Around the Web: Week 2 Power Rankings

Our weekly perusal around the Interwebz for water cooler fodder. (Number in parenthesis represents last week’s ranking).

ESPN: 25th (22)
The Tim Tebow hype wasn’t all that fell flat in Jacksonville.

CBS: 26th (24)
It’s going to be a long season for the Broncos. Where is the talent on this roster? Kyle Orton took a beating last week. Please one thing: No more Tim Tebow to ruin drives.

Sports Illustrated: 28th (23)
What I couldn’t help but think about on Sunday — when we barely noticed Tim Tebow’s impact against the Jaguars — was Michael Vick, circa 2009. After all the offseason chatter, hype and speculation, when the games actually started, Vick was at best a bit player in the Eagles season. Perhaps it’ll be the same way for Tebow in 2010, and we all will again have made much ado about very little. And no, we won’t ever learn.

FOX: 28th (23)
Don’t blame their loss to the Jaguars on QB Kyle Orton. When Marcedes Lewis and Kassim Osgood combine for three touchdowns, your defense probably isn’t playing at a high level. At least Knowshon Moreno looks to be recovered from his hamstring injury.

Yahoo!/PFW: 25th
Tebow fans in Jacksonville felt gypped by 2-2-0 rushing effort.

USA Today: 23rd (21)
If you blinked, you missed Tim Tebow’s debut in Week 1.

    Why in the HELL are the Brocnos are ranked in the bottom 25. These people are forgetting its only WEEK 1!!!!!!!! Personally, I rank the Broncos at 21th place. They did good, the O-Line and D-Line was bad but other than that the Broncos was OK.

    I'd have them ranked around 20th right now. They need to win some games – people remember them losing 8 of their last 10, making them 2-9 in their last 11.

    This is just the same old typical East Coast bias from the media and so-called football experts. It was the same during the Elway era.

    Example…The Jets aren't as good as they say, and the Broncos aren't as bad. Toss in an over-rated Cowboy's team, and there you go!

    can anyone explain how the Raiders are ranked higher than the Broncos in the si.com poll? Didn't they get blown out by the Titans?

    dude people a rookie is gonna make mistakes in his first game and not even starting…..jay cutler threw a left handed pic in his first game….john elway was under the guard and not the summer so give him a break

    The media is in a perpetual circle jerk over certain teams. Indy, NE, and the long gone mystique that was the Raiders.
