Ty Warren

Ty Warren‘s elbow injury suffered during the second quarter of Sunday’s 31-19 victory turned out to be exactly what Broncos fans feared: an aggravation of the torn triceps that knocked him out of the 2011 season. Head coach John Fox told reporters the news this afternoon only moments after finding it out himself; it is not clear whether the Broncos will place Warren on season-ending Injured Reserve or how they will replace him on the roster.

Update: Warren was placed on Injured Reserve Tuesday.

Warren was playing in his first game since 2009 and his first game since signing a two-year deal with the Broncos in 2011.

Triceps tears usually involve months of recovery time. Warren’s 2012 season, and Broncos career, are both very likely over.

And thus concludes Ty Warren’s tenure as a Denver Bronco…

WoW!! Had hope for this guy to make a huge comeback for us.. SMH! I guess some things are just hard to shake off, Sigh….

  • MrEast

    Malik Jackson should get activated.

  • herc_rock

One of the worst FA signings in recent history.

  • herc_rock

    It should conclude his career.

  • E. Halsey Miles

Well, we just activated Siliga. I expect Warren to IR and Hanie to take his roster spot, at least for now. Siliga has been on the short list of players who get paid more than the practice squad minimum, so the Broncos are clearly high on him.

McDaniels signing, former Patriot, hadn’t played in a year. Seemed like a sure bet…

  • DougEngland

Gosh damn. The Broncos (knocking hard on wood) have avoided the injury bug pretty well, but this sucks.

  • Tim Lynch

Yup. Sealver Siligia…good thing we signed him to active roster!

  • Tim Lynch

Dunno, he was good enough to be the starter heading into the season. It’s sounds like the damage to his tricep is bad enough to be career ending. It’s too bad..

  • Tim Lynch

He is active. :P 4 pass rushers in the game…OMG. My guess is he is still learning the nuances of the various other responsibilities at that position.

  • rcsodak

Next man up. I bet they already have an idea of their new rotation.

  • BetterThanCottonCandy

Needs to be priority in 2013 draft. Anyone know the strength of this years NT/DT D-Line draft class? Hope it is a good one.

  • TD30isMVP

    Expensive two quarters.

  • anthony33

Dang, hate to see this. Seems like a pretty good guy. Father time taking it’s toll. Can’t imagine a tougher position to play than defensive tackle, they take a beating every play.

  • Michael Gibbons

Mcdaniels didn’t sign Ty warren…. Elway did…not a terrible signing guy was playing good enough to start just got hurt. Broncos sign Dan koppen

  • Doom92

Of course… He wont be the only chronic injury person to bite the dust in the coming weeks.
