Brandon Marshall

Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen said all the things wide receiver Brandon Marshall wanted to hear Tuesday. Per NFL.com

“Brandon understands that he’s got a year left on his present deal, but if he keeps playing the way he is, he’s going to get a very significant raise — a much better contract,” Bowlen said Tuesday at the NFL Fall League Meeting. “That’s the way it goes, and Brandon has accepted that.”

Marshall has done more than accepted it — he’s embraced it. After a sluggish start to the season, Marshall’s production has exploded, hauling in 17 catches for 222 yards and four touchdowns over the past three weeks.

With every game-winning touchdown, Marshall is daring Bowlen to literally put his money where his mouth is, and it appears a lucrative end is in sight.

Wondering when dumb ass marshal was going to understand how it works…great player that must listen to the most retarded sources on how to handle oneself. All he had to do was listen to Rod-Totally-Awesome-Smith in order to know how it works and to get paid.

    Great! =D

I must admit, I wanted him traded after the video of him in practice that got him suspended.
Now that he has his head on straight and is busting his ass, I'm very hopeful that we resign him and everyone wins!
I predicted the Broncos finishing 13-3. Everyone laughed at me… Now they are all saying that it's possible. It makes everyone feel good!

    The boss recognizes his abilities.

That's cool,BUT Bowlen never says that the Broncos will give him that raise or a new contract! This might be a pre-trade talk after all the trade dead line is comming.

  • TheTroglodyte

There isn't a chance in hell they trade Brandon right now. Without him, we don't beat the cowboys or New England. Without him Royal isn't left to one on one coverage. Without him we don't have strong blocking wr. We don't have a guy that can grab jump balls or a guy that can break tackles. Unless he f's up again within the next week, he won't be traded. Unless he seriously f's up within the next 4 months, he is going to be the highest paid player on the team come 2010.

I'd like to see this contract happen and soon, as he is playing very well this season. But considering his past behaivor, a deal weighted more on the side of performance bonuses opposed to guaranteed money might be the wiser course.
