Sobering truth from ESPN and longtime-Denver Broncos insider Adam Schefter: Josh McDaniels isn’t going anywhere.

According to Schefter, the Broncos will stick with (be stuck with?) their head coach through 2011:

Broncos scheduled to pay Josh McDaniels through 2012, Mike Shanahan through 2011. No way Pat Bowlen pays three HCs in 2011. McDaniels safe.

The reasoning is sound, but I actually disagree with Schefter on this one. If Bowlen feels the Broncos don’t have a chance in 2011 with McDaniels, is it worth $3 million more to him (loosely, the cost of hiring another coach) to make the Broncos a winner? I’d guess yes.

The question is whether Bowlen will have reached the point where he believes the Broncos don’t have the best coach possible by season’s end.

Sorry .. he assaulted a coach … probably what McD should have done to the ST coach for having Jarvis Moss in there on the punt return.

    Totally agree.

They dont want to come here. Gruden a proven winner? His last game with the playoffs on the line he lost to the Raiders .. and was fired.

    Thank you!

…and Wade Phillips is feeling the same heat as we are giving little Big Mac.

  • areferee

    LOL

  • areferee

Bad math, but we get your point.

Bill “The Shower” Cowher is a great coach, but there is no way in hell he's going to take a job so far away from his family. He wants the Panther's job and he'll wait for it.

  • broncofan123

are you suggesting that at some point bill bilicheck checked in his ego?

  • anthony33

That is hilarious, you can throw the O-line coach just for grins!!!

  • anthony33

I would feel a whole lot better had we spent the majority of our draft picks over the past two years on the defensive front 7 and the O-line. That is where you build great teams.

  • Kdogs01

No, he's had long enough to prove the point I've been trying to make since his hire… He's going to have to tear this team apart and completely rebuild it. which would take YEARS. He should have never been hired, anyone under belichick looks good, he builds teams. McDaniels is not a head coach and never will be. He has staffed himself with yes men, because Bowlen is an idiot and gave him GM power. Fire him now and try to build on what's left. I mean really, anyone who drafts Tebow and actually thinks he'll ever be a good QB is a fool. At best he'll be a decent tight end. FIRE HIM NOW!!

  • Kdogs01

Your a fool. McDaniels is the problem, and as for the players he got rid of.. all bad moves. and he brings is Tebow? why because he wants a good tight end in 2yrs after everyone has realized that Tebow is not an NFL QB? He should have never been hired, I said it then and I've stuck to it. I hope they lose every game for the rest of the season so it becomes blindingly obvious to people like you who think McD could ever be a winning coach. Belichick made New England what they were not McD, he was just along for the ride… he's a hack!!

  • Kdogs01

    sure, as a tight end… HE'S NOT A QB!!

  • Geo111

    Please come back!

  • Jeffs929

I don't want them to can MCD, someone stated earlier that it takes more than 2 years to really instill your schemes to things and that is correct. I like what he is done and if this team was healthy, it would be a different ballgame. Also, don't knock the Tebow pick until the guy actually plays! Look what Cassel did in NE(and he never PLAYED in college)! You think that was Bellichick? No, it was MCD and also look at Brady's numbers before and after MCD. Record setting year under MCD. You really mean to tell me you would rather have Cutler instead of Orton and 2 first round picks too? The guy has made some good moves and bad ones, every coach does, don't can him! I personally stand by him for 5 years! The guy can coach and all of the players are saying it isn't him it's their play on the field! They have his back and he has theirs! Let it ride for 5 years and I think this team will be GREAT!!!

Evidently New England loosing McDaniels didn't hurt them, so lets go over his record in the past two seasons:
    1. loosing Cutler 2. picking a bumb number one like Moreno 3. trading a number one pick for a number two pick, huh 4. losing Peyton Hillus and Marshall 5. having the worst running game in the league 6. 4 and 14 the last 18 games, come on Bowlen do I have to keep going

Little big mac is being compared to wade phillips but should probably be compared to Jerry Jones. His own ego has torn apart this team and giving him one more chance isn't going to fix that. That dude needs a whole lot of humbling that he won't get as long as we let him run around playing head coach.

  • joshsucks

The team itself had a huge amount of talent before josh mcd decided his own ego was more important than the team. Hillis was a player that could of fit into this offense great. Cutler is interception happy but he has twice the talent that orton has. So what if he can pass for 500 yards a game having to pass 60 times to do that is predictable and ineffective. Get rid of him now mid season so there is more chance to build on what he has destroyed.
