After all the waiting, Denver has finally found their new man to help resurrect the defense. According to the Denver Post, former Saints’ secondary coach Dennis Allen will be the new defensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos.
Those who know John Fox best in the NFL believed the new Broncos head coach might choose an up-and-coming assistant coach as his defensive coordinator. Fox did just that Monday, selecting New Orleans Saints secondary coach Dennis Allen as the Broncos’ sixth defensive coordinator in six years.
Dennis Allen comes from a blitz heavy, hit you in the mouth, and put you out of the game kind of defense that Gregg Williams ran down in New Orleans. The secondary in New Orleans played at the most clutch level possible last season taking down three probable hall of fame quarterbacks in three consecutive playoff games. Allen has the resume, let’s just hope we can see the results on the field.
Sixth defensive coordinator in six years, what a frightening fact. It’s hard just thinking about all the previous ones., Quirell, Lockhart, Lupin, Moody, Umbridge, and Snape… oh wait wrong blog.
