Josh McDaniels and Jay Cutler tearing apart the Broncos. (Drew Litton, DrewLitton.com)
Josh McDaniels and Jay Cutler tearing apart the Broncos. (Drew Litton, DrewLitton.com)

There are plenty of conflicting reports out there – the latest, from John Czarnecki of FoxSports.com, indicates that Jay Cutler and his agent Bus Cook did indeed request a trade after Mike Shanahan was fired, long before any Matt Cassel trade talks began.

It’s frustrating as a fan because you develop an opinion based on what you believe to be true, only to have new information come out that can alter that opinion to a certain degree. It makes me wish I could get these four doofuses in a room, shove some magic truth serum down their throats/hook them up to a polygraph test/put them in a room with Jack Bauer and get some straight answers!

So there’s your hypothetical situation, Broncos fans. You can ask any one of these gentlemen – Cutler, McDaniels, Bowlen or Cook – one question, and you’re guaranteed to get a straight answer. One man. One question. What would you ask, and how would that help you develop an idea of what the Broncos should do from here?

Mine would be pretty simple. I’d ask Cutler, straight up, “Did you ever ask to be traded from the Broncos before the Cassel trade rumors were leaked?” I could draw my conclusions from there.

We want to hear from you Broncos fans! What question are you dying to ask, and to whom? Shoot them off in the comments.

  • CJ

Cutler: Why don’t you act more like a professional?

Josh: Why cant you fix this over a conversation like a normal coach would?

  • scottey

    Dear Pat,
Did you not say at the onset you wanted control because it was your team? How is taking control from Mike, and giving the same amount of control to an unproven coach an improvement? Is there a reason you are not disciplining McDaniels for LYING at the onset? Is there a reason your not following through on making our team better?

  • jcampb72

Bowlen: Are you really in control of this team?

  • dbroncos

My question would be just like Scottey’s and Jcampb72′s.

But since they already asked them i will ask a different one, but semi-related.

Pat: Why didnt you hire Steve Spagnuolo?

  • http://fftoolbox bryan scott

Mcdaneils:Do you really want jay cutler as yoyr quarterback, Long term

  • Fan From Spain

if it’s true Cutler requested a trade after Shany’s fireing, then that explains for McD’s move for Cassel. But still a shity way of handleing the whole situation by McD and Bowlen.

McD do you have plans to draf a QB?

  • Ryan M.

    I would ask Pat Bowlen:

“You’ve owned the Broncos for 25 years now…why do you still know dick about football?”

  • http://broncotalk.net Kyle

You know, a few minutes after posting this, I thought about my question some more. No matter how Cutler answers it, I still hold the same resolve:

The Broncos should do everything in their power to keep Cutler.
McDaniels handled the situation very poorly.

I need to play by my own rules and come up with a really, really good question that actually affects my thinking somewhat. I’ll get back to you…

  • http://myspace.com/paraleipsis jchase8410

Josh: the patriots you brought in say you are like Belichick and treat everyone the same…why is it that the feee agents you hired all feel welcome and wanted, but you lied to Jay and made/make him feel unwanted if you treat everyone the same?

  • http://fftoolbox bryan scott

I agree with you kyle, As the head coach he handled it poorly.

  • pwsbronco

    To Pat,
How do you fee now that you are being compared to Al Davis with this complete stupid, idiotic, embarassing, rookie screw up on the way your new coach and Gm have handled this from start to now since you have stated you are now in control ???????????

  • Jordan C

Fun Time With Jack! I have too many questions, I’ll let Jack pick.

  • Scott

Jay – Would you like to play for Jeff Fisher?

  • bronconinja

No so much a question as a statement….

Who honestly believes that giving up Jay Culter for a guy like Matt Cassel would be a good move!?!?!

Cassel is unproven as highschool backup and college back up and stepped into a roll with a team with a lot of talent and succeeded but so could I… he was fed with a silver spoon!

    Pt 2
Culter scheduled to mak lk what 2 milion and Cassel is getting 14!
Who trades down and pas more to do it!?!?!

No thats Ok I am gonna trade you my Beamer and I’ll take ur ford and how much do I owe you!?!? yeah right!!!! Now way!

Now Jay Bus has got you by the balls and and you can hear in you speach and McD got on ur knees and do what bus is doing but do it better! Cuz with this team you could have a ring on your finger very very soon! But not with a guy like Cassel!!!

  • Riverscanbl&wme

    Josh – “Are ypu Satan?”
Jay – “Are you ready to finish what you started?”
Pat – “I know you have a law degree and how much did that cost because this situation and your Zimmerman speech leave me with no other conclusion than that you are incompetent?”
Brian – no question just stating that if he agreed with Josh on getting rid of Jay for Cassel than he was correct, him and Josh will work good together in tearing this team apart and not building a dynasty. The team wants smart, versatile, clutch players but stupid coaches and management.

  • Jaiu

“Who is your daddy, and what does he do?”
    “Ginger or Maryann?”
Pat, could you please end this now?!?
    “Does this look infected?”

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

Cutler – “Why won’t you get a proper haircut? ”

Josh – ” When the time comes, will you do the right thing ….and draft Jack Elway as this teams QB.

GMX – “What exactly do you do?”

Pat Bowlen – ” Any truth to the rumor, Shanny hit on your wife?”

Bus Cook – ” Does it feel good collecting souls and ruining careers? “

  • http://mrherculesrockefeller.blogspot.com hercules rockefeller

Cutler – do you prefer Dashboard Confessional or a half-hearted horizontal slash across your wrist?

McDaniels – What other fun and exciting ways to destroy a storied franchise have you thought up?

Bowlen – What happened to the furs?

Cook – How many of your sisters/cousins have you had relations with, you hillbilly scumbag?

  • Dennis

To Cutler: If you requested a trade, why are you acting like a baby cause they tried to get one, because you want a big fat new contract right?

  • http://BroncoTalk.net Mr.East

I am sick and tired of people ragging Pat Bowlen. He called Jay Cutler and he didn’t pick up. Then Cutler whined about how Bowlen didn’t meet with him. Kudos to Bowlen for not kissing Jays ass. Bowlen is letting McDaniels handle it, thats the point. This is a head coach’s job.

My question is Dennis’ question. Jay Cutler most likely asked for a trade, it’s pretty obvious to discern from his school girl behavior. Sorry Kyle, but I don’t think you should have rephrased your question. It’s not Denver’s job to deal with a snot nosed brat as a QB.

  • http://mrherculesrockefeller.blogspot.com hercules rockefeller

Owners do not side with employees in labor disputes. They side w/ management.

Bowlen has absolutely no choice but to support McDaniels in this mess.

  • scottey

I would like to ask, where were all you bellyachers last year during the season? CUTLER WAS NEVER THE PROBLEM! He had to throw the ball 9 million times because they either a) couldn’t keep a lead or b) never had the lead to start with. Defense my friends, defense was the issue, there wasn’t one of you all that said, “man, I bet Cutler is a real problem for that team, let’s trade him!”
Cutlers actions may not be perfect, and there is no amount of money that makes it okay for him to bend over and take getting LIED to. This is a problem that was created by the new regime, and him having more loyalty to his old team, see, Gaffney, Paxton (almost cassel) than trying to be the next great coach of the BRONCOS!

  • http://BroncoTalk.net Mr.East

    scottey,

I agree Cutler was not the problem last season. This offseason his nothing but. If he asked a trade first then he’s proven to all us Denver fans that he’s no Bronco.

  • http://www.google.com T-Money

Cutler – “Are you ready to disappoint all your fans, your teammates and be know as the kid who committed career suicide?”

Josh – “Why don’t you show Cutler that you truly want him, if you truly do, by flying to Nashville this weekend and flat out confronting Jay?”

GMX – “On average, how many people do you screw over in a week?”

Pat Bowlen – “Is there a reason that you can’t hold a press conference and tell us what the hell is going on?”

Bus Cook – “Does the phrase “throw me under the bus” mean anything to you?”

  • BroncoinVA9986

    Dee burned em….

  • Kurt

Cutler – “Is the possibility of spending the next 5 years in football hell really worth this outburst?”

Josh – “What would you change about how this happened, if anything?”

Bus Cook – “Would you like me to vasoline the tip of this cattle prod before I stick it where the sun don’t shine?”

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

Well Kyle it seems you may be on to something with this post, because the people over at NFL.COM have asked Mr.Bowlen a question…
    http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80f54761&template=without-video-with-comments&confirm=true

He was asked if he thought Cutler would remain a Bronco.

“To tell you the truth, I have no answer to that question,” Bowlen said. “I would like to keep him here, obviously. But if you are going to be an unhappy camper, there is no real reason to be here.”

uh oh …. it gets deeper

Bowlen was asked if he has reservations about McDaniels, his new coach, or the way he handled this matter.

“Obviously, I am not going to criticize the head coach,” Bowlen said. “I think he was trying to be a head coach. As I see it, Jay got upset about things and his feelings were hurt, and here we are. I am not going to weigh in on who is to blame here. This whole incident has been written about and talked about, and I am moving on, personally. We’re getting ready for the draft and ready to play next season.”

My thoughts??? If your question is “what happens next?” you mau not like the answer.

  • kerry

McDaniels: is it true that you are Belichick’s personal shineboy?

Cutler: why are you being such a bitch?

Bowlen: Mr Bowlen could you please put down the bottle and tell me how many fingers im holding up?

Bus Cook: how do you still have a job?

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

    *Note

If you read the article, Bus Cook deny’s EVER asking the team to trade Cutler… Kurt get the cattle prod ready…

  • ryan

Bowlen: Can you start wearing the fur coat again?

Xanders: What exactly is it that you do here? (think Office Space)

Cook: Are you a poor man’s Scott Boras?

McDaniels: Are you that insecure or un-confident in your coaching abilities that you have to dump a young Pro Bowl QB for “your guy” who is half as talented?

Cutler: Do you REALLY want to be here?

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

Any Pat White fans in the building?
    http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/03/18/white-works-out-for-patriots-broncos/

Another question for McD … Are you going to draft Pat White?

Former West Virginia QB Pat White is proving to be one of the most intruiging prospects in the NFL Draft. Is he projected as a quarterback, or receiver? What about both? Based on those evaluations, how long will he last in the draft?

    The intrigue continues.

White worked out with the New England Patriots on Wednesday, spending the majority of the workout on wide receiver drills, and worked out with the Denver Broncos on Wednesday, according to league sources.

  • kerry

    Dee:

you want Pat White? because Pat White is just a Smaller Vince Young. all running ability and no QB ability. a RB trying to play QB. just like Young and like Mike Vick.

  • Jordan C

    kerry –

Not “shineboy” – apprentice in the dark side of the force.

    Almost everyone else –

Seriously, why are you guys recognizing that there really is blame to go around? Why do people insist on lumping blame on only one person?

    McDaniel’s screwed up.

    Cutler is acting nuts.

Bus “Jar Jar” Cook is acting like an agent should, as terrible as that might be.

Bowlen didn’t necessary make any direct mistakes, but he’s not exactly stepping up to the plate. He’s making mistakes by omission. Making a few phone calls is not going to cut it.

    Kyle –

Should we have another poll on Broncotalk? Should the Broncos trade Jay Cutler? Bench him? Kiss his ass with $100 mil?

  • Jordan C

If Cutler goes – Pat White 2009! Hell, yeah!

  • http://www.broncotalk.net Josh Temple

First off, LOL @ Herc’s comments, again.

    2nd:

McDaniels: Did you really think that shipping Cutler and a 1st round pick to Tampa Bay (the pick thing hasn’t been confirmed nor denied) for Matt Cassel was a better option? WTF, are you retarded to think that?

Cutler: Do you really think you’re going to have a better career at this point in the situation other than being a Bronco? I give you Minn, maybe.

Bowlen: When did it become ok to be the laughing stock of the league? Doesn’t this embarass the crap out of you?

Xanders: I haven’t liked anything you’ve done yet, unless it was signing Dawkins, so just STFU.

  • Jordan C

    kerry –

I think that you’re wrong about Pat White. You’re lumping him in with those guys unfairly. I think that he’s more in the mold of Donavon McNabb, including the “nobody believes in me” attitude.

First, he’s much smarter than Vick and Young.

Second, he drew absolutely no criticism regarding his throwing abilities during the pre-draft evaluation activities. All I heard was that people were impressed.

Sure, he’s got shortcomings – height, spread offense, etc. But he’s got the most potential and upside of any QB in the draft, IMO.

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

    Kerry

I dont know if I want him or not, I saw the link and posted it because I know there at Pat White fans here. I do like the fact that the organization isnt being held upby the Cutler situation and actively looking for options to improve the team.

  • Jordan C

    (dee) –

That article really hedges on what exactly Pat White did while visiting the Broncos. The title implies that he ran routes, but in the text, it clarifies that he ran routes for the Pats, but not that he did for the Broncos. It could be just a matter of lack of info and journalistic integrity, but it really makes you wonder.

By the way, in case it was ambiguous, I am a Pat White fan. He’s only a little shorter than Drew Brees, by the way. Watching the video in the article reveals that he’s got great rhythm and footwork, im(humble)o.

  • Colorancher

    Jay, Josh, Pat, and Buss;
Why are you doing this to the Bronco Fans?
We are not Raider fans. Too much highschool drama. Grow up and be men!!!!!

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

    Jordan C

It says he may be a 2nd rounder, if he can come in and make the type of impact Eddie Royal does for us at either position I would be all for it , however I didnt see him play so I am going off of your opinion which I have no reason to believe is incorrect.

  • Brian

To all parties involved in this cluster …”Can’t we all just get along?” Rodney King! Rodney King!

  • Bill

I have heard a lot of people say that Jay should just suck it up and play. To those people I ask “Would you take this from your boss?” Having managed people for more than thirty years I’ve learned one thing, “Treat your people / players like you want them to treat you.” Obviously Josh hasn’t been around long enough to know how to treat people / players, and at the rate he is going he never will learn. I’m sure Pat is wondering what he got his beloved team (and loyal Bronco’s fans) into by now. Loyalty… there’s an interesting concept.

  • champ2203

pat white guys? Come on get real. We don’t need a mike vick, we need an actual QB that can throw not run.

Denver is forced to trade Cutler this whole thing is a distracting for the team. He is going to Clev, and we r getting quinn end of story.

Bus Cook – ” Did Bret Farve blow you too?“

I saw that we had Pat White in a private workout. Things are starting to heat up! I don’t know why my question would be, I’d want to know if Cutler really felt like he was going to get 50-70 acres in Detroit or Tampa…

I don’t really see how Josh McDaniels has mishandled the situation, East talks about it a lot. Which employee gets to act like this and doesn’t get fired?

McDaniels told Cutler that he came to Denver to coach him, Cutler asked for a trade, the Broncos are going to need a quarterback if Cutler wants a trade– no?

  • SuperfanDB

My question to Jay: When did you first realize that you are not John Elway? You need a time out more than my two year old. By the way, I really wish John would work some behind the scenes to help the situation.

Question to Bowlen: Have you though of easier ways to blow your money? Is it just me or is he starting to look and act like Al Davis.

Question to McD: If you could get your old mentor in a choke hold right now, would you let up when he tried to tap out? You will be ok dude and thanks for outing our QB for the immature turkey that he is. Don’t give up on him though, some of the NFL’s best started and finished their career as huge morons.

To Shanny: Serious dude, you saw this crap coming with Jay didn’t you? That cocktail on the beach counting your 20 million makes you the big winner in this whole farce. Congratulations, you really are the master strategist. I knew we couldn’t dump three straight to end the season without a bigger plan.

  • Tom9798

    To Josh . . . Why? . . .

this seems to be the most obvious question to ask . . .

Three months ago Pat Bowlen said that Jay Cutler was our franchise QB . . .

For three years Jay has been told that “you are the man,” and will be here your entire career . . .

in 1993 John Elway threw for 4,030 yds. ( his most ever to that date) and 25 T.D.’s . . . it was his 11th yr. in the NFL . . . Jay Cutler threw for 4,526 yds. and 25 TD’s in his 3rd yr. and made the Pro-Bowl . . .

it was our sorry defense that needed to be changed . . . .

Why would you come here and do this to BroncoWorld? . . .what did you not like about the offense? . . . was it something from last year? . . . was it a comment that Belichick made?

and to all of you that have given Jay a ration . . . how would you feel? . . . one day you are the man . . . the next day your older brother is trying to ship you out of town . . .

    So I ask you Josh . . . Why?

  • rcsodak

Screw the questions. I said from the beginning that he’d asked to be traded from the get-go. He’s a frickin’ spoiled baby that seriously needs to have some tough love *or blanket party* thrown at him.

  • katco

this is to JAY AND BUS, why was bus there if it was not for a trade or new contract?

  • http://myspace.com/paraleipsis jchase8410

Come on Ian….what employee gets to act like this? Did you just start watching sports this month?

Kobe demanded a trade from the Lakers, and they responded by building a team around him, bringing in talented players, and they have been in the race for a championship last year and this year.

In all fairness, however, Kobe is arguably the BEST player in the NBA. I don’t think the same can be said of CutLer in the NFL. I do believe that if the Broncos built DECENT a TEAM around Jay (O, D, & ST) they would be in the running THIS year. However, none of that will happen if McD can’t simply tell Jay, “I want you to be my QB”

  • http://www.google.com T-Money

I wonder how many times the same thing has been said in the last ten articles. It seems like everybody types the same thing every time. It’s very annoying.

  • Tom9798

    katco . . . jchase8410 . . . both good points made . . .

to Jchase first . . . . “due diligence” . . . Jay C. might be the best in the NFL . . . albeit years behind some . . . he has eclipsed some of the best and his agent knows it . . . if you were his agent you would want the best for your client . . (please don’t run the “he’s making money too . . . that’s his job . . . he’s entitled, just as you would be) . . . .

The “due diligence” part . . . . I scan the NFL . . . just Google a city and sport . . . I have scanned twelve cities east of the Mississippi and every one of them want Jay Cutler . . . read the blogs . . . yeah, there are the usual people on hippy lettuce that just want to hear themselves talk . . . . but the people who really know what’s going on say that this guy has a cannon for an arm and will bring them to a Superbowl . . . please. . . please . . . bring him to our city . . . .

    to katco . . . pay him the money . . . I don’t think that was the impetus behind this fiasco . . . but who cares . . . .

If he was called the franchise QB three months ago by Pat Bowlen and told he would be here for his career . . . .

    Ten years . . . 130 million . . . bonuses for every AFC West and every AFC Championship . . . and every Superbowl . . . .

and if you think this is out of line . . . spend some time reseaching what some othe teams will do for him . . . .

  • Nicole

I had an opportunity to read Bowlens interview and it was one of the DUMBEST interviews that I have ever read. No wonder he’s friends with Jerry Jones- all that Jack Daniels they’ve been drinking has eroded his thinking.

    1) Isn’t it funny that the article came out about Jay asking for a trade while this is coming to a head?
    2) Reporters and coaches are alike, they are programmed to lie
3)Why is Pat Bowlen acting like he can’t stop it, he’s the owner and he has the last say so. What he has done is allowed someone else to make a hard decision
    4) Contrary to popular belief, Jay will not end up in Detroit because they don’t have a qb to give. As for Cleveland, there is a new player in the game-the New York Jets. They also employ NE people and from the articles that I have read, they will do whatever it takes to acquire Cutler. Bowlen allowed someone else to roll the dice and in effect opened a flood gate for teams that need a qb. I know that alot of you will be gald when he’s gone, but he will never be gone because you WILL see him again because the teams that have jumped to the front have developed defenses and have shopped for the pieces. Your inability to know how to play the game will cost you more than bad pr, you will be starting from scratch and hoping to land something. Well guess what, you HAD something and due to the inability to pony up and play the game, he’s gone. You will lose alot more than you could ever imagine. Bowlen is literally 30 years behind the eight ball, but the gm that runs the bears, bucs, jets, and yes the vikings are prepared to go to war and get that final piece. Thank you Josh for not knowing when to bend, thanks Jay for knowing that he WAS going to trade you again, thanks Bowlen for bringing down your organization and dragging fans into it. You sure make likng the Cowboys a piece of cake.

  • Tom9798

    Nicole . . . I’m begging you . . . if liking the Cowboys is a piece of cake . . . . please go to a Cowboys blog and say all you like . . . .

All I have heard from any of your blogs is Jerry Jones this and Troy Aikmen that . . . .

Nobody here cares about the Dallas Cowboys! . . .

Cutler: Do you understand how good and young our O Line is? Do you know how badly it would suck to play in detroit? Can me, you and josh get a 12 pk of brew and hang out?

McD: Do you know how much easier success will be in Denver with Jay Cutler? When you, me and jay go get a 12 pk will you give 25 reasons why cutler is better than cassel?

Cook: If me, jay and josh go get a 12 pk of brew and run around invesco will you NOT come?

  • Tom9798

    broncoNM . . . a little “mind eraser” in order . . . .

  • Broncoholic

I’ll completely stick to the rules here (one question for one guy):

Jay, would you rather have a lot of $ and a SB ring, or would you rather have a ridiculously insane amount of $, no SB ring, no respect from fans, a possible career ending injury from being sacked 40-50 times per year(not to mention all the other hits you’ll take during hurries & forced throws), more INT’s & tantrums thrown from said crappy protection, and an overall crappier career?

It’s not all about $. You’re going to die rich regardless (unless you’re a bigger idiot than I thought).

There’s no Clady, Hamilton, Wiegmann, Kuper, & Harris in Detroit. You might reach 11 sacks by the 3rd Quarter of Week 2. (I know the Lions don’t have a QB so many will say Detroit isn’t a trade partner, but if Cutler forces us to trade his a**, I would come up with a 3 or 4 team deal, whatever it takes to somehow send him to that sorry franchise). Wake the F**K up and come back to Broncos Country!

  • http://birty.blogspot.com mikebirty

Jay: “If you were Josh McDaniels how would you make sure this works out best for the Broncos?”
Josh: “If you were Jay Cutler what would you need to do to resolve this?”

  • Tom9798

    Broncoholic . . . . we are on the same page . . . and as the comment I left to BroncoNM . . . . this is on Josh . . . . fly to Nashville . . . call Jay and have him come to meet you . . . . polish off a case of Bud Light and a bottle of Hornitos . . . . say I messed up . . . you are my guy for the remaining of your career . . . I’ll see to it . . . done deal . . .

  • Tom9798

    Mikebirty . . . I think I answered this on the previous couple blogs . . . I asked my one question at blog #53 with a few notations down the way . . . .

    Bottom line . . . . if Josh can actually clean this mess up . . . I will really look forward to the Bronco’s season . . . if Jay get’s traded . . . I hope it is to an NFC team . . . you don’t want to have to face this guy anytime soon . . . .

    T-Money . . . good point but it won’t happen for the very reason you named . . . .

There are alot of people who point out analogies . . . here’s one to consider . . .

    Manny will get 25,000,000 this year from the Dodgers . . . . go to the ballpark . . . maybe the ball comes to you . . . swing the bat . . . . scratch yourself again . . . maybe a hotdog at 7th inning . . .

Jay Cutler is scheduled to make 1,000,000 in 2009 . . . go to the field . . . bullseye on you . . . . run for your life . . . maybe get the pass off . . . get the crap beat out of you if you don’t . . . take alot of crap from everyone regardless. . . .

    Cutler’s total contract for the next three years . . . including all bonuses is 20,000,000 . . .

This guy is a steal and every team in the NFL . . . including the one’s that have great quarterbacks . . . are salivating at the possibility that McD won’t be able to clean up the mess he made . . .

    Tom-

Not at all. I personally wish that Jay wears a Bronco uniform next year. In fact, what gave me hope is that when JC finally did ask for a trade, McD was almost taken-a-back if you will, and immediately felt the need to fix it. I also believe that his price tag is to steep and no one can offer a ligament replacement. I don’t think a drafted QB is the sountion be it Matt Stafford or the White kid. I also don’t think that Derek Anderson or Brady Quinn is the answer. I think that McD know that he has the one thing that has John Elway potential, and I think it took him to be love sick over matt cassel to finally realize it. I go back and forth every day on what i believe because of all the new roumors and bs articles that are written, but as of the last few days I think the Broncos are going to either 1.keep JC and hope that once he starts playing and the relationship gets fixed or 2. a draft day trade for 2 1st rounders and a player (most likly a QB) . I don’t think McD will take anything less unless it’s peyton manning or tom brady.

    tom9798,
You know why I say it, because we’ve already done eveything that you are doing-take this advice because you need it. DON’T RUN OFF YOUR QUARTERBACK. YOU NEED TO WISE UP AND PULL A DALLAS COWBOY- DO WHATEVER HAS TO BE DONE- JUST GET IT DONE!

  • http://broncotalk.net Kyle

    From that ESPN article:

“As recently as the last meeting between Cutler and McDaniels, Cook said his client was ready to commit to the Broncos. However, he claims, the Broncos wouldn’t commit to Cutler.”

Everything Cutler has said is Yes, I want to be a Bronco. Can the Broncos reciprocate that?

No they haven’t, or won’t. That’s McD’s prerogative. That’s the way he wants to handle his team. Some poeple agree with it. I don’t. It’s tearing the team apart.

News to McDaniels: You need a quarterback to keep a head coaching job in this league. You had a franchise quarterback, and you blew it. Your “my way or the highway” approach will see both you and Cutler hitting the road in the end.

no questions here – but I read an article today where one un-named NFL Exec (not from the Broncos) stated and trade should to another team should return, a QB from the team roster, their 1st rd pick, and either their 1st or 2nd pick in 2010. Trade him now. How about Cutler to Cleveland for Quinn, Shaun Rogers (unhappy in that dump), and their 2nd pick, #36.

I going to say this: After the last few days I’ve decided the following…

    1. Jay Cuter needs to be the starting QB for the Broncos.
    2. Jay’s Temmates need to show Jay some love, and say ‘Jay WE need you.
    3. Josh McDaniels needs to consider a new contract. Something that says “Jay I f***ed up! As PROOF that you’re my guy, I want to give you millions and millions of dollars for the new 10 year contract. I’m even going to take you out for beer and wings after every game win or loose.
    4. Xanders needs to confront jay and say the following “Jay, I was my bad that we took that call, but you’re my guy to”
    5. Pat Bowlen needs to say “Jay, i got to far out ahead of myself and for that I’m sorry. You’re my guy till death do us part!”
    6. Then Jay has to say the following to all three “I’m sorry for the way that I handled this situation, I made it much more dramitc than it needed to be. I’m glad that we are now on the SAME page!” as a bonus he should then turn to his left to Bus and say “you’re fired!”
    7. All together they sould hold a team conference and tell the team the following: “We all F***ed up. But It’s all good now. Let’s go win a championship!”

    EVERYBODY WINS!

  • stav

That was amazing. I started laughing hysterically after reading that. While we’re at it, we’ll then fire McD, bring Shanny back, and Elway as the o-coordinator for Cutler. That’s all fantasy, the sports world has become way too corporate to ever function in such a way.

  • patg

josh mcdaniels needs to swallow his pride and get down on his knees and beg cutler to stay. if he won’t do that on his own, pat bowlan needs to force mcdaniels to fix the situation no matter what it takes. if neither of those situations work to get cutler back than i say bring back shanahan who they never should have fired in the first place

  • CJ

You guys are in fairy land thats never gonna happen this is the nfl. Jay Cutler wants out. This isnt like chad johnson hes a quarterback you cant force him to do anything. Hes gonna get traded likely. I want him back as much as the next denver fan but lifes a bitch!

I say lets get both of detroits first rounders!

Get Stafford and let him be the next brady
Go Cushing and satisfy our linebacker core
Depending on whos left at 20 just take the best guy on the board on defense

  • slkdjfod

State of the Franchise on NFL Total Access tonight stated that Cutler said he will be going to all the mandatory stuff and the Broncos have said that they are not going to trade him, this is all going to clear up, it was just a bad month…

  • Nicole

    Bronco fans,
Thanks for the update on the state of the franchise- I missed it watching college basketball! Look, here’s what needs to happen:
    1) You need a quarterback- Cutler
    2) You need a coach- Mcdaniels
Problem: They’re both young, hormone driven, and hard headed
Solution: DON’T PART WITH EITHER ONE!
Why: Everyone will lose in the end. It seems that the odds of finding a good qb is becoming more difficult than ever. McDaniels wants a patriot system: okay- the problem is that he hasn’t won anything and has shown his inexperience. TRUST ME HE’S LEARNING
Cutler wants to be the guy: okay-the problem is that he thinks that he has been lied to.

Solution: If you break them up, neither one will learn from their mistakes:
    1) Cutler will learn that temper tantrums don’t work anymore and he’ll work at resolving them
    2) Mcdaniels will learn that before I try something, I will make sure that I have covered myself completely and be prepared to expalin to the party later. What he wants to do can’t be accomplished until he starts winning.
    3) Denver: trying to force cutler/mcdaniels out of town won’t serve you either. Why? You will have to adjust to high end drama and show the ability to HANG TOUGH and keep it together!

An agents job is to create as much drama as possible-solution:
    1) THE BRONCOS HAVE TO CALL COOK’S BLUFF- HE CAN ONLY DO WHAT YOU ALLOW HIM TO DO
    2) Lay the law down about cutler/mcdaniels: NOBODY’S LEAVING
    3) let their showdown begin: NEITHER ONE WANTS TO LOSE SO THEY’LL COME OUT SWINGING.

YOU HAVE TO TURN THE TIDE DENVER AND HOLD ON TIGHT TO BOTH- WISHING FOR A TRADE TO DETROIT FOR DRAFT PICKS THAT YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CAN BACKFIRE. YOU HAVE A NUCLEUS- MAKE THEM FIGHT IT OUT.

Cook knows that your front office is inexperienced and he will use it to his advantage. If you trade Cutler, one drama will end and another one will begin: THE SEARCH FOR ANOTHER QB THAT MAY ONCE AGAIN BE REPRESENTED BY COOK. IF YOU GIVE IN THIS TIME, HE’LL KNOW HE CAN DO IT AGAIN.

DENVER YOU CAN DO THIS! DON’T GIVE IN TO THE HIGH END DRAMA: KEEP YOUR QB AND COACH AND SHOW THE WORLD THAT THE BRONCOS CAN HANDLE ANYTHING THAT’S THROWN THEIR WAY!

  • 5280

I saw this in a mock draft blog from the Dog pounder(s). For what it’s worth… http://www.footballsfuture.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=309637

    ____________

    Trade:
Brady Quinn, Shaun Smith and 1st to Denver for Jay Cutler and 1st…..

    ___________

then I read this response to the idea
    ___________

I heard this today on sirius radio today, i wanted to call in so BAD, can you tell me why your willing to give them both players, imo thats way to much. this is just CRAZY!!!!!

quinn and our 1st for cutler and their 1st. thats the only way i make this deal

    ___________

So then I do a little investigation into Shaun Smith. He’s a DT that wasn’t drafted and has played for 6 different teams in his 7 year carrier.

Then I read this and laughed until I cried….

    ___________

On December 23, 2008, various media outlets reported that Quinn had a physical altercation with Smith in the Browns’ weight training room, and that Smith punched Quinn in the face. Quinn denied the reports, and coach Romeo Crennel refused to comment; however, Browns tight end Darnell Dinkins confirmed the fight during a radio interview on WQAL. Smith did not play in the following game because of a “coaches’ decision”.[1]

    __________

Hey, this idea is so “CRAZY” it just might work!

  • Nicole

    5280,
you’re right, it is crazy. Leave them where they are and concentrate on STANDING TALL and winning this battle. YOU HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO DO WHAT PEOPLE SAY YOU CAN’T : HAVE THE COACH AND THE PLAYER. DON’T GIVE THE MEDIA THE SATISFACTION OF SAYING YOU COULDN’T HANDLE IT!

  • RHINO

I love this website and I read it all the time but I never had the urge to comment untill now. I ‘ve become rather calice to this whole situation and had a “whatever” attitude and I think both parties are at fault. Something happend last night. While watching NFL net my six year old son said “I want Jay Cuttler as our QB”. I said “why”? He said “because he is good”. This has changed my thinking. I want him to have great memories has I did of Elway growing up. saying all that, here are my questions.
Josh: If my six year old son knows Jay is a good QB, why don’t you?
Jay: don’t you know that if you Man Up and play ball myself, my six year old son, and football fans across the nation will respect, admire, and love you more than ever? You will be a football God.

why aren’t more people talking about this quote (link from MHR) by bill belichick (http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/articles/2009/03/20/belichick_adds_touch_of_spice/?page=2):

He didn’t deny that Denver made a last-minute overture about a three-way trade that league sources said would have netted the Patriots a first-round pick, but said the Broncos, or any other team, never presented a concrete trade offer that was better than the deal they made. “We pretty much had the deal done with Kansas City because there really wasn’t any interest,” said Belichick. “Some of the teams who said [we could do it] as part of a three-way trade and that kind of thing, I don’t want to get into the specifics, but believe me, those teams I personally had contact with 24 to 48 hours before the confirmation of Matt’s trade to Kansas City, and they said they had no interest in the player. [emphasis added by ssc]

maybe mcd isn’t lying and he really wasn’t pursuing the trade.

  • Stav

Whatever – I personally believe that they should make Cookler (that ungodly Player/Agent combo monster) stand the line, come to mandatories, MAKE HIM PLAY, and just ride the wave. As much as he’s cried, he’s still too much of a competitor to let his game go to s**t. He’ll rise to the challenge on the field. If not, if he/they make this an even worse situation:

Quinn (unproven/hasn’t done anything), Shaun Rogers (unhappy in Cleveland), and the Browns 2nd rd#36 pick for Cutler and our 2nd pick.

or 3-way, Quinn and the Jets #17 – You do that in a second. Starting QB familiar with the system, and the #12 and #17 for us on 2009? I’ll say it, if that happens, go with Moreno or Maclin at #12, and then go Defense at #17.

Just dreaming here, but I just want a decision to be brought down. I’m sick of this. He is or he isn’t our QB, pick one, its alot simpler than this is being made out to be. Before I was taking this all way too personal, I was going to cancel my NFL package, bombard the team with e-mails and voicemail. Screw this, I root for the Orange and Blue not the particular player who fills that jersey. I believe the reports that Cookler asked for a trade after Shanny was let go, I also believe McD was all hot and bothered to try and get Cassel. That’s all done with and this is yet again a business, you want to get paid Cookler? Go to the ProBowl again, get us in the playoffs this season, and you keep the ints at a max of 15 or atleast throw 28+ TDs. That’s worth re-negotiating his contract with 2yrs left. You want to win McD? Go get some s**t on your nose courtesy Cutler’s ass, time to eat crow. Stop wasting our time and point this team in a direction for this season, I think we’re owed atleast that.

  • Red

I miss Shanahan, I do, but Pat Bowlen would have Josh McDaniels as coach, so for the next couple of years he has the reins.
Now, moving forward, we need Bowlen to confront the media, confront Jay Cutler and tell him we respect your position, but we need a solid offensive leader of championship calibur; we need someone who is going to strive and step up through the pressure. From you, Jay, we need a 100% commitement or it is time for you to seek a new home.
My question to Pat Bowlen is ” Would you consider in a years time from now, as things aren’t going to mend any quicker, talking to Mike Shanahan about coming back to be the offensive cordinator.”

To Josh McDaniels I say ” Please understand the nature of this football organization: we will not tolerate a coach who doesn’t fully appreciate our city and history built around the Broncos; we will not be built to mirror the Patriots or any other team. We need the Orange Crush to rise once again to bring Super Bowl Championships. As far as dealing with your QB? Your in the house that John built-please, be respectable and do the best you can dealing with our QB to be, whomever it will be.
To Cutler ” There is nobody in this town that wants you to go. You’ve not done anything but stand up for yourself in the face of a difficult transition. What about the commaradarie between you and Brandon Marshall? Brandon Stokley? This offense was built around you-don’t forget that. We need a leader in the heat of Championship battle-a contender for World Champion. Can you be this for the Denver Broncos?”

  • urway2hot2hold

Pat: Didn’t you fire Mike Shanahan because you want to win? Why did you ever let your new coach even talk about getting rid of your franchise and your best chance of winning?

  • Nicole

    T-Money,
I also read that link and it’s great. Mcdaniels has been signing people based on the “win now” concept. Well, you do want to win now and you do need a good qb under center (that schedule is a killer).

Q for Mcdaniels: How can you pitch with no solid qb?
How can you get out of this mess?

Q for Jay: Can you cool down in a month?
Are you willing to play for the guys?

Can they both find a common ground? Honestly, yes they can and that’s why denver is holding out. They need each other and that’s why Bowlen won’t give the word. They have to show that they can take the heat, fix it, and move forward. No one will win if he’s traded-it could take 5 years for another one to come along. Mcdaniels wants to win now so he needs Cutler to help him sell athletes now. Tell me what you think guys!

  • http://www.google.com T-Money: Link Ambassador

    Tom-

No matter where Jay goes hes and immediate upgrade. He has a very special talent it just hasn’t come 100% out yet, and he has trouble controlling it, but thats beside the point.

With Calvin Johnson and a good running back, he could make the Lions AT LEAST and 6-10 team. I think he’s that good.

  • http://broncotalk.net (dee)

After careful consideration, I think the best solution to this mess is to have everyone shut up… that means Bus , GMX, THE MEDIA, Pat, FANS, eveyone needs to be quiet…

Will this happen? No… but one can dream.

I say get rid of him at this point. I’ve lost all respect for the man.

WHY DO ALL YOU WANT HIM SO BAD, WHEN HE CLEARLY DOESN’T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT US?

  • http://myspace.com/paraleipsis jchase8410

    NathanH

I want him because he is the best option available at the most important position on the team. I want him because I respect that he wants his superiors (only in a business sense) to be straight forward with him, instead of playing these “maybe we’ll keep you around, maybe not” games. I want him because he will be a pro-bowl caliber QB for years to come, and will only get better with experience.

There are plenty of reasons to keep him around. The only reason I get from people not to keep him is he’s a “baby.” I have read that at least 400 times in the last month. The point is this…the pros far outweigh the cons when it comes to Cutler. This is not from a personal or business perspective, but from a player perspective.

Jay and Lil’ Mac are both just posturing, and sometimes when you posture up, you get punched in the mouth. Other times, the other party backs down. The thing is, whether McD believes it or not, the Broncos need Jay much more than he needs them. There are at least 10+ teams chomping at the bit to get their hands on Cutler, and he has a good shot at contending for a title with half of them.

If everybody else wants Jay, what does that say about McD’s ability to evaluate talent. He WANTED Matt Cassel…the only other team that wanted him was KC, where Pioli is the GM. New England people are the only ones in the league that wanted Cassel, pretty much everyone wants Cutler.

  • Nicole

    Jchase8410,
Thank you for beating me to the answer. We are fighting hard to keep Cutler because he’s your qb. He’s not fighting you- he’s fighting management. He wants the lock down because he wanted to stay a bronco, but it was Pat Bowlen’s job to get it done. You say that he whines too much. okay here’s a story for you:

The Cowboys (yeah I know but this is a real important point, hang on) were confronted about the isuue of a qb who was labeled: immature, hard to work with, mouthed off. So we chose: mature, did what was asked, and was quiet.
    The bad apple: Dan Marino
    The good apple: Gary Hogeboom
IT TOOK THE COWBOYS A DECADE AND SIX QB’S LATER TO CORRECT THE PROBELM. No one is willing to go to Invesco every weekend and watch supposed talent play (which you know nothing about) versus fighting to keep real talent. If you think that Jay doesn’t care, YOU ARE DEAD WRONG, HE’S FIGHTING TO LEAVE BECAUSE HE DOES CARE- HE WANTS TO GO WHERE THEY WILL SAY THOSE WORDS AND MEAN IT. Romo fought hard for a lockdown because he wanted to stay the cowboys qb and he was dead right for doing it. You are not in a position to start frOm scratch, there are too many veterans on this team and it will create a ripple effect on young talent. You won’t get anything in return for Cutler, your coach sold his free agents on winning now- that includes Cutler. I’ve sat through all those years of looking for the next big thing- you could be waiting a DECADE and that’s a long time. We learned a big lesson from that debacle and that’s what the fans in denver want to avoid. YOU WILL SINGLE HANDEDLY ALTER NOT ONLY YOUR FRANCHISE-BUT ANOTHER ONE. THIS GUY IS THE REAL DEAL-IT’S TIME TO THINK ABOUT TOMORROW BECAUSE FOCUSING ON ONLY TODAY CAN RUIN EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED. Sorry, I’m not willing to take that chance and apparently neither are the broncos since they’re holding on.

  • Tom9798

    T-Money . . . .

did some scanning . . . not coming up with reciprocol communication from the Broncos . . . .

The Bronco organization is being inundated with calls from all over the NFL . . . and are acutely aware of Jay Cutler’s value . . .

The gut feeling I have is that the Bronco’s are not happy with any of the trade deals that they have heard as such . . . .

Maybe this could change with a little honey . . . but I’m starting to think that there are no starting QB-Draft package deals that have appealed to them . . .

I feel that this will be clarified by Tuesday . . . The owner’s meeting in CA starts Sunday . . . and I think McD will speak on Tuesday . . .

One of two things will happen . . . . McD will say they are entertaining trade talk for Jay . . .

or The Bronco’s are not trading Jay . . . period . . . he is under contract for the next three years and is not going anywhere . . .

    I hope it is the latter . . .

    Win the AFC West . . . AFC Championship . . . win the Superbowl . . .
Jay will have a lifetime contract with more money than he or Bus Cook knows what to do with . . . .

    Sorry I did not answer blog #116 the way I should have . . . got carried away . . .

If Jay does go to the Detroit Lions . . . they would be 8-8 or better . . . I saw Miami spin in one season . . . they just need a QB with attitude . . .

and while it would be nice to throw to Calvin Johnson . . . he is not Brandon Marshall on one side . . . Gaffney on the other . . . and Eddie Royal in the slot . . .

  • Tom9798

    jcampb72 . . . . thanks and I hope I’m right that they don’t trade Jay before the weekend is up! . . . .

As far as I a concerned, Jay is our QB until he actually gets traded. I am not going to entertain these “what if” scenarios, or possible 3-4 team deals. I am going to have faith in my Broncos and assume Jay is going to be behind center for the 09 season

  • Nicole

    Jchase8410,
I completely agree! If they’re goiing to unload it would have already been done-remember 6 qbs before we got it right. It is in their best interest to keep him. DON’T DO WHAT WE DID!

  • http://www.google.com T-Money: Link Ambassador

    Tom-

I agree. I think that if they really wanted to trade jay they would have by now. As each day goes on I have the growing sense that McD is going to stick true to his words 1. We are not going to trade JC 2. We would not trade him for draft picks.

As I’ve said before, there is an extremely steep price tag for Jay and I’m positive that the Broncos wouldn’t trade for anything less than 2 first round draft picks, one in the top 5, a second or third round pick, and a least one player, more than likely a QB. Otherwise it’s just shooting them selfs in the foot (again).

As it’s been reciprocated by just about everyone…It’s in Denver best interest to just keep jay. Give him a new deal if that’s what it takes.

What is that called when three people are all pointing guns at each other ? Broncho Stand-off .

  • http://broncotalk.net/2009/03/mcdaniels-wants-to-talk-to-cutler-before-trade/#comment-19243 Elway7_1987

I think that McDaniels needs to become a better coach. Cutler is a franchise quarterback that needs to be kept. I dont really know if im completely satisfied with McDaniels getting the job. Since he got the job there has been nothing but controversy. Bowlen also presumably told Cutler that they would not let go of the Offensive Coach. What did McDaniels do under the supervision of Bowlen. Let him go. Which really made Cutler mad. Why wouldnt it? I would be too if my coach told me everything would be alright and goes and stabs me in the back. Then they go and try to trade him. I can see why he is mad. I just hope that he can find some way to forgive them and move on and get ready for the next season.

  • broncobobmeridian

I think they will trade Jay if they get a QB and another quality player or 1rd pick. With over ten teams interested in trading for Jay one of thoses teams will offer the Broncos a deal that no team would pass up.

  • broncobobmeridian

Think about it. Say the broncos could get Anderson or Quinn and another top defensive player or 1 rd pick.

  • broncobobmeridian

Look at the timing of the lastest news about more than ten teams have called the broncos interseted in trading for Jay. That news came out on Friday 2 days before the Owners Meetings start on Sunday. The Broncos are starting the bidding war.

  • http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3983805 WhidbeyBronco

    wow, we’re really bored eh?
I actually think we fans are looking pretty good.
If we get market value… I sure hope we don’t!
But if we do, a couple 1st rounders would help.
I actually like Chris Simms. If he’s in shape… I’ll take him above Alexander & I’d take him over quinn too if it meant one less 1st.
The only name I’ve heard that I like at all… Romo. Talk about a guy getting no love. Like Jay, he breaks all the team single season records because of glaring faults on the o-line rather than our defense, they don’t go to the play-offs and the spoiled fans actually dog him. Did anybody notice him NOT running for his life last year?
    Still I prefer Jay.

Has anybody considered BTW; if we get two more 1st rounders or a Matt Lienert … how the hell do we pay them?
Jay’s a steal this year and whatever monies we do have leftover must be allocated to next years QB. Whoever that may be.
    Time to stand pat Broncos
Jay will play, winning will make everybody happy

    T-Money,
Please don’t ever post anything with Deion Sanders on it. This is the same man that said that all that matters is money and he changed teams 3 times in 4 years. NO ONE NEEDS HIS ADVICE-MAYBE IF HE’D BEEN SMART HIS FIRST WIFE WOULD STILL BE AROUND. My how they try to change their stripes once they’re through playing.

  • http://www.google.com T-Money: Link Ambassador

    Nicole-

No offense but there was about 5 minutes after Deion. I post the links because it’s about the broncos and more specifically about this Cutler deal. What he said was is dead on. Cutler needs to man up and lead his team. They put a “C” on his chest for a reason. And I do right some about the videos before i post, with a few exceptions, so if you read that you’ll know whos in the video.

OK! I’d like to leave one thought. I’ve been a bronco fan , scince God’s dog was a pup.Pat Bowlin has gone senile ,and is ready to go with Al Davis to the old folk’s home.I really hope the Raider”s jump on Jay Cutler, and annilate the Bronco’s at every meeting, that the Donko,s go winless’ until they finally throw this BOZO called MCDIMWIT under the bus, and run over him.

Here is todays pool question on NFL . COM

Will Jay Cutler be a member of the Denver Broncos next season?

    Yes: 35%

    No: 65%

    Total Votes: 23242

  • http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3983805 WhidbeyBronco

Deion has always been the type of player I want to dislike, all about the money and showboating… but he backed it up. He’s right this time too. Jay needs to step up now. What face does he lose by showing up and working hard now? He “requested” a trade, he’s not a punk like Chad Johnson who put himself in an impossible situation. It’s pretty much accepted that our new management screwed up. Jay needs to take the advice he’s getting from everyone but his punk-ass agent!
His right not to but to what point? The money? Then say so Jay!

  • http://yahoo WVU

    Pat White is the “TRUTH”!

  • Nicole

Update! I was reading on another sports page and so far at the meeting the broncos are holding strong to their stance of not trading Cutler. I think maybe they see that it’s in their best interest to keep him. I know that none of you want to wait around again for the next big thing-let’s keep what you have and go forward. Since alot of you say that Jay needs to step up-well so does Josh and prove that he can hold things together. This is a qb driven league and this can teach both of them something in the long run. In fact, everyone who has followed this case will learn something from it. Bronco management has an opportunity to show us that they did what was needed to be done. Jay will be at mandatory and that’s the opportunity for Josh. Don’t blow this- you can fix it and you will learn that you will be more effective in dealing with trade fallouts. A trade won’t teach him anything it will only allow him to escape from it. I really believe that Jay will suit up for you and that really makes me happy! The Cowboys and the Broncos will square off this year and with Cutler and Romo under center- the sky is the limit! I’M MORE EXCITED FOR THE BRONCO NATION THAN EVER BEFORE YOU WLL KEEP YOUR QB! SORRY FOR THE CRACK ON DEION GUYS- I GUESS HE WASN’T HERE LONG ENOUGH FOR ME TO ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE. CUTLER’S A KEEPER.

P.S.: IS IT TRUE THAT THE LIONS HAVE ALREADY STARTED CONTRACT TALKS WITH THEIR OVERALL PICK? I READ IT ON ANOTHER WEBSITE.

  • http://yahoo WVUFAN!

Pat White would be a wonderful addition to our offense! He is a proven winner, team player, leader and has a great attitude. Not only can he throw the ball he will take it to the house! Defense, If you blitz he will make you PAY! See ya! Will he pass or will he go?Don’t get it mixed up. I’m also a Jay Cutler fan. Coach, Jay Cutler can and will take us to many Super Bowls! Jay if you were upset about losing coach Mike S so was the bronco nation. He was a Great coach! I understand that our team was injured last year and that it was very unfortunate. You have an oppurtunity to step up and lead not only your teammates but also the bronco nation all over the world! What you did last year was too easy! What you do now in this situation will change your life forever! There will always be doubters no matter what career you have in life. On the other hand there are also people that believe in you too. I’m a believer! So listen up here is the solution:
    1. Pat Bowlen show Jay that you believe in him and structure his contract pay him what he deserves. He did make it to the PRO BOWL on an INJURED team. He almost took us to the playoffs by throwing for over 4,000 yds.

    2. Coach McD: Apologize about the way you handled this situation. I know you feel it may have been alot easier to bring in someone who knew your offense. We can tell by the new additions to the team. Jay Cutler has the potential to be a future Hall of Fame QB! He makes good decisions and he is a smart guy. “Give Jay the keys along with a playbook mixedwith some wild cat O featuring Patrick White with a dash of 3-4 D, you be the GPS and take us to the Super Bowl! I know you know the directions!

    3. Jay Cutler, End this mess! Tell Mr. Bowlen that you are ready to lead the way! All you need is more gas money, you got a team that will provide the horse power a GPS that knows how to get to the Super Bowl and a nation of hungary fans that want a trophy more than anyone else on this planet!

  • http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3983805 WhidbeyBronco

Nicole, you’re one of the folks I always read. It’s like reading my thoughts sometimes. Go Broncos! (If you can’t tell, I grew up a Cowboy fan. Morton, Reeves, Waters, Dorsett & then ME, going to Denver… Made me a Denver fan many years ago but in the NFC …yep How bout them boys? 77 was the nearest thing to a perfect Superbowl but since Jerry fired Landry like he did… I’d have the Broncs winning a close one. Ah, I could die happy) Well, there is my family’s security and that bit with the twins I haven’t had yet but the Another Broncos Championship over the Boys… Close to Perfect.

I really think Cutler will play for Josh. Especially if Detroit has their man!

Now. Who will be catching the ball? What news on the Beast?

  • http://www.google.com T-Money: Link Ambassador

I haven’t seen anything yet. Since it didn’t really blow up and the NFL launched it’s “investigation” a while ago, I’d bet that it’s still to early to tell, but safe that it’s not as big of a deal as it originally looked.

  • http://www.google.com T-Money: Link Ambassador

I also heard that Josh McD is going did a one on one with Scott Hansen, as soon as i find the like I’ll post it.

  • Nicole

    WhidbeyBronco,
I’m so glad that you enjoy my posts! I know that you can appreciate how important it is to keep that all important qb! An article that I just read stated that it will be Smith- now the money? I don’t know, but that’s a good thing. I believe that the broncos have to retain because the other article that I have read seems to state that Josh doesn’t want to start over and they want EQUAL TALENT/NOT JUST DRAFT PICKS. Well, there’s no equal talent available so that leaves Jay. I don’t think alot of people realize just how far you can set a franchise back with the wrong qb and I think that’s why they are working so hard tokeep him. Now, on to Cowboy news: the word on the street is that one of the reasons Jerry went to the owner’s meeting was to try to land Julius Peppers (he has stated that he wants to play for the cowboys). Look for Jones to be shrewd and get it done. Terrence Newman did indeed call out Romo about his woman and said that he needed to concentrate more on his game! Word circulating the streets is that this is Romo’s make or break year- there may be a new qb in town if he fails again- not T.O., no excuses.
Looks like Shanahan is on schedule- tickets have gone up! The receivers this year are Roy Williams (we used our #1 pick on him) Patrick Crayton. My guess is that Jones will pick up another receiver, even though he said he wouldn’t. There’s still a buzz here about Cutler,we still believe that Jones is in it- he loves names!

Game Prediction: At least 100 points may be scored. Too much fuel in their tanks! I still believe that Jay’s a keeper and apparently so does Josh.

Those were great blogs and thanks for the links. This can be fixed and apparently the broncos really think so at this point. I can’t believe it finally took them this long to realize that there isn’t any other good option- they need this guy! I feel that they will work it out. If they get this meeting set-up, I feel that Mcdaniels knows that he has to get it right this time-use the right words…do whatever has to be done just get it done. I think it has finally occured to him that this can cause his entire regime to backfire. HE NEEDS THIS GUY AND SO DOES THE BRONCO NATION! I WANT MY BRONCO-COWBOY SHOOTOUT-GO CUTLER AND ROMO!
