Josh McDaniels has a quarterback project. His name is Tom Bra–

Wait. Not Brady. The Denver Broncos Head Coach drafted Tom Brandstater out of Fresno State with the first pick of the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. The Broncos traded a 2010 fifth round pick to select Brandstater.

Brandstater (6’5″, 220 lbs.) has a good set of physical and mental tools to play quarterback at the pro level. Brandstater has decent arm strength, but struggles to deliver the deep ball accurately. He has good height and a decent frame (he could stand to add a few pounds), but he also has good mobility for his size. He’s got a good head on his shoulders, finishing his bachelor’s degree before his junior year (he’s currently finishing his master’s work).

We came into the draft with two quarterbacks, so drafting a third was inevitable. Brandstater will take some work to refine his mechanics and help his decision-makng, but we could be looking at the future of the franchise.

hes got good size and looks alright on tape. he does struggle with the deep ball but that can be easily fixed. I think He can be trained. he also seems to be pretty smart about football.

I like his size and athleticism a lot. He was on my list of late round QB’s that I was okay with us adding along with Bomar and Davis.

He has great size and as much as I hate this draft defensively(we didn’t fill enough line need imo), Xanders and McDaniels have set up our offense for years to come.

The o-line is set with Clady, Harris, and Kuper as the young guns, and as long as 1 of the 3 and Lichtenstieger pan out the line is set for years…Which is HUGE considering we just drafted a great running back prospect. Running back was not NEAR the top of our needs imo, but considering we now have Knowshon, we might as well embrace him and the possiblilties that he brings to our backfield.

Next year the D will continue to struggle but they will be much improved nonetheless. Dawkins is the type of player that demands the best out of everyone on the field, our D will not be lacking intensity this season. We will still struggle to stop the run, but Ayers is arguably the best of the ends in this draft at stopping the run in the back field. We definitely added depth in our secondary for years to come and one of those guys better emerge as very solid safety.

The tight-end pick, albeit surprising as hell for where it was, consider that McDaniel’s New England passing system calls for good blocking tight ends, and with the RB pick, he helps in that aspect as well. Consider also that Daniel Graham is EASILY the most overpaid player on our team, and McDaniel’s was considering cutting him from what i heard, but after talking to a couple players learned that DG was too important to the locker room in Denver to let go. This pick could eventually replace him though.

he is a project for sure. That short 3 step drop dont work to well we seen jakes last year and cutlers first year trying the same short drop back. Deep ball what deep ball?

NEVERMIND! can you believe that this guy is already 25 Thats almost older than Cutler just 6 months off! hes gonna retire after 5 seasons. Damn hes creeping up on josh mcdanials. Theres no reason to draft a guy that is that old. By the time they fix him hes gonna be 27 to 28 years old! they just wasted a sixth round pick

I think this is a great choice. He comes from NFL style coaching. He will be fune if the staff lets him play. You’ll see in preseason.

    Hey guys,

i know tom personally. he is very smart on the field. i think he fits the style offense that mc.d is bringing. if hes not the starter in a year or two, hell be a excellent backup. thats something i think we wont mind. Go Broncos!, go Dogs!
