Whatever swagger the Denver Broncos had following their six-game win streak has flown out the window. The offensively offense-less Broncos lost 3-7 to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17, dropping their third straight game to finish the 2011 season 8-8.

Tim Tebow‘s fourth quarter magic has been noticeably missing of late. Two late-game comeback opportunities — the staple of the Tebow era in Denver — evaded the Broncos QB today as his last pass was intercepted with a few dozen seconds left in the game. His fumble in the second quarter within striking distance of the Chiefs’ end zone was an even larger game-killer. Tebow finished 6 for 22 for 60 yards and an interception.

The defense held Kansas City to seven points, and the special teams recovered a muffed punt that setup the Broncos’ only three points. Offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and head coach John Fox can share the blame with Tebow for not even scrounging up a measly eight points against Kansas City.

The Broncos can still win the division if the Oakland Raiders lose to the San Diego Chargers today. The Raiders trail 38-26 with less than four minutes remaining.

Thank you kind sir… Glad that is cleared up. Believe me if your positiveness some how helps them beat the Steelers I’ll be the first to commend you cats ;-)… Just not sure there is enough positiveness to pull that one off. Make no mistake however that I will be setting right here in my same recliner rooting for them as if they are the number one seed and wanting to throw stuff at the TV…lol.

BTW, Are you really “a referee”? Back when I was coaching down in Texas I took an officiating gig with the Gulf Coast Referee’s association doing Middle School and JV High School games for two years. What a different perspective on the game. I never gave the Ref’s near as hard a time after that…lol.

No doubt Brayn… Obey the word of Chuck Hubby…lmao!

Even Rodney Harrison who is no fan of Tebow said the WR’s weren’t open. I saw 1 replay that entire game that showed an open Decker. Every other zoomed out replay the Broncos WR’s were covered. Every single one. I think you may be taking that one play Sims showed and talked about and applying it to the whole game man. Those WR’s were covered.

You may or may not be right on Tebow but you are so off on Fox it’s scary lol. Fox has always been one of if not the most conservative coach in the NFL.

To Denver Coaching Staff. Want to win Sunday against Steelers. Quits this pathetic approach to offense. Let Tebow loose. Utilize Fell!!! He (Fell) is a secret weapon that could and would open up the running and passing game. Why do you ignore such a valuable asset who clearly has excellent hands and can make the grade. Use Fell, and get back to Royal on deep passes. Don;t try once and say, Oh Well. Keep at it early, and all through the game. This is the winning formula.. Use it and win. Do not use it and go home. Use Fell, or fall.

For those who watched the game I am curious about Elway’s demeanor/expression at the conclusion of the game.  Anyone happen to see the inevitable shot of Elway?  Was it anger? Disgust?  Stoic?

It was bad, but I would think that KC’s D deserved some of the credit too. They played very hard and really well. Remember, this was the same defense that totally shutdown GB when they were undefeated just 2 weeks ago.

Of course we deserve it, or we wouldn’t be there. Did you forget about all those heart stopping victories?

  • Anonymous

Exactly! Who in here (Bronco fans only) wouldn’t have been thrilled to see into the future after losing the chargers in week 5 and see that we ended up as division champs? Regardless of how it happened!

  • areferee

Yes.  My eyesight, character and intelligence has always been in question.

  • Johnnyskydive

Hire Matt Flynn and trade Tebow Mr. Elway! Or come out of retirement and play # 7………

LOL… I know what you mean. My mechanics were always bad and I wasn’t ever in the right position to make a call.

Kinda the same coaching… One week I was destined to coach in a super bowl one day and the greatest guy that ever lived. The next week I was a dumb bastard that couldn’t coach my way out of a paper bag. And this of course was from the same parents…lol

Actually he was pretty much expressionless… Just sat there with his head/chin resting on his had. So of the choices you gave I’d say Stoic more than the others.

Not like he was ever in a position where he needed to win one of three at the end and couldnt do it… Riiight! lol

I gotta give you some props from that perspective Gary. Same scenario pointed out then I’d said hell ya I’ll take (being honest). BUUUT with it happening this way it just doesn’t feel as good, least not to me. Doesn’t suck either…lol!

Do you mean Fells? As in Daniel Fells?

  • Anonymous

You do know that you can’t simply “hire” any player that you want, right?

  • King

    lol !

  • King

Come on doom.  We won more divisional games than the Raiders did.  That makes us the division champs.  It makes no difference that we lost the last 3.  We won 6 in a row.  Remember?  lmao.

Cheer up and be a Broncos fan why don’t ya !

  • King

You’re posts always make me think that you’re dead and someone walks all over your grave.  Daily.

  • King

You obviously never watched him coach in Carolina.

  • King

Even Tebow hater Rodney Harrison mentioned our receivers basically suck on SNF.

  • King

NO!  The Tebow haters must have their bloodthirst satisfied !

They have instant gratification down pat.

  • King

Um, you would’ve seen more strip attempts if Von were healthy.  Poor guy is playing hard though.

  • Johnnyskydive

lol…. really? He is going to be a free agent very soon and I think the broncos organization can afford him. Flynn would be a good fit to the roster next year.
