denver-broncos-blogsDenver Broncos News

  • We all thought Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos were rough in that first half, but Brock Osweiler and the Broncos defense made that feeling significantly worse.  There were some highlights though, so that’s always fun after a painful loss. [DenverBroncos.com]
  • Manning also took his first big hit last night, so at least we got that out of the way.  The good news is, as up and down as Manning was, he led the Broncos to a 10-9 lead at halftime.  He may not always be perfect, but the big thing is, he doesn’t have to always be perfect. [NY Daily News]
  • Defensively, the Broncos were a mixed bag last night.  Us fans also got a taste of what the rest of the league had to deal with back in the days when the Broncos were the best zone blocking team in the league. Those lanes were annoying! [MaxDenver.com]
  • The part of last night that angers me the most is the fact the game took place in Mile High.  For the love of all that is good, why can’t this team win at home anymore?  But hey, at least Peyton Manning is still good, right? [Denver Post]

Manning’s throws look soft and wobbly. The media has always praised him beyond belief and nothing has ever been his fault in his career. I don’t like what I am seeing though and I could care less about bad decisions being made in the preseason. That will correct itself in time. His arm looks flat out weak and there is no reason he shouldn’t be chucking tight spirals.

Most of his yardage was made on lobbed 5 yard throws against a soft prevent defense in the final 2 minutes.

Especially considering he is historically one of the bigger playoff choke artist in the league, teams with good secondary’s will chew that ball speed up.

I feel like Teddy KGB sat me down for a talk. “All your dreams, omph!” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFF3E0Aqdlc

Well, maybe he comes out slinging in week 3, flops a nut straight and I can relax a bit. Hopefully we see Adam Weber play the entire second half too.

Short easy to catch throws are pm’s area of expertise. How many nfl throws do you have, again?

Guess you didn’t hear Peyton’s interview after the game — you know, about how the defense was in zone and the underneath stuff was there all day? It’s a good thing couch fans don’t make the FO decisions for the team.

Oh, and soft and wobbly? Weak? Wow. I guess, then, that the comments by Elway, Fox, McCoy, Gase, Stokley, Decker, and Tamme are uninformed and inaccurate?

What games have you been watching, anyway?

  • TheTroglodyte

Not as many as Tim Tebow

Been watching Manning for years. He doesn’t look right.

Well, Peyton does say he’s not all the way there yet. But I think there was a bit of hyperbole in your comment. Nonetheless, have patience, my friend. He’s a lot better than he was a few weeks ago, and he’s not as good as he will be a few weeks from now. Even so, he is already a significant upgrade over every Broncos QB since Elway.

    I hope you are right!
