John Elway has just announced via his Twitter account that John Fox has been named the newest head coach of the Denver Broncos.

In a string of Tweets Elway stated,

“[Fox] is a dynamic and proven leader who will energize our entire organization. John has coached great defenses, turned teams around and been to Super Bowls. We couldn’t be more excited to have him lead the Denver Broncos.”

Fox is 73-71 (.503%) all time with a 5-3 (.625%) record in the post-season, he has been a head coach exclusively with the Carolina Panthers.

Coach Fox is a member of the Chuck Noll coaching tree; Fox has served under Noll, Bobby Ross, Art Shell, Mike White, Rich Brooks and Jim Fassel. Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio served as a coordinator for Fox in Carolina.

In 2003; one season after taking over in Carolina, Fox led the Panthers to the Super Bowl and lost by a last second field goal by the New England PatriotsAdam Vinatieri.

Fox is a good hire there are better coaches out there i agree but denver didnt want to pay the money to get them to denver and from all the people the were interviewing this was the best way to go..not to metion he is a defence of minded coach witch is what denver needs..hopefuly he draft Auburn's Nick Fairley or Da'Quan Bowers maybe if were ucky we can get a real QB back in late rounds like Kallen Moore from Boise St…witch i think is going to be the steal of the draft this year..to me he was the most NFL ready besides Andrew Luck witch a got to see live her in Palo Alto at stanford

Well Kerry, if you're happy then I'm happier.

Spoken like a true arm chair QB….

He would have 80% of his cap locked up in corners.

    and another 80% in Haynesworth

I really see the dragging of the feet on Champ as just a CBA reaction. I know that we signed Orton and Dumervil despite this, but there's got to be a demand on someone's part that we're not being made aware of. There is no reason a team wouldn't want Bailey for $10M a year.

Early numbers on Fox's contract look like $3-$3.5M per year. I'll update when I have something official (even though the Broncos don't officially release details.

When this search started and his name starting poping up I have to admit I was not at all excited about it. Now that it is done and I have read a lot more about the guy I would have to say this is a very good choice. You pretty much can scrap what happened this year based on all the front office, loss of players and injuries they had. Scratch that off his overall record and it's decent.

I do hope he picks an OC that will be more agressive than what he has shown. If he can build a good defense, which I think he will undoubtably do, and couple that with an aggressive offense suited to Tebow, then the future is very bright.

It's already starting to feel better and now that we have a proven entity as a HC and new fornt office structure, I say KUDOS to Bowlen and Eliis for acting quickly and decisively the fix a disaster. I have been very critical of both of them, but I give them credit for trying to turn this thing around.

Let go get Fairly, resign Champ, get Doom healthy, get Asomuah (sp) and start working immediately with Tebow. THEN GO TAKE WEST BACK WHERE IT BELONGS… TO THE BRONCOS

Either way. I'm still praying for a lockout. That way we'll have two years to figure this mess out.

I highly doubt that asomugha will go to denver

and how could you wish theres a lockout?!?
are you a Communist or what??

if we were to land asomugha then we would have the best corner tandem in the leagueassuming we resign champ. but i agree. that'll be almost impossible. but we did take jamal lewis from the chargers so maybe its not that far fetched.
