Javon Walker

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker was found unconscious on a Las Vegas street corner Monday morning, Fox 5 News in Las Vegas reports.  He is currently under hospitalization and is listed in fair condition after suffering an orbital fracture.

Police are not certain how the former Denver Broncos player received the injury to his eye socket. There were reports of him partying over the weekend: Walker was seen Saturday night spraying the crowd at Tryst at the Wynn with some of the 15 bottles of Dom Perignon Rose champagne he ordered.

After a rough departure from the Broncos in March, Walker signed a lucrative $55-million dollar deal with the rival Raiders.

UPDATE: Walker was apparently robbed, according to police, and was seen partying until around 6 AM Monday morning in another bar. The police said he sustained “significant injuries.”

All smack talking aside for the moment, we want to wish Javon the best of luck. Honestly, we’re saddened to hear about this, no matter what may have transpired in the past. The guy has just been a mess since Darrent Williams.

dude probably got what was coming to him. Spraying champagne and crap on people. Good riddance

If that’s the case then I have no sympathy. But it sounds to me like he got mugged, and someone beat the hell out of him too.

But that’s just it – nobody knows – so until then I’m withholding judgment.

spraying champagne on people is not like an insult dude, its just what rich people do at swanky clubs. the people gettin sprayed are asking for it, especially from some rich, famous football star. I know people still have beef with this guy, but he just got the hell knocked out of him, and like the post said, he just hasn’t been the same guy since DW. we need to get off his back on this one. No matter what he has said, no matter how bitter he is at “that team”, I hope he knows we all want him to be ok, and I for one am prayin for this dude.

    Uh oh…

Givin’ Javon the what-for on the football field is one thing. It is, after all, a part of the game. I’d rather it be a healthy Javon taking big hit over the middle than some idiotic act be it his or someone else’s off the field.

I just updated the post. Walker WAS robbed.

  • rcsodak

What a putz! I’ll believe he got ‘robbed’ when I believe it.
He crys to get out of GB for money. Then, he cries when he loses his #1 spot in Denver. Then, he gets OVER PAID with the faiduhs, and does what?? Shows up out of shape.
Some chic prolly clocked him upside the head.
He’s just another ex-Bronco wr that turned into a whiner and left for a division rival. And look where that got him.

    oh snap! rc on it.

Hm. All bashing aside, my fear is that it’s not random violence, that he was targeted because some gangbangers are all upset about a bunch of their homeys in Denver sitting in jail right now. I hope that I’m just being a pessimist by thinking of that.

I was born & raised in Las Vegas and I worked at KTNV Ch. 13. The station who broke the story and Metro Police say; Off the Record. Walker assulted by a pimp in a known area for prostitution. Walker was 5 blocks east of the strip, with no known club within miles of Las Vegas Blvd. There may also be damage to the lower extremities.

the thing is, Javon HAS to know better. You can’t be all flashy and acting like a complete high roller popping bottles where there could be the element nearby who is taking note. He should’ve learned this on New Year’s a couple years back. Sip a drink in the VIP, don’t attract the wrong attention.

Man, some of you guys have no class. I’m all for rivalries, but the guy is in the hospital, come on. There’s a difference between football and life. I have no problem with the Raiders getting their ass kicked on the field, but off it is not cool. I wish Javon a full and speedy recovery and want to see him play against the Broncos this year.

couldnt have happened to a nicer guy. lol.

wow, when i did it i did not think it would be such a big deal :) lol

  • http://denverbroncos.com Jon

no jk, i know he’ll get better

No one deserves to be beat unconcious and put in the hospital. I’m a little suprised that he was alone and likely drunk at 6 in the AM off of the strip. I hope he has a speedy and full recovery. He’s got enough street violence cred now to go in to the rap business. He’s got to get away from that stuff, it’s going to get him killed.

for all his talk and indirectly bashing marshall and his cousin for their activities surrounding dwill- this sure as hell sounds a lot like the same behavior. i think javon just does and says stupid things, i am starting to think that he was more of a part of the problem that night in downtown denver, other than the innocent victim he tried to portray himself as on hbo.

you are right, you never wish physical harm to a guy, and i hope that he gets better quickly. on the other hand, the last bit of respect i have for him is out the window because of the hypocracy of the situation- and that has nothing to do with him being a raider or even an ex-bronco. i just dont like whiners and people who say one thing and do another.
