Albert Haynesworth... The role model.

Albert Haynesworth... The role model.

Throughout the history of the NFL there have been players who want to be traded so they can get a long term and lucrative contract. Josh McDaniels would know. However this is not the case with Albert Haynesworth. Apparently the $21 million he collected on April 1st is just a gift from the Redskins, because now he wants to be traded… and yes, keep the money. Did you just hear that? That’s the sound of Brandon Marshall now looking like Mother Teresa.

Could Albert Haynesworth be anymore of an ass? Kudos to Dan Synder for making the face stomper into the highest paid defensive player in the history of the NFL. Non-sarcastic kudos to Bruce Allen and Mike Shanahan who are trying to recoup the $21 million from the fat man.

“He decided to take our check and we’re very disappointed he wasn’t here today,” Shanahan said.

Who honestly signs that kind of contract and doesn’t show up to even a 15 mandatory practice? Shouldn’t your priorities change when you job is paying you $41 million in the first three years? Take a lesson from the Champ, he may only be making about $13 million this year, but even he showed up to all the voluntary practices. Hell I even think he was at a few of the janitor’s meetings.

I believe that London ‘Mr. Lunch Pail’ Fletcher said it the best.

“Obviously, he’s under contract with the Washington Redskins. From a business standpoint, I don’t see them giving him $32 million and trading him or giving him away. He has the option to give the money back if he really doesn’t want to be here. He could always give the money back. But once he decided to take money from this organization, he’s a Washington Redskin. I say, yeah, he can come back if he shows he’s willing to buy into what we’re doing, if he’s going to be on- board with what we’re trying to do. One man is not going to stop what we’re trying to accomplish this year. One man is not going to stop what we’re going to accomplish this year. We’ve got big goals set for us this year, high aspirations. Football is going to be played with him or without him. We’re going to play some good football.”

Players like Haynesworth is the reason why the owners want a bigger piece if the NFL revenue pie. If there is no football in 2011 you can sure bet good old Al didn’t help one bit. This is the same man that has “allegedly” impregnated a stripper, promised to support her, and ran out on her.

I can’t believe we live in a world where people like Albert Haynesworth are allowed to waste our oxygen. If he doesn’t want to work for his paycheck I’m sure I can find someone who does. What’s sad is that I can honestly say that BP is doing a better job.

I’m starting to realize that the island wasn’t purgatory, that job always belonged to Albert Haynesworth.

Haynesworthless is a freaking bum. well unless he is trying to get paid then he is great but once paid he is a bum. this is exactly why there needs to be a limit to what a player can sign for. like in the NBA. that would cut down on all this get paid then dont show up shit.

Remember just 3 season's ago it was Albert Haynesworth who stomped and ground his cleats into the face of a Center from another team leaving that player to miss time on the field with a face full of stitches..

This guy makes me think of the character from the movie Halloween, Michael Myers, who just mindlessly wonders through his miserable existence doing WRONG things.. Haynesworth might change his tune if he were given a WEEK to think about it down on the Kenyan Savannah where EVERY KILLER critter on the Planet who can take out man, the big 5 are there Elephants, Lions, Rhinos, Hippos, & Leopards… Haynesworth would come back a changed man I one way OR another.

The Haynesworth problem is the PERFECT TEST case for NFL owner's who have been right ALL ALONG that the proper stewardship role for the game belongs with the OWNERS, players have grown to be selfish and irresponsible toward the game AND the NFL…

Wanna know something CRAZY.. Every one of these guys would play Professional Football for $350,000 $500,000 and $750,000. The low figure, middle figure, and High figure can be determined by management, but a team can only have so many many of the top figure… WHERE THE HECK ARE THESE GUY'S GOING TO MAKE MORE MONEY THAN THAT???

Get money OUT of the game (I know that it will never happen).

And to think people wanted Haynesworth as a Bronco (and by people I mean me)

As the saying goes… sometimes the best deals are the one's you don't make.

    What a slug.

Fletcher also said, and I'm obviously paraphrasing here, that once you decide to play a team game, you have to be aware of how your actions and decisions effect every other player. If you're playing golf or tennis you can worry about yourself more, but not in a team game.

I really don't want the players to get screwed in the next CBA, but really they should all do their own jobs. Owners run the business. GMs build the team. Coaches teach and develop. Players play. This all turns into a giant mess as soon as one position tries to do another position's job. And that's not just Players, see Al Davis (GM, Coach) and Shanahan (GM 2005-08).

    Well Said!

I wouldn't blame the NFL… get at the STUPID GM that made that contract and anyone who were apart of that deal… this isn't something that happens all the time… Hayneworth is a passionless player with a worse attitude… He is by far the worst attribute to any team… T.O., BM, Ochocinco and all the other “DIVA” might be considered parasites by the media but they produce great numbers every year and play with heart… Haynesworth doesn't have that quality
