The Denver Broncos will host the Seattle Seahawks in their 2010 home opener on Sunday. Kickoff at INVESCO Field at Mile High is set for 2:05 p.m. MDT.

  • The Denver Broncos are in their sixth decade of professional football with a 411-368-10 (.527) combined record. They have the eighth-most wins among AFL/NFL franchises since 1960.
  • Denver finished with a 93-67 (.581) regular-season record during the 2000s to mark its third consecutive decade with 90 or more victories—the only team in the NFL to accomplish that feat during the last three decades.
  • The Broncos own an NFL-best 23-3 record in home openers since 1984, as the club has won its last 10 such games to tie for the third-longest home opener winning streak in league history.
  • Head Coach Josh McDaniels is in his second season leading the club after totaling the third-most wins (8) by a rookie head coach in Broncos annals.
  • McDaniels and General Manager Brian Xanders made several key acquisitions during the offseason, including the signing of three-time Pro Bowler DL Jamal Williams, hometown product DL Justin Bannan (University of Colorado) and secondary specialist CB Nate Jones.

OFFENSE:

  • QB Kyle Orton, who is third among active starting NFL quarterbacks with a .792 winning percentage (19-5) at home, led all players in Week 1 with five completions of 25 yards or more.

DEFENSE:

  • LB D.J. Williams paced the club with 11 tackles (9 solo) in its season opener at Jacksonville and has averaged the fifth-most tackles per game (8.3) in the NFL since 2007 according to press box totals.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

  • K Matt Prater, who last week at Jacksonville kicked a 54-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, owns the highest percentage of field goals made from 50+ yards in NFL history (80.0% / 8-of-10) among players who started their career after 1970 (min. 10 att.).
