Is this what I come to BroncoTalk for? A glorified football message board post? Why don’t you give us some facts and let us make up our minds for ourselves?

Here is a post I put on another board. I wasn’t going to paste it here, but then I read your post.

I just got through watching the game again. Orton played a better game than I thought. In fact, other than the two mistakes (INT and dropped ball), he played a fine game, IMO. And even the blame for the INT was shared by the receiver. The Broncos played 11 offensive series. Series #4 lasted one play: Moreno fumbled the ball.Six passes were DROPPED. The Broncos were called for HOLDING five times. Five incompletions were throwaways. Two were because Orton was hit as he threw.Orton was sacked five times. NOT ONCE did he “shuffle into” or “run into” a sack. Two were coverage sacks, and two were inside three seconds, meaning the QB had no time to react.Besides the dropped ball and INT, Orton threw into coverage three times. He missed high once and threw behind the receiver twice.Out of 46 attempts, that was pretty good, IMO, considering the heavy pressure Orton was under most of the game and that the running game was nil (39 yards, 13 which were Orton’s).In addition, the final TD drive was a truly gutty performance. During that drive, six passes were completed, and five were incompletions. Of the incompletions, one was broken up by the defender, one was too far in front of the defender, one was dropped, and one was a throwaway. (I don’t remember what happened on the fifth – didn’t write it down.) It was a beautiful drive. As a side note, it is interesting that the Broncos outscored the Raiders in the second half, 20-7.I came away encouraged in two respects: (1) As I mentioned, Orton played better than I thought, and (2) the team played better than I thought.I’m not sure this is such a bad team, after all . . .
