Broncos’ McGahee No. 98 in NFLN’s Top 100

The NFL’s network, in a desperate attempt to mention Tim Tebow and generate attention, is releasing it’s Top 100 Players of 2012, as supposedly voted by the players.  On Saturday evening, NFLN released rankings 91-through-100.

One member of the Denver Broncos has already made the list, as veteran running back Willis McGahee comes in at 98th overall.  Somewhat amusingly, McGahee is ranked higher than Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson and lower than New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow.

100.  Chris Johnson, RB, TENN.

99.  Ryan Kalil, C, CAR.

98.  Willis McGahee, RB, DEN.

97.  Donald Penn, OT, TB.

96.  D’Qwell Jackson, LB, CLEV.

95.  Tim Tebow, QB, NYJ.

94.   Marshawn Lynch, RB, BUF.

93.  Cortland Finnegan, CB, TENN.

92.  John Kuhn, FB, GB.

91.  Tony Romo, QB, DAL.

    Not a shot at Tebow. I like Tebow.

    It was a shot at NFLN and everybody else that tries to cash in on his notoriety.

    Certainly McGahee should be rated above the #32 ranked QB in the league. In fact, what is Tebow even doing there in the top 100?

    NFLN releases random list of names, who may or may not be NFL players in hopes of some one watching/talking about their network.

    McGahee only got the yards he got because of the attention Tebow draws. The defense targets Tebow and it always gives Mcgahee the 1st step. Runs that Mcgahee breaks for 10, other elite running backs go for 30+. Tebow is the only reason Mcgahee isnt retired right now. Lets see how his numbers decline this season……………. 

    Broncos fans are absolutely delusional about how good their team is. We dont have to guess or theorize about how good Denver would have been without Tebow…. WE ALREADY KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU WERE ONE OF THE WORST TEAMS IN FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4-12………. Then Tebow takes you to the playoffs….. you ungrateful nitwits. You’re going to suck this season. Defense is old, running backs are old…. Manning was turnover prone even with WRs he spent most of his career playing with, now he has a bunch of rookies……… Denver isnt going to make the playoffs this year. Theyre not going to win a superbowl with Manning. Elway ruined you.

    The system is flawed because the players only vote for their top 20.  That pretty much means that if one or two players vote someone at #1 on their list it will lead to them being in the top 100.  That is how a shit fullback made the list from GB.

    Having said that, I don’t know how you would do it any better.  It would be difficult to have the players actually pick out 100 people.

    I would be more interested to see a selection of NFL GMs have a mock draft for the top 100.  Just like in Madden…

    Then it sure would be nice to see a Tebow banner at the top, like other legends of the team….or at least like Manning did, w/o even playing a down for us.  I know he brought the passion back that was lost for a number of years!

    I don’t design the banners and I don’t have the authority to change them (you’d have to talk to Monty about that).

    But I do know that we don’t have a Jay Cutler banner because while he did some great things as a member of the Denver Broncos, he is still playing in the NFL — but for a different team. Tebow is a similar case.
