BroncoTalk staffers J. Kenneth K., Mr. East and Kyle predict each week’s winners. NOTE: We screwed up the scheduling of this post, and here it is, in the middle of Week One games. We only used this to our advantage 100% of the time.

Kansas City at Washington (-6)

The question here isn’t “who’s going to outplay who,” or even “who’s going to make more plays?” It’s “who’s going to get out of their own way?” The Chiefs have been doing some good things but haven’t been able to win, while the Redskins defense is underrated. I don’t see that Chiefs OL able to keep up, and the Skins will do just enough to win.

Pick: Washington, 10-3

Houston at Cincinnati (-4)

Who Dey think can beat dem Bengals? Not Houston. Cincy has proved they have the heart and grit to win big football games. It’s surprising, but with a 4-1 team the city of Cincinnati just can’t get excited, it took Ochocinco buying thousands of tickets to give out for free before the game Sunday to avoid the blackout. Not only a really awesome move by #85, but also very smart. The stadium full of giddy fans will factor into home field advantage. Bengals keep Andre Johnson at bay and win 28-17.

Pick: Cincinnati, 28-17

Cleveland at Pittsburgh (-14)

I see this one being a weird game. I see Cleveland making a few plays. I see Pittsburgh struggling a bit early before turning it on. And because it’s a weird game, I’ll give it a weird score.

Pick: Pittsburgh, 22-15

Baltimore at Minnesota (-3)

Points will be scored. This should be an offense-happy affair, but I see the Vikings defense making an extra play at home and barely covering.

Pick: Minnesota, 35-31

St. Louis at Jacksonville (-9.5)

Stink List worthy. This is the one game the Rams actually have a shot at winning, still don’t see it happening. Garrard has at least shown flashes with Sims-Walker. MJD should run wild after vocalizing his displeasure with the amount of touches he’s seen. The Rams stink. Jags win 20-7.

Pick: Jacksonville, 20-7

New York Giants at New Orleans(-3)

Game of the Week (other than the Broncos’, of course). Two undefeateds, and the Saints have had the bye week to prepare. Still, I see the Giants as bigger and more physical than New Orleans. It makes them more dangerous on the road… I think the Saints will fly fast to an early lead but the Giants will grind out – and squeak out – a win.

Pick: New York, 31-30

Carolina (-3) at Tampa Bay

The Panthers are going for Win #2, while the Bucs aim for Win #1. Weren’t these teams both around 4-1 this time last year?… While I think this is a good chance for Tampa to finally pull out a win, I don’t see the Bucs defense forcing Bad Jake Delhomme. I think Good Jake comes out to play, but still looks ugly, and I think the Panthers win by double-digits.

Pick: Carolina, 24-10

Detroit at Green Bay (-14)

Too bad this game isn’t being played in Detroit, the Lions may have been able to pull this one out. If the Pack’s line can keep Rodgers standing, this shouldn’t be a problem. Packers 24 Lions 13

Pick: Green Bay, 24-13

Philadelphia (-14) at Oakland

The Raiders do not stand a chance. We thought these guys were good after two weeks? They’ve already mailed it in.

Pick: Philadelphia, 41-0

Arizona at Seattle (-3)

This is quite a game no one is talking about. A win for either team would go a long way in the division chase, which just looked easier after the Niners were humbled and destroyed last week. When the Seahawks have Hasselbeck, they’ve looked dominant. Kurt Warner has also turned it on of late. I see Arizona making a few more plays against that Seattle secondary, and what the hell, I was right last week, this one’s going for OT as well.

Pick: Arizona, 34-28 (OT)

Buffalo at New York Jets (-9.5)

The Bills are awful. Dick Juaron should be fired, TO should’ve never been signed, Trent Edwards should be a back up & Roscoe Parish should be traded to us for a 5th rounder. However, I think the Jets will continue to unravel and their fans will come back down to earth and realize this will be a really good team, next year. Bills upset the Jets 14-10.

Pick: Buffalo, 14-10

Tennessee at New England (-9)

Is THIS the week Tennessee shows up? No. No, it’s not. Patriots jump to an early lead and never let off the gas.

Pick: New England, 27-7

Chicago at Atlanta (-3.5)

Jay Cutler had one of his best games against the Falcons last year when the Broncos needed it. The Bears need a win now as the Vikings continue to dominate and the Packers keep pace. This is being tabbed as a battle of Young Guns, and it should be a delight. Bears in a flip-of-the-coin game.

Pick: Chicago, 23-20

Denver at San Diego (-3.5)

We beat the Cowboys, that felt nice. We beat the Patriots, wow, that felt really good. We HAVE to be able to beat Rivers and the Chargers, HAVE to. People think the gush-fest is bad now, if McDaniels can own San Diego the love will be never ending. I know SD is coming off their BYE & no doubt prepared, but we will win this game with coaching. It will be clearly evident to the Bolts and the rest of the NFL that Pat Bowlen made the right decision in the firing/hiring. Look for Doom/Bailey & Moreno/Marshall to have big games. Broncos stay undefeated by defeating the Dolts 27-14.

Pick: Denver, 27-14
