Week Two saw the San Diego Chargers take control of the division, with every other team in the AFC West losing. Let’s break down what went down last Sunday and what to expect this Sunday from the Broncos’ division rivals.
AFC West Standings | ||||||
Rank | Team | Record | H2H | Division | Common | Conf |
1 | San Diego Chargers | 2-0 | 0-0 | 1-0 | 2-0 | 2-0 |
2 | Denver Broncos | 1-1 | N/A | 0-0 | 1-1 | 1-0 |
3 | Kansas City Chiefs | 0-2 | 0-0 | 0-0 | 0-1 | 0-1 |
4 | Oakland Raiders | 0-2 | 0-0 | 0-1 | 0-1 | 0-2 |
As always, this table is sorted top to bottom by rank, with column headers sorted left to right by the importance of divisional tiebreakers.
Oakland Raiders – 0-2
All you need to know about the Oakland Raiders’ 35-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins Sunday is this: Reggie Bush ran for 172 yards and two touchdowns. Reggie Bush. While he has had decent games in Miami, note that he had 40.1% of that yardage production against the Texans the week before. Oh, also — 22 points to the Dolphins!
On deck: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1). Good luck with that.
Kansas City Chiefs – 0-2
The Kansas City Chiefs “give people nothing to live for” while embarrassing their mothers, fathers, wives, and children. This according to one of their fans on local radio.
On deck: – at New Orleans (0-2). The battle of the winless. I’d be shocked if Nawlins doesn’t — desperately — get in the win column at home this week.
San Diego Chargers – 2-0
The San Diego Chargers off to a hot start? Nah, never seen that before…
UP NEXT – vs. Atlanta (2-0). All kidding aside, this should be one helluva game. I’d favor the Falcons big if they were at home, but that cross-country trip is nothing to scoff at. Especially for defenses. Points will be scored.
