[UPDATE 2:20 PM – Holdman will be held overnight at the hospital, initial diagnosis: spinal cord concussion. The Broncos canceled afternoon practice due this injury and various others, including Sam Adams’ sore knee, Demetrin Veal’s eye poke and Marcus Thomas’ sitting out this morning from a left calf injury.]
New linebacker Warrick Holdman was rushed to the hospital during this morning’s practice. He suffered a head/neck injury when he went for a play against Mike Bell. He was immobilized and carted off the field. After 30-40 seconds, Holdman said the numbness had subsided and he could move his extremities. Full story – Andrew Mason.
Coach Mike Shanahan said that while he’s no expert, Holdman being able to move his extremities is a good sign. Holdman is being taken to Sky Ridge Hospital as a precaution, and everyone at BroncoTalk have their fingers crossed that Holdman will pull through with a full and speedy recovery.
