Last night second year cornerback Syd’Quan Thompson tore his Achilles tendon, ending his season. Thomspon played in 13 games last season and notched a key interception in the Houston game, sealing Tim Tebow‘s first career win as a starter.

It’s devastating to see a young guy who has worked so hard and has had a great camp go down in the final game of the preseason.

That one breaks my heart, I love that kid.  Get well soon buddy.

  • dbroncs24/7

That sucks I liked him, but we needed to add cbs anyway they got torched last night (especially cox)

I love the Syd'Quan, this sucks.

seems like we got hurt a lot last night.  unfortunately our corners aren't looking great right now- didnt need to loose him.

  • Filco

F-N-A. Can we catch a F'N break? GOD!

  • td30ismvp

Apparently we are gonna catch a lot of tears…

  • jdkchem

He was one of the few bright spots last night along with Carter.

Now if Goody or champ go down (they are older and they will), what are we going to do? This is a big problem…More risk for us at CB than DT.

  • Rcsodak

    wow.  Asleep at the wheel?

Names of cut players have been out for a while now and NOTHING here?

    BTW, good-bye, raper Cox.

Sucks losing Riley and McCarthy hopefully they clear waivers and we keep them on the practice squad.

  • LevonZevon

Brandon Meriweather is available and we need Safety help too (if not starters in 2011).  But Rahim the rangy center-fielder and Meriweather the Pro-Bowl Safety and big-hitter?  Sounds like one less position to draft for after Dawkins presumably hangs 'em up after this season.

Meriweather whiffs on coverages every now and then, but you don't make the Pro-Bowl the last two seasons if there is no talent there (unlike Jarvis Green, Ty Warren, Lonnie Paxton, Lawrence “toker” Maroney, Jabar Gaffney, Ross Hochstein and LeKevin Smith).

This is a no-brainer unless Bowlen is too cheap.  And unliek Tommie Harris. Meriweather is in his prime.

they got the cap-space to make the deal.

will he want to sign with us despite dawkins being here or becouse dawkins being here? or not at all?
