This wasn’t the type of statement an interim head coach would like to make in his debut.

In response, thousands of Broncos fans in Arizona’s desert stadium vocalized one of their own.

Amid deafening chants of “Tim Tebow!”, Broncos interim coach Eric Studesville‘s Kyle Orton-led Broncos blundered their way to a fourth straight loss Sunday, a 43-13 embarrassment against the Arizona Cardinals (4-9) that dropped the Broncos to an unfathomable 3-10 record. Six offensive turnovers (the most the Broncos have surrendered since 1999) and a collapsing fourth quarter defense led to a Cardinals rout led by kicker Jay Feely and rookie third-string quarterback John Skelton.

The Cardinals’ Skelton, who reportedly only had Friday to prepare for the game as the team’s primary signal caller, outthrew the Broncos’ Orton, who was dreadful despite over a year as “the guy.” Orton completed less than 50% of his passes and threw three interceptions (no touchdowns). Skelton’s numbers were very pedestrian in his rookie debut, but he didn’t surrender a turnover.

Kyle Orton was once Pro Bowl-bound. Kyle Orton was once on an NFL record pace. Kyle Orton was once worthy of a multi-million dollar contract extension, again.

After Sunday’s thumping, Orton can’t argue his worth is greater than an NFL never-was.

The Broncos changed to a rookie coach; it’s time to change to a rookie quarterback. It’s time to see what Tim Tebow can do.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL Really? REALLY? Thanks to Denver I cannot wear any of my broncos apparel in Dallas because of the Joke you have become.

So the coaches felt that playing Orton gave us a better shot at winning? Who cares about winning when your 3-9, and now 3-10. You can't tell me that starting Tebow would have given the team a worse result. To me over the last couple games it shows that the coaches don't know there head from your A$$. Orton is not the Future, yes he has played well but with him playing well we are still 3-10. OMG that does not cut it. Orton is a 28 year old Justin Bieber. We lost to the Cardinals by 30 points. The 4-9 Cardinals with a Rookie QB. REALLY? Come on man.. Don't draft a rookie QB in the first round and not give him a change to play with your 3-10. You look like fools.

  • Kellyleephipps

This is just stupid at this point. Put the rookies in and lets prepare for a defensive draft already. Tebow is champing at the bit to get in and add his unique spark. Orton looks like the worst QB ever. Kansas City is over there being blown out and they are giving their third string QB a chance after Croyle folded. Let's see what Tebow and Quinn can do already. This is so frustrating as a life long Bronco fan. The Owner needs to step in and say to the coach, Play Tim Tebow, let's see what he's got. I left the game in the 3rd quarter it was so embarrassing to see them flash the score as Denver 3, Jay Feely 22…we got are arse kicked by a little kicker…I don't think it gets any worse than this as a bronco fan…

  • Adrenaline27

Denver 3, Jay Feely 22 LMAO Priceless

  • http://twitter.com/dxmanning Joshua Manning

Hey Bronco fans, you can't blame Josh McDaniels NOW for this loss!!!!

  • Adrenaline27

Yeah, we can. This is still very much his players and his plays. Just someone else calling them.

  • Mcddummy

Are you serious you f…… troll……, McIdiot built this POS and you defend him? Get off this site McDaniels!!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_O3MYWZGDBQKL33RKV6X3ZEDVGI John

Mos def. They got rid of him, now what? This is what we get for a knee jerk firing.

  • Vince_marine

I with you Josh….Lack of leadership is the problem with this team. The players aren't holding themselves accountable. Sad!

  • ORBroncoFan

McDaniels is gone, but his legacy remains – And worthy of the disgusting performance to which we've become all too accustomed. For crying out loud (my voice gave out weeks ago), PUT TEBOW IN! If nothing else, let the guy SCRAMBLE! It migh not add up to wins, but I'd be happy with a few more 1st downs and red zone scores!!!

  • TheTroglodyte

I have been saying all year long Orton's numbers were a mirage. Stop looking at the stat sheet and actually watch him play I said. While I normally would rather be wrong about the Broncos than toot my own horn about being right about our crappy QB… It's all I have left to hold on to this year haha

  • kerry

dude you have beat the leadership horse into the fucking ground already. this team just isnt good. period. it has NOTHING to do with leadership or lackthereof. it has to do with being devoid of talent thanks to the Jagoff McDaniels. you can have 50 Ray Lewis's on that field and it wouldnt have changed the outcome one single bit.

  • robtink242

This signals the end of the Kyle Orton era…

  • nosky

    I really hope so.

  • denverfanindallas

so, you have closets full of Broncos stuff, not wearing it cause you are afraid of running into Jerry Jones, and you say “the joke YOU have become”

do me a favor, name a price. I'll be there are hundreds of readers on this blog that would pay the shipping to receive your “broncos apparel”. Go to the mall, buy you a Dez Bryant jersey, blend in with the crowd…

i'm sure bandwagon tix are on sale here now anyway.. or do they call that the party pass?

  • denverfanindallas

funny thing is that Feely ran Tebow's #1 play to score on us.. :)

  • denverfanindallas

Can we get some “create a caption” shots to liven up the chat around here? hahah

btw, does anyone else thing that Studsville looks like a darker version of MCD? They have the same chin!

  • Adrenaline27

No way I am giving up my broncos stuff. Just wont wear it out much because I am already tired of being asked, did you wear that on purpose crap. Then you have to set and talk about it. I don't have that much time. I really don't have a closet full. More hats and office memorabila then anything. Its one thing to lose games, but with all the crap thats gone on, it just gives more people ammo to fire back.

Trust me, I am in no way a bandwagon fan.

  • Adrenaline27

I would rather lose the next three games and see Tebow play. We have nothing to loose. Beside we are going to lose them anyways the way Orton has been playing.

  • MrPete

I couldn't agree more. Orton was out played by a rookie that practiced one day with the team. For all of those Orton lovers out there. Are you starting to see the light.

  • denverfanindallas

    kneejerked a bit.

glad to hear your not a jumper. wear you stuff with pride. when they say stuff, just remind them of DeSean Jackson's 91 yard romp on them a few mins ago :) best End-Zone Celebration ever..

apologies for getting angry… glad to know someone elses' offices is covered in Blue and Orange.. #GoBroncos #Cowgirlssuck

  • M.R.walsh

If the broncos don't play Tebow the next game….For the 2 remaining Denver games ….the place at best will only be 40% full. With this stupidity there won't be a waiting list for season tickets. Those of us that have then can't give them away.

  • Adrenaline27

I will be a Broncos fan till the day I die win or lose. When I lived in Colorado we used to have season tickets. Got to watch Elway on several of his come back wins. I miss not being able to attend some games, However my cousin Josh from broncotalk here still has season tickets and takes me to some when I am able to make it back. Got to meet Ian and Kyle last year at the Thanksgiving game.

Small world too, the lady that lives across the street from her, one of her best friends was a broncos cheer leader.

  • guest

On the sideline every time the camera showed Orton he had is head down. He just looked like a beaten man.
How bad are Brady Quinn and Tim Tebow that they on't give anyone else a shot.

  • JJ

Is it just me or Orton lost the game on purpose to prove a point? Like..it wasnt mcds fault? He looked like the only player which head wasnt in the game

  • Adrenaline27

I am afraid its everyman for himself because the coaches know they probably will not be back. So they are going to do what ever it takes to win so they have future jobs somewhere. Mr. Bowlen I think needs to force his hand and tell them to start Tebow. They need to know what they have going into next years draft. So much they could do that would help answer some questions, and them picking so high they can make deals to recoup more players.

  • Adrenaline27

Noticed anyone when you go onto the Broncos website and watch videos, all the gear as Tebows number and name on it along with other players, but you don't see Orton anywhere. You know that has to bother him. I think he likes it when he should be pulled and yet the fans see him trotting out to the field again.

  • MrPete

Well said, this is where Bowlen needs to step and make an executive decision. He cannot afford for this to happen. Play the kid and get those butts in the seats.

  • denverfanindallas

what area of DFW you in? got any places you watch the games? Can't seem to find Bronco friendly places :)

  • denverfanindallas

not all about the conspiracy (orton knows he's playing to stay around next year) but he did play with ZERO heart, no passion, shrugged shoulders.. reminded me of Tony Romo, except older and slower

  • Adrenaline27

I am just south of Denton. I have Directv NFL ticket, so I watch them all at my place.

  • Audi

There is a reason Tebow is not in. He sucks! And if he goes in and sucks on TV his trade value is zero. If we keep him a mystery and sell it in trade talk the the new regime just wants “their guy”, we might get a 3rd rounder out of him. No one saw him as a first rounder but us. We need to keep selling Tebow jerseys and trade him in the offseason to a desperate team and move on.

  • Laramiefan

So that is the key to everything ? Play Tebow . Something is really weird with Orton totally caving in . I don't think it is his MOJO not showing up . In my experience the Broncos just came out all up tight and uninspired . I personally thought that losing this game helped us get closer to that #l pick which hopefully is the right one . Again I think something is off to totally not show up and be uninspired . The rest of our games should be used as a pre-season type of game to test our middle of the road guys and play more rookies . Let's just have some fun .

  • Broncosfanman69

Quit messing around and put Tebow in already. Tired of watchin the SOS!!!

  • Osagerafe

I will not stop wearing my gear, but am ready to hear it from Cowboy and Chief fans who live in the area. So, this is what the bottom looks like, don't like it much.

  • Richbornhoft

Orton never gets the lead and can't come from behind, and the defense is on the field way too long. Oh yeah the special teams stink and we can't run the ball. I have never been so frustrated as a Bronco fan.

Would Kyle Orton be the starting QB today if it wasn't for McDaniels?

  • Vince_marine

DUDE!!!! LOL!!! I will keep beating it until the day I die. You obvisously have never played football much less a team sport because you don't realize what a leader does/means to a team. When you face adversity leaders step up and defeat it. They are supposed to adapt and you overcome! There is plenty of talent on this team just no one to lead.

  • Vonhersch

This is beyond comprehension. If ever there was a perfect time to insert a backup quarterback into a game this was it! Any backup would do. If neither Tebow nor Quinn is competent enough to play professional football then Ben McDaniels should be sent packing along with his brother. What other reason could there possibly be for this stubbornness to pull Orton out of a game. It’s not gonna ruin his confidence, he was benched in Chicago after taking the team to the playoffs and he survived. I’m sure he could survive being pulled from a game where we’re getting blown out by a 3 and 9 team. If he couldn’t then he‘s a bigger whiner than the guy we got rid of. So much for your audition Stubs. What’s worse is the new coach will probably bend with the wind and throw Tebow to the wolves in Oakland.
I don’t care what title John Elway gets. He doesn’t have to be general manager or a coach to help this team. All he’d have to do is come in for about an hour every morning and look at a list of the day’s activities and cross out the ones that are stupid. He could then go play golf and the Bronco’s would be a better team.

ive played football for many a year. Lacrosse too. and yes a leader is quite a vital piece of a team. but when you have a bunch of talentless bums and a jagoff coach, your whole leadership cast doesnt mean shit. hate to break this to you but a man can be a leader all he wants but leading talentless hacks doesnt mean the team is any better. and all this talent you speak of just got ass raped by another bottom-feeder. all this leadership you speak of wouldnt have stopped ORton from throwing 511 picks 6's or allowing a rookie QB to beat us. believe me i know what a leader does. but a leader yelling and trying to rally his troops doesnt mean the troops all of a sudden turn into good players.

    Mysteries of foot ball.

Mercifully, the Broncos game ended 5 minutes before 60 minutes giving us relief from pain.

    What remains are two mysteries.
First, football needs to take page from baseball. When the pitcher is obviously off his game, he is benched and a sub run in to try and salvage a win. They don’t wait till he’s injured.

Secondly, months ago, all we heard was Teebo, Teebo Teebo the best thing since sliced bread. So why is Mr. Teebo sitting in the cool grass collecting millions all dressed up like a player?

  • areferee

The Broncos organization, inadvertently by omission and intentionally through horrible decisions, have tarnished everything they once represented in the NFL. Pride, integrity, honor, desire, competitiveness and excellence.

In addition, one of their greatest potential assets has been tarnished merely by sitting on the bench, totally ignored by a staff that is so confused by its own ineptitude, they no longer know what to do about anything.

The simplest of decisions are escaping them. The arrogance of the previous administration has been replaced by some kind of misplaced pride that refuses to listen to the most elemental voice being shouted at them from the stands and the media.

The most embarrassing results seem of no help in allowing them to make the proper course-correction. The youngest and most inexperienced fan understands it clearly. Why not play your first round draft choice? Quote the Broncos: “Because we didn't think it was time for that”.

Is there no one left within the organization that is capable of rational thought?

Without intending it, I'm sure, they have diminished the reputation and value of a man that represents their only remaining hope of salvaging any faith, spirit and support that remains within the hearts of their faithful for this season.

The only thing they have left to lose is their fans.

    Play Tebow.

  • skipali

Maybe the problem is the possibly senile owner. This franchise didn't just START to suck–take a long look at the last several seasons–crappy draft choices, bad trades, lack of pride. I've been a fan for decades and remember all too well losing to the Cowboys, Giants, Redskins and 49er's (that one really hurt), but the Orange Crush and Elway eras never saw such lethargy on and off the field. If you don't think leadership matters, you don't know anything about sports. There's alot of parity in the NFL–not just a handful of outstanding talent that create winning teams; strategy, knowledge and leadership create the team, not superstar talent. This team's not lacking talent, it's lacking heart.

    1ST ROUND PICK NEXT YEAR:

Not that I want the team to lose the rest of their games, but I don’t see us winning any of them so since that is the case might as well hope for a good pick. My ideal situation would be to have Tebow come in and at least get a look at what he can do and win a few games. Not sure he can really make a difference, because this team has issues all over. Not to mention poor coaching to add. As it stands right now, it looks like we are scheduled to the get the 5th pick overall (if the season ended today). I am not exactly sure how they work it out if teams have the same record (so this may look different if each team continues to lose out). Do they go to the division or conference wins? Or do they just flip a coin like they did last year between Jacksonville and Denver? Right now the order is:

5th pick – Denver Broncos (3-10) – Games Left: @ Oakland, Houston and San Diego

I do not see Denver winning any of these games. Although who knows with division games.

4th Pick – Detroit Lions (3-10) – Games Left: @ Tampa Bay, @ Miami and Minnesota

I don’t see Detroit beating Tampa Bay, but could see them pulling off a victory against Miami or Minnesota. Maybe not, but if there was a chance, I would say either one of those teams could be beaten

3rd Pick – Buffalo Bills (3-10) – Games Left: @ Miami, New England, @ New York Jets

I am unsure. All three are division games. NYJ is slumping and Miami has been inconsistent. Both MIA and NYJ offense has been horrible lately. Maybe a win from one of those two.

2nd Pick – Cincinnati Bengals (2-11) – Games Left: Cleveland, San Diego and Baltimore

I would say that Cleveland gives the Bengals the greatest chance of a 3rd victory, which would leave them tied with Denver at 3-13 assuming that Denver loses out.

1st Pick – Carolina Panthers (1-12) – Games Left: Arizona, @ Pittsburgh, and @ Atlanta

I don’t see Carolina winning any of these games. It looks like the may get the #1 overall pick in the draft.

Having said all that, I see possibly getting the 3rd pick overall and maybe the 2nd if we win a tiebreaker over Cincy. What do you guys think would be the best player at the 2nd or 3rd position? QB or DL? I personally think we should go with defense. Not that we are great at the QB position, but thinking that Orton or possibly Tebow could tie us over till we can pick up another QB. Maybe Tebow will end up being the answer. I hoping he is since we had to spend so much to get him. Some people think we should pick up a CB with our first round pick, but I am thinking again that our secondary can tie us over (assuming that we re-sign Bailey) or maybe pick up a CB in the 2nd round. I just think the most important position right now is DL. Any opinions?

  • jimery

Actually we can, It's his personal and his playbook. You think the interim coach came up with that scheme in 4 days? Get a life troll.

  • herc_rock

“Leadership” is wildly overrated at the professional level.

  • herc_rock

Orton was terrible again. The season is over. At this point, you start Tebow the rest of the way in order to get some sense of whether or not he's a letigimate NFL QB.

Unlikely, but who gives a shit at this point? Lets see what he can do.

  • ogjohn

Unlike the cowboys and vikings that have a ton of talent the Broncos traded most of theirs away thanks to McIdiot

  • ogjohn

I completely agree at this point what is at stake. except the interim coach trying to win a job
