Ty Warren‘s elbow injury suffered during the second quarter of Sunday’s 31-19 victory turned out to be exactly what Broncos fans feared: an aggravation of the torn triceps that knocked him out of the 2011 season. Head coach John Fox told reporters the news this afternoon only moments after finding it out himself; it is not clear whether the Broncos will place Warren on season-ending Injured Reserve or how they will replace him on the roster.
Update: Warren was placed on Injured Reserve Tuesday.
Warren was playing in his first game since 2009 and his first game since signing a two-year deal with the Broncos in 2011.
Triceps tears usually involve months of recovery time. Warren’s 2012 season, and Broncos career, are both very likely over.
