Marshall Lloyd Dawkins
Marshall, Lloyd and Dawkins

The Denver Broncos will be without three players for Saturday’s exhibition game against the Seattle Seahawks. Wide receivers Brandon Marshall, Brandon Lloyd and safety Brian Dawkins did not make the team’s trip to Seattle, the Denver Post reports.

Marshall and Dawkins had missed two weeks with hamstring and hand injuries respectively, but returned to practice earlier this week. Marshall’s absence included a trip to Atlanta, GA, where he stood trial for misdemeanor battery and was acquitted. Dawkins has been wearing a non-contact jersey during work while he continues to wear a cast on his broken hand. Lloyd is absent with an unspecified injury after missing (at least) the last three days of training camp practices.

Surprising not to see the players make the trip at all, particularly Marshall, who is healthy. I’m not going to jump to conclusions just yet, but my fingers are telling me they’re tired of typing Marshall’s name already. Hope Lloyd’s alright.

In early returns on the forums, it’s about 80% that are assuming that Marshall simply didn’t show up vs. being told by McDaniels that he wasn’t making the trip.

It will be interesting when we get the official word from the team about why he didn’t make the trip.

It’s not impossible, but Marshall’s been showing up to practices to avoid fines. Seems silly to miss a game and get fined more.

OR maybe its just coaches descion not to carry and injured player. thats prob. why B. Dawkins and B. Loydd isnt going any where. Tripple B just isnt going. This article maybe title B Marsh but not just about him. I hope Nate Swift takes this oppertunity to make this team.

Mcd told marshall to stay home and read up on the playbook. He needs to get his head in that damn thing and start practicing with the 1’s.

Without the playbook knowledge BMarsh may just be out there looking sloppy and lowering his trade value. Or worse screwing up everyone else’s routes and rythm when they’re all being evaluated.

Keep him home with his nose in the book. Hopefully he’s really trying to learn it now. We the fans would love to see him on the field making plays. But the Broncos can afford to keep sitting him out until he’s ready up til Cleaveland if they wanted to. If he still hasn’t embraced the system by then he’ll probably ride the pine for most of the season and come out with less trade value. It’s up to him to take this team’s system seriously to get the serious contract $$$.

    Amen Mav_PM.
How big of a conract did arguably the greatest, or 2nd greatest WR ever get after he pouted for a season get? In case you’re wondering, I’m talking about Randy Moss (broke Rice’s records for a season, so that’s why I’m saying arguably greatest WR).
Moss got next to nothing when he signed with the Patriots. Do you know why? Because he showed that he gave up on the team the year before!
Marshall, if you want money, or want any team to trade for you, PLAY YOUR ASS OFF THIS SEASON!!! Do you know how many teams were clamoring to sign Moss? 1. exactly 1 team! And trust me, Moss is better than you!

Knowshon is also out. I’m not expecting to see him in game action until the opener.
