The 2008 NFL Draft is in the books – and the Denver Broncos came away with nine players. They addressed offense with their first three selections, then selected defensive players with four of the remaining six picks.

1. (12) OT Ryan Clady, Boise St
2. (42) WR Eddie Royal, Virginia Tech
4. (108) C Kory Lichtensteiger, Bowling Green
4. (119) CB Jack Williams, Kent St
5. (139) RB Ryan Torain, Arizona St
5. (148) DT Carlton Powell, Virginia Tech
6. (183) LB Spencer Larsen, Arizona
7. (220) S Josh Barrett, Arizona St
7. (227) FB Peyton Hillis, Arkansas

Overall the Broncos found a lot of value for most of these guys, particularly in the first, sixth, and seventh rounds. We’ll have a ton more on every new Bronco draftee, including in-depth player breakdowns, highlights, roster speculation and more!

It seems evident that the Broncos REALLY did their homework this year. After each pick, I was looking the guy up and the pick immediately made sense (not always the case in previous drafts). If they hit on half of these picks, the team is much improved already.

Only 2006 eclipses this as far as sheer excitement goes for me. You look up the picks and you see a lot of value. My biggest question mark is actually the running back – where does he fit in all this?

Kyle, To tell you the truth, after looking at the running back position, and the Broncos draft I keep thinking power running game with the emphasis on passing. I really think Travis Henry is on borrowed time. If it had not been for Mike Shanahans faith in him and big contract when we got him in free agency, he’d probably be gone already. The picks we have are going to turn into solid contributors for years to come. I only questioned the reach for Eddie Royal, though we did not have a 3rd round pick and maybe the thinking was no impact guy would be available later on. Why we did not get Brandon Coutu from Georgia or any good kicker is beyond me, Jason Elam will be missed. Even Champ said so.

Yea we really should get Brandon Couto, i didnt see him signed yet. But the guy on NFL Network said that very few undrafted rookies get signed after the first day.
