For a former head coach who lasted less than two seasons while quickly and efficiently wrecking a perennial NFL contender, Josh McDaniels sure is a hot commodity.

After days of contract talks to take over as offensive coordinator for the St. Louis Rams, McDaniels is now reportedly negotiating for the same role with the Seattle Seahawks. Ironically, the Seahawks fired another former in-demand Denver Broncos coach, offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates, giving McDaniels the opportunity to interview.

By our count, that puts the reported teams who had interest in McDaniels at some point this offseason to four: Kansas City, Minnesota, St. Louis, and Seattle.

So despite his foul-ups in the personnel department, video department, and even on the field near the end, clearly McDaniels is still thought of very highly in NFL circles as a premiere offensive gameplanner and strategist. It makes sense; his record-breaking years as offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots are impossible to ignore.

Where do you think he will land Broncos Country, and how long will it be until he’s given another chance to lead an NFL team as head coach?

Time to bring Jeremy back home for our quarterbacks coach!

  • smallchange

Wherever he ends up they will win and win big, often!! He will have @least one fan following and cheering him on all the way!! I just hope he doesn't end up in the AFC West; this would be one time I would rather not say, “I told ya so”. I would bet that within two years he has another head coaching gig!! Trudat!!

  • themastermind

Who cares. No, we haven't seen the last of Hoodie McJunior, but for us, Good riddance. Good bye.

  • Mergrath

Hopefully on his head for all I care! Let someone else employ the ego cancer…

I didn't think of this possibility, I would imagine he's going to be a hot commodity for OC right now. If can't land that job, oh hell yes I would take him back in a heart beat.

  • Audo

You should really drink less in the middle of the day. It is not healthy.

  • Fan From Spain

as long as he doesn't end up in the AFC West I really don't give a rat's ass.

how long till Maroney gets cut or traded?

  • TheTroglodyte

We should hire him as OC and then trade him to the Raiders for a 4th round pick. You know, to recoup the Maroney damages!

  • Ausbrunk

Hell we should have just demoted him from head coach to OC here…why is that never done? I have seen many times other coaches move in the coaching tree? I think he will do well as a OC again…

  • Jj

AAdamSchefter to ESPN: McDaniels to Rams as offensive coordinator is now a done deal.

  • herc_rock

    this guy still has supporters?

The Ram's mothership has called back one of it's own. My condolences to all the Rams fans…

So much for the idea that Kyle Orton will follow McDink to his new post. He has Bradford now. We don't play the Rams in the 2011-2012 season. (Unless it's in the Super Bowl… :-))

  • VG

How long will it take him to run the quarterback out of town? We should start Sam Bradford for Matt Cassel trade rumors!!

  • areferee

    I'll smoke to that!

Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley raised some eyebrows when he said he didn’t want to play in a cold-weather city.

  • crazykid

I would be thrilled w/ McD as my OC. I would be pissed if he was our head coach though…

  • crazykid

pardon my French, but what a pussy…
I would play anywhere for $40 million guaranteed. But then my IQ is higher than 70, so i guess i cant compare with him…

    I'm still slightly favoring Peterson.

  • areferee

    Only athletic supporters…

  • kerry

why wouldnt he? McD loves trading top flite QB's. we have Orton so maybe McD can convince Spags to trade us Bradford for Orton.

  • kerry

who gives a flying fuck where McD lands. hopefully at the bottom of a cliff. a very rocky bottom.

It's funny how when a coach comes in and destroys a team, that teams fans support their team so much that their actuall knowledge of football seems to decline when discussing that coach, and is replaced by spite and vengfullness. No matter how well McDaniels has done in the past or how well he does in the future, Denver fans will always believe he's a joke. Josh McDaniels was mentored by the best coach in the NFL. He coordinated one of the best offences in NFL history. He coached one of the best QB's in history in Tom Brady ,who will eventually be a first ballet Hall of Famer, and then when Brady was put on IR after the first game of the seasonm, McDaniels coached a nobody into being a top flight QB in the NFL. Josh McDaniels football knowledge is EXTREMELY vast, and if he doesn't become a great head coach one day, he will at least remain to be one of the best offensive coordinators/geniuses in NFL history. While in Denver, he was given way to much control over player personnel and trades and that can't be blamed on McDaniels. you would have to blame Pat Bowlen, Joe Ellis, and Brian Xanders for that mistake. Maybe if McDaniels had less of a say over big decisions and was just allowed to coach the team he had, then maybe things would have turned out differently. But to say that he doesn't have a clue in the world how to run any part of a football team is just denver fans being bitter, and really, it makes them look hurt like their girlfriend just dumped them, and it also make denver fans look like they don't know shit from fuck about football. at the bottom of a cliff huh? WELL WHY DONT YOU CRY ABOUT IT! weeny! Honestly, Denver has more immediate concerns then where McDaniels ends up.
