Every year we see players released due to performance not equaling pay grade. It’s time to take a look at those players with these susceptible salaries.

1. Renaldo Hill

Hill is due $2.4 million in 2011 and $2.65 million in 2012. Denver has David Bruton, Darcel McBath, Quinton Carter, and Rahim Moore all at the safety position. There is no way Hill makes this Denver team.

2. Andre Goodman

Goodman is coming off a mediocre year plagued with injuries. Denver is young at corner with Sydquan Thompson, Cassius Vaughn, and Perrish Cox (also in question). At the age of 33, the Broncos could be saying goodbye to Goodman to save themselves $3 million.

3. Perrish Cox

Cox’s contract isn’t too cumbersome, he won’t make more than $600,000 in any of the next three seasons (2011 – $405,000, 2012 – $490,000, 2013 – $575,000). However, after his serious legal troubles he may get cut regardless of any cap situation.

4. Nate Jones

Nate Jones consistently got burned last year. If there is one thing Jones has taught me is that he can tackle a receiver after he catches for the first down. Jones is slated to make $800,000 in 2011, which isn’t a huge amount, but he isn’t really effective.

5. Brian Dawkins

Brian Dawkins may be open to renegotiating his contract, but when that jar of crazy opens you never know how it’s going to end. There is one thing known for sure though, the Broncos will not keep Dawkins at his currently salary.

  • Mike Birtwistle

Nate Jones hasn't been cut already?  He's gone then.

  • Josh Temple

I would rather pay Dawkins millions to sit on the bench than have Renaldo Hill as a starter at that salary.  Let the rooks and the vet battle it out for those two spots.

  • Arthurcmunoz

The image of Renaldo Hill grabbing Holmes face mask to cause us to lose the game is still to fresh in my memory. Cut Him!

  • td30ismpv

I don't see Goodman going anywhere

  • Nisse

but u cant say he was out of position.

  • steeplebomb

Perrish Cox is such a knucklehead (alledgedly I guess).  That kid had potential.   Its quickly becoming one of those things where even if he does get out of it, do you really want someone like that on the team?  I hate having to choose character v. talent.

  • steeplebomb

When I saw that picture it just brought it all back.  Ugh.

  • Jack

I've heard they wanna keep Goodman

  • Josh Temple

If Cox wasn't halfway in the slammer I would say we could cut cap room with that move, but things have changed.  We may have to depend on Goodman to start and Syd'Quan to be our nickel.

  • Jack

    he got cut yep

  • Joel

Goodman is going nowhere, with Nate Jones probably cut and Perrish cox an idiot.   They can't cut him, and when healthy (big when) He's a strong corner.

  • Joel

they haven't cut jones yet…i expect it late in camp if Vaughn and the undrafted kids show any heart but he's not been cut as of now.

  • MrEast

I wouldn't say strong. He gets hurt a lot and is hot and cold all season. He's capable if anything.

  • MrEast

They may want to, but I still wouldn't be shocked if he gets cut. The man is 33 making $3 million this year.

  • MrEast

He's still on the team roster.

  • Josh Temple

He's damn quick for an old guy.

  • stav

Live in NJ, you have no idea how many Jets fans continuously bring that game up to me. He looked utterly clueless on that play.

  • stav

Hlil, Cox, Jones, give em the axe, Dawkins, restructure. I'm sure he'll agree to that.

  • herc_rock

They have to keep Goodman.  Cox is going to miss some games…

  • robtink242

Nate Jones and Hill <— gone!! restructure Goodman and Dawkins.. and if P. Cox is innocent he can resume #2 CB.. Cox is a certify ass but, if he's innocent i'd still keep him seeing that big Ben raping ass can roam freely.

  • MrEast

    I'll give him that… but 33 and $3 million…

  • WhidbeyBronco

Yeah i can see why we didn't draft Peterson…

  • Snowbum007

Like what 6 to 15 years worth of games? By the time he gets out of jail he'll be Goodmans age and we will have to cut him
