Hardest one to pick – in the end, I like Baltimore’s defense to stop the Cincy running game. And they have a great secondary.
ARI @ SF SF Close one to call, also. But the Cardinals struggle to stop Frank Gore.

    Wow….No luv for da Raiders at all….and I made a special effort to come in early and leave my “HateMail” and you do that to me….but that’s OK….you will have one wrong for sure….besides….we now have 2 players who are very fimiliar with the Lyons….WR Mike Wiliams and QB McCown….so you have to give the advantage to us….and also we have the “D”….and what so the Lyons have….an old QB who puts up big #’s playing from behind….

    I will be watching the Buffalo Stampeed Sunday Morning before watching the Raiders slice up the “PussyCats”….I want to see if your “DL” can stop anybodies running game….I doubt it but I want to watch anyway….

    Wow…What’s up with the bad vibes….

    My coach never minded if I could not spell….and I just faked my way to a passing grade….but when your out there on the field you can’t fake anything…it’s all on the line and that is where you will loose….on the line….both sides….but maybe you never straped on a jock so your unfimiliar with on the field matters like that….or wait…maybe I did see you with a jock….or something that looked like one….ya know….a donkey with that feeder thing over his mouth and the straps rapped around his big floppy ears….was that really a Jock you were wareing….
