Some quick updates on the status of some banged up Broncos…
Defensive tackle Marcus Thomas:
Thomas suffered a strained pectoral muscle in training camp and may miss the season opener. Best-case-scenario: Ready for week one. Worst-case-scenario: Ready by week three.
Linebacker D.J. Williams:
Williams dislocated his right elbow in the preseason against the Seahawks and is expected to be out three to four weeks. Best-case-scenario: Ready for week three match against Titans. Worst-case-scenario: Misses four or more games.
Defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley:
Bunkley suffered a sprained knee in the preseason against Seattle and is on a week-to-week status. Best-case-scenario: Ready for week one or by week two against Cincinnati. Worst-case-scenario: Out for two games or more.
Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas:
Thomas is recovering from a torn Achilles’ tendon and was originally expected to be back by Thanksgiving. Best-case-scenario: Ready within a month from today. Thomas has been recovering well and may be back sooner than the team had anticipated. Worst-case-scenario: Out through mid-season and possibly placed on the injured reserve list.
Defensive lineman Ty Warren:
Warren had triceps surgery last week and is out indefinitely. Best-case-scenario: Retained by the team and ready to go by the final third of the season. Worst-case-scenario: Done for the year.
We’ll keep you updated on these and any future injuries.
