The Denver Broncos had announced on Friday that DT Josh Shaw was suspended for one game by the Broncos for “conduct detrimental to the team.” That sounds about right.
Jay Glazer of FoxSports.com has the scoop that Shaw was suspended for hitting fellow DT Kenny Peterson after some escalated locker room taunting. Peterson was not listed on Friday’s injury report.
Apparently Mike Shanahan wanted to suspend Shaw for four games but feared a reaction from the NFL Player’s Association. Shaw had missed the previous three games with a calf injury.
Hitting a teammate always crosses the line. Shaw is lucky he isn’t released outright. Stay tuned…
