The Denver Broncos‘ preseason darling will have to wait another year to make his mark in the regular season.

Wide receiver Matthew Willis suffered a foot injury during Sunday’s 20-24 loss to the New York Jets and will be placed on season-ending Injured Reserve, head coach Josh McDaniels said Monday.

The Broncos have great depth at wide receiver — in another season, Willis might have been a solid #3 for the Broncos. Now he can recuperate and fight for that chance next year.

this looks like a bit of roster slight of hand to me – bet they don't replace him with a WR. hide him on IR till next year and bolster the defense with an extra linebacker or safety

Don't know what you mean by slight of hand, he had surgery yesterday…so that is legit……and I don't think that they are required in any way to replace that spot with a receiver. Time for Decker to stand up and be counted!

didn't know about the surgery, my bad.

I thought he'd got a little knock and they put him on IR so they had a free roster spot.
