Far be it for us to expand on the excellent Andrew Mason, but he was limited to 140 characters there. Let us also consider the lack of depth at defensive tackle in general (especially if Warren were to be released), relying on a top draft pick to make an immediate impact (never a sure thing on the defensive line), and how the Broncos’ top three DT contributors from a year ago are not on the roster (Brodrick Bunkley, Ryan McBean, and Marcus Thomas).

The Broncos know the defensive tackle position IMPROVED last season, right?

I’ve been saying it all along. The Broncos front office has no idea how bad the defensive line situation actually is.

If they don’t get something going this is going to be one long season.

It is hard to see how this is going to work out and have as good a line as they had last year.   As stated three of the top Dl are gone from a line that struggled last year.   Maybe they know something I don’t ( well of course they do!) but it does seem to be a cause for real concern.  Warren has been a total bust, and really is not worth the $$ in my opinion, but he does represent the best option they currently have at DT,  for the run stuffer in the middle.

No wonder Xanders was outta here.

Yup, the front office doesn’t know what it is doing, how dare they fire a guy that collects pay checks but doesn’t come to work…the money would be well spent on another free agent.  The D-line was better last year because of scheme and coaching.  Shanny threw money at the position and it did not get better, this crew is getting low cost guys and coaching them up.  You got two defensive guys on staff with Fox and Del Rio I have a hunch they will be able to solidify the line.  As fans we want the big free agent and the big names in the draft, but we are fans this is their livelihood.

That doesn’t mean they know what they are doing. Losing Bunkley was stupid period.

Paying Bunkley what the Ain’ts paid would have been dumber.

He already got paid $4 million to sit all last season, and now he’s not willing to adjust his contract? Dude, your pushing 40 and coming off missing two complete seasons; Work with us and stop being a Nig Nog. I would look around the league and trade our 2013 2nd round pick for DT.

WOW, love the comments about idiot moves (like we know better) Bunkley was not worth $20million. McBean had better stats and Marcus could not push my mother-in-law. Warren is NOT a team player and we should cut bait (another McDaniels failure).
OK the DL; Fox does not covet big DT’s. He wants speed and movement, hense Wolfe. Mitch Unrein made 2010 for the reason that he pushes the line.
No he will not get franklin or anyone until camp, if then. I can really see the DL as Bannan and Wolfe or Vickerson along with Unrein and Garland.
Some say disaster but NO ONE KNOWS.

They will sign Marcus Stroud by camp if he’s healthy and JDR & JF thinks he can contribute. If not theres plenty of thirty something wornout run stuffers who can probably match what Ty has left in his tank who will sign for the vet min. E and F will never spend big $$ on the position and I sure hope they dont underestimate the the vaule lost in Nunnley’s retirement.

I guess if you don’t want to win that’s true.Â
